After six years at this school, I can honestly say that this has been the most disappointing school year we have experienced. Unfortunately, the concerns extend across both the elementary and middle school programs. Over the years, the school has changed significantly. One of the main reasons we originally chose this program was because it offered a more flexible, homeschool-style learning environment. It no longer feels that way. The workload has become excessive, the expectations are increasingly rigid, and there is very little flexibility for families. At this point, the program feels just as demanding as a traditional brick-and-mortar school, which defeats much of the purpose of choosing this type of educational environment.The amount of testing is also excessive. Students are being tested almost every week, creating unnecessary pressure and taking away from meaningful learning. Elementary ELA is scheduled for an hour and a half, while lunch has been reduced to only 30 minutes. The overall schedule feels heavily focused on assignments, testing, and meeting requirements rather than providing students with a balanced and engaging education. Another major issue is the lack of consistency among teachers and staff. Communication is extremely frustrating. Teachers and staff do not always appear to be on the same page, and getting a timely, clear response to questions or concerns can be incredibly difficult. Parents should not have to repeatedly follow up just to receive basic information or clarification about their child’s education.What is particularly frustrating is that we have been part of this school community for six years and have seen firsthand how much the program has changed. Unfortunately, the changes have not been positive in our experience. The flexibility, communication, and homeschool-like atmosphere that initially made the school appealing have been replaced by excessive workload, frequent testing, rigid expectations, and poor communication. This school year has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. After six years, it is difficult to recommend a program that has moved so far away from the qualities that originally made it a good fit for our family. Also, their platform has been down quite a few times since school started in August 11,2026.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Trying to get my kid enrolled in this school is the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced and I have been enrolling kids in online school in the state of Florida for years now. They say it’s because of the state. That’s a lie. Plenty of online schools have take ALL of my documents without cause for concern. Not this place. Don’t waste your time.

I enrolled my daughter in this program hoping it would help with her anxiety, but it has been a terrible and inflexible experience. The school is incredibly strict with heavy workloads, making it a very poor fit for a child dealing with anxiety.Communication here is non-existent. It is nearly impossible to reach teachers to actually speak with them. Worse, my daughter wasted her entire summer in summer school because teachers assured us she had brought her grades up to passing. After all that hard work, she was held back anyway. When I finally got a hold of a counselor, I was flatly told she failed, with zero explanation as to why she was told otherwise or why her summer was completely wasted.When I reached out to the 504 coordinator for help, instead of offering accommodations, they just recommended we find a different school with a lighter workload. If your child has anxiety or needs any flexibility, this program is not going to help.

Thankful for such a great school. Appreciate all the teachers and counselors and staff.

Love K12! Pulled my son from brick and mortar in 3rd grade due to some issues that were not being resolved. K12 has made a huge difference for him. He’s moving onto 6th this coming school year and I truly believe the curriculum is better than what he was receiving in brick and mortar.

I absolutely love this site because it is less than 10 minutes from my home, very friendly staff, and they offer water to us parents. The environment is safe.

The teachers are always accessible and respond quickly to messages.

My children and myself have not appreciated the change in the new learning site. My middle child is not as savvy as my other 2 so it’s just a lot of surfing everywhere to submit ticket codes in order to take quizzes and not all teachers include the recordings which have the codes in order to do the assignments. Lots of hoops to jump through in order to submit the work. I believe after a certain amount of time they should refresh the laptops b/c they lag and the chargers go bad and sometimes it takes too long they actually get into class. My children have been attending here since 2020 and it is not child and parent friendly.

My experience is great, the teacher's are super kind, learning is easier, and the staff are really helpful. But sometimes the application doesn't work or it's laggy.

Years of success

We love FLCCA, especially our teachers, and we have been part of this school for almost six years. However, I am giving it only four stars because the new K12 platform they are using complicates everything and is quite time-consuming. Even now, with the school year almost over, it remains challenging for us as learning coaches and for the kids. I understand that this issue is not FLCCA’s fault, but it has certainly been a struggle.

Additionally, I was disappointed when the school removed the FLEX program. Not all kids learn in the same way; some are quick learners who have a learning coach to assist them and can work independently. This was one of the main reasons we chose K12. The FLEX program helped us complete homework more efficiently and allowed us to explore additional lessons or participate in community programs. I sincerely hope they will consider reinstating the FLEX program.

the communication and the academic, how the teacher or school always checking on the student and helping in anyway they can

It's a nice school but there should be more sponsored activities so the kids can socialize.

Most of the teachers are friendly and make learning fun. Though there were issues with the IEP/504 learning plan that was put into place for my child and some of the teachers don't follow that.

Love experience my kids can use the platform very easy and the teachers are amazing

This is a great option for a public school curriculum in a homeschool environment. Teachers hold students accountable for their work. Classes are interactive and fun for the students. This is our second year and we will continue to attend FLCCA.

Amazing school. It’s hard to find a school where everyone cares about your child’s education. They even offer tutoring and test prep.
