I used Jones Myers for my divorce which was extremely horrible. I was a victim of domestic abuse. Jones Myers took advantage of me. They failed in their duty of care towards me. I was never offered any domestic abuse help lines and instead their solicitor just racked up thousand and thousand of hours. I was in a multi jurisdication divorce and Jones Myers had no experience of the other country laws despite claims they did. I spent thousands with a UAE lawyer to help Jones Myers. They have refused to work with me on the fees and threaten me constantly. Please avoid. There are much better ones out there. If you are a victim of abuse please do not use them. They have no understanding of the court system when it comes to abuse and left out almost all of the abuse in my divorce. They have refused to look at the wrong advice which was given to me and have just continued to bully me. I am a single mum, with an additional needs child working part time and what I needed was a good solicitor.

I used them in a divorce matter after a settlement was agreed previously through court with my barrister. My solicitor handed over to a colleague because he became ill and I was charged the handover briefing to that solicitor.
The divorce settlement had been agreed prior to instructing Jones Myers but I was given an excessive bill and the ex still has a home rights notice on my home. The home rights was addressed before my solicitor went off sick but upon asking the new solicitor she started adding to the bill. I couldn’t understand why,.. as my solicitor had already charged for discussions about this. My bill for just getting them involved at the conveyancing stage is over £4300, bearing in mind this matter had been settled in court prior to them getting involved. They were only involved as a go between for me, my ex and the conveyancer, as my ex was a nasty person and I was unable to communicate with him.
Many irrelevant emails were sent and I was told that my bill had been discounted lol. They carried out work that I had not agreed to and the handover solicitor didn’t contact me until the final days, that cost me more money for the settlement (£450 interest) as they delayed the matter.
They take advantage of vulnerability and mental health. Whilst at complaint stage they decided to take the matter for a judgement against me, which I was unaware of as I was speaking to a Mr Fox (complaints) to agree a settlement figure. I had been through soo much that my mental health gets the better of me. Now I have a judgement and fees against me also. All I wanted to do was to negotiate and pay, so I could put the matter to rest. I have children with disabilities and they took full advantage of us and our mental health after a five year divorce battle.
Don’t use them as the bill is extremely excessive and the matter is never be fully settled even after paying soo much. They leave loose ends!!
