Communication within the sales team was very poor; with messages not passed on or received. (I'm still waiting to hear from the Sales Manager!) Mistakes made with finance agreements meant it was the fourth iteration before correct and activated. (Although it didn't stop an earlier direct debit being improperly taken.) The one bright point was the excellence of the product induction at handover; a 2 hour thorough, helpful, patient tutorial including personalisation of connections and driving options. Overall, however, the experience was well below what was expected from Volvo.

Would have given 5 stars but they failed to phone to give us a choice of registration number, which was disappointing

Absolutely outstanding service from Gareth in Edinburgh from start to finish. Made it all easy which is what you want when you buy a new car. Highly recommend!

This one is a “tale of two halves”. So let’s start with the first bit...
Ordered and paid for a load liner and a spare key fob & blade for my Japanese import Volvo XC70 in January 2020. Was informed of lead time for load liner and fob. Load liner arrived on time. All good.
Fob & blade were due early April, but of course that was during lockdown. There’s nothing anyone can do until lockdown was lifted. I completely understand that.
So, lockdown is lifted. I then spoke with my contact at Volvo Edinburgh to ask when we can get the fob coded. “Ah, he’ll call you back”. Never happened. Emails, calls, visits. Nothing.
Months go by, then the inevitable happens. The one and only fob is lost. Stranded with our dog in the back of the car. Kirkcaldy fire brigade called (who were brilliant - thank you) window broken, happy dog, emotional owners.
Green flag called, car towed away to Edinburgh Volvo. All a bit of a nightmare.

Enter Steven Timmings. He took over this debacle, and reassured me that all would be well. It comes to pass that the fob originally ordered in January was the wrong one, (and my original contact had left Volvo). The fob wouldn’t work with a Japanese specification car (despite being told implicitly that it was an import). Steven made a temporary arrangement with the “wrong” fob, meaning that I could use the car. He promised to order two correct fobs. He kept in contact, and arranged a day to get the fobs coded. That day arrived, and everything was done quickly and efficiently. I now have two working fobs, and all is well. Thank you, Steven.

So, this review isn’t really about Edinburgh Volvo as such, it’s just to show that things can change dramatically when you get the right person on the job.
