Très bonne expérience dans l’ensemble. L’équipe Kaplan est très agréable, l’ambiance en classe était très bonne et riche en rencontres internationales.

Il manque cependant des liens de cohésion créés par l’école et, lorsque je recommencerai l’expérience, je ne passerai pas par la réservation de logement, dont le service est peu qualitatif et onéreux.

C’est une expérience très enrichissante les enseignants sont très compétents et bienveillants.

From my experience, Kaplan is the best place when it comes to learn English. The teachers are very competent and patient with your learning process, they will motivate and encourage you to talk every time and they are also very gentle. This school covers all the skills that are required for being an English speaker, but the greatest factor of this place is that you are always debating and talking about different daily situations inside class. For sure this place will help you to improve your critical thinking as well as the rest of your english skills.

Eu tive a melhor experiencia na Kaplan! Meu instrutor Paul tornou as aulas dinamicas e divertidas. A escola possui uma estrutura incrivel e todo o time e` muito prestativo e educado. Com certeza retornarei o mais breve possivel.

Level was wayyyy to low even in C2. And too much French spoken in the hallways.

Mon experience avec Kaplan a duré 10 semaine. Durant ces semaines, j'ai été en contact avec une magnifique famille d'accueil qui m'a accueilli comme sa fille. Elle m'a corrigé tout au long de mon parcours et m'a aider a m'améliorer.

Mon experience a l'école m'a permis de réellement m'améliorer en changeant de niveau et en étant plus confiante en anglais. J'ai eu trois enseignants qui m'ont tous apporté leur propre manière d'apprendre. Je les remercie grandement.
J'ai pris option intensive avec un cour élective. Durant ce cour nous discutions de thématique liée au monde professionnel. Ce cour est très utile pour discuter avec des étudiants de niveau différents de soi. Les thématiques business étaient super bien amenés.

Les activités proposées par Kaplan en dehors des heures de cours sont super (uniquement si vous avez les cours le matin sinon vous avez plus de difficulté pour y aller). Certains sont payant et d'autre gratuite mais il y a de quoi satisfaire tous le monde.

Je remercie Kaplan pour cette expérience qui m'a énormément aider avec mon anglais et découvrir la culture anglaise.

It's a very nice school with talented and friendly teachers. I would definetly recommend to do that if you want to improve your English skills.

J’ai eu affaire à un conseiller très compétent, à l’écoute et qui répondais à chacune de mes questions, tout le processus d’inscription était très fluide et rapide.

Been trying to help my partner get a cancellation & refund months before her course starts. 3months later, with a full refund promise in writing , customer service backtracks and claims that they ‘explained’ about a £460 service fee, and still nothing refunded.

I want to share my honest experience at Kaplan Toronto. To be fair, I met amazing people in my B2 30+ and C1 classes, and I also had some good teachers like Geff, Juliana and Mike. The reception team was always kind, and the academic team listened to me, even if they couldn’t do much in the end.

Unfortunately, despite these positive things, my overall experience was not good, and I wouldn’t recommend this school based on what I lived.

The most difficult part was what happened in my B2 30+ class with one teacher. From the beginning, her behavior toward me and other Latina women in our 30s felt negative and uncomfortable. At first, I thought it was just me, but later some classmates told me they felt exactly the same. We all noticed the difference in how she treated us compared to other students. She was passive-aggressive, easily annoyed when we asked questions, and made us feel small or unwelcome.
Because of this, I started having physical symptoms from stress, including throwing up in the bathroom and more, and for almost two months I felt anxious before class.

I had two meetings with the academic team (one alone and one with three of the Latina women who were also affected). We explained everything clearly, especially her behavior, and also that her methodology was not appropriate for adult students 30+. While the academic team followed up, there was no solid solution. The only thing I asked for was a teacher change or, at least, respectful treatment. The teacher suddenly changed her behavior the next week, so clearly they talked to her, and I was glad about that change.

Eventually, the school moved that teacher to another group because of another incident with a friend of mine (also a Latin woman). When I thanked the academic team, they called me again to ask if I was “spreading the situation” (which I wasn’t, and honestly, I could have done it since day one) and to tell me that the teacher had never had problems with any specific group. They didn’t want me to use the word “discrimination,” which was the term I had used in an email to describe what was happening to some Latin women in our class. Still, five Latina women over 30 had the same experience. No one could explain why this only happened to us.

Moreover, accommodation was also complicated. The Latam team sold the program without giving me accurate information. I repeatedly asked for help to move closer to the school, and for months they did nothing. Only when I escalated the situation to the North America team did I suddenly get a spot, but only for the last three weeks of my stay. It felt frustrating and unprofessional.

In addition, and this is my last point, I was surprised by how Kaplan manipulates survey data, as well as Trustpilot and Google reviews. Last Friday, staff went from class by class asking students to write five-star reviews in order to enter a $100 lottery and to “help Kaplan become the best school again.” They even said there would be a party if the school wins. (If you look closely, most of the recent positive reviews are from last week.)

They also encouraged students to give 9–10 on the final survey because anything lower “affects them.” To me, this is not honest and prevents the school from receiving real feedback or improving in the areas where improvement is actually needed.

Kaplan may be a good school for some people, but my experience was extremely difficult and I could have avoided it. If you are thinking about studying here, please do proper research and don’t rely only on the reviews. But anyway, this was just my experience, you will probably be okay, but it’s important to mention when you don’t have a good experience.
