Old Bond St entry refused

I purchased a Reverso Classic in Sept ‘21 and today went to the Old Bond St boutique to enquire about a service (it’s 1st).
When I tried to enter I was told by ‘security’ to come back in 5 minutes & so I asked “why” to be told the store was very busy. I looked over his shoulder & there was ONE other person (that I could see) so the ‘busy excuse’ was somewhat flimsy at best and at worst it meant there was an important client (well, more important than me apparently) that wanted an uninterrupted experience.
The impression I was left with was that owning a timepiece which today retails at just shy of £10,000 was trivial by their standards and the fact I was refused entry seems to confirm that.
Shame on you Jaeger LeCoultre !

What a shame that this once iconic brand has lost its way. DO NOT BUY ONE!


If there was a 0-star option, I would have given 0. If you are thinking of buying a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, read this first.

I have had six Jaeger-LeCoultre watches over the years, two vintage and four newer watches. I had no problems with the vintage watches, but something has changed in their management.

After learning about their history and their prestige within the watch community, I purchased two vintage JLC watches and had no problems with either. It actually began when I purchased a new Polaris and immediately noticed the quality was not as good as I expected, the bracelet was made in France and not by JLC, and the case felt cheap. This made me wonder how much more of the watch was made by another manufacturer. I soon sold that watch. I also had a gold Geographic that was sold because the movement failed. Then I moved on to a Duomètre, that also failed and was repaired under warranty.

After being so disappointed with JLC, I finally decided to give them another chance and purchased the classic Reverso. The watch was fine until the crown became so stiff I couldn’t wind the watch. I sent the watch for repair, and after many weeks, it came back working well. After only a few months, the watch stopped and would run at all. The watch was then sent to JLC for a full service at a cost of £800 in an attempt to get the watch working as it should and looking like new. After three months of waiting for its return, it finally arrived. The watch was working as it should, but I noticed the face had been damaged during the service. As you can imagine, I was not happy and made a formal complaint. After many emails back and forth, they decided I should send the watch back so they could investigate what went wrong. They eventually admitted responsibility and offered to repair the damage and refund my £800. Far enough, I thought….but after another four weeks, the watch was returned only to find the back of the case was scratched during the repair. Unbelievable!

As you can imagine, this has been a stressful experience, and this is why I decided to share my experience so that other people don’t have to go through the same. I’ve had many watches serviced, including Rolex, Zenith, and Omega, and have never experienced the incompetence that JLC showed. They don’t seem to care either because they haven’t even acknowledged the reviews placed on this platform.

What a shame that this once iconic brand has now been spoiled by cutting corners with its servicing and watch manufacturing by outsourcing rather than keeping everything in-house. The boxes are now cheap and nasty too. No service boxes either, just a cheap cardboard box.

I am now selling all my JLC watches and will never buy another.

Cette maison ne connais pas le sens du mot service

Cette maison ne connais pas le sens du service client:
Accueil en boutique a revoir (sensation d’être une menace dès l’entrée) malgré la possession d’une Polaris au poignet.
Imaginez une montre a 10.000 euros pour laquelle vous demandez la prolongation de garantie (gratuite) de 2 a 8 ans mais qui aillant 3 ans ne permet plus de profiter de cette garantie prolongée je dirais que c’est lunaire.
Si vous souhaitez de la considération passez votre chemin bien d’autre maison d'horlogerie vous proposerons une vraie prestation haut de gamme.

Une première expérience Jaeger!

Les échanges mails avec l’équipe afin de choisir un modèle Reverso sont TOP.
Par contre cela se gâte in situ, en effet l’accueil est « froid » et plutôt hautain en boutique.
Un ressenti de « petit » client pour un modèle à 11 500 Euros! Dommage….
J’adore mon modèle REVERSO
Ah oui, c’était mon premier achat Jaeger et pas un geste de bienvenue….1 ou 2 chocolats Suisse bien sûr!
En synthèse, il faut revoir l’approche clientèle en boutique….

Mauvaise qualité Reverso Classic duoface small

Je me joins au commentaire de Célia sur la fragilité des montres.
C'est pourquoi j'ai d'autres montres dont Rolex pour la vie de tous les jours.
On m'a offert une Reverso Classic duoface small seconds (actuellement à 14 200€) que je n'utilise qu'à de très rares occasions, donc porté 200 fois maximum (soit l'équivalent de moins d'un an) dont le ressort à cassé. On me facture 650€ pour cela.
Le problème que je rencontre c'est que quelques mois après l'achat de ma montre, les montres Jaeger étaient garanties 8 ans vs 2 ans. Ne le savant pas je n'ai pas pu bénéficier de l'extension de garantie. Donc maintenant on me demande 650€ pour changer un ressort qui peut casser à tous moment ("ça dépend des ressorts on m'a dit car ils sont fait main"). Je suis tellement soigneux et fais tellement attention à mes bijoux que je me dis que la montre peut à nouveau casser à tout moment. Je n'imagine même pas si j'avais une seule montre.
Mon anniversaire est dans 3 mois et je dois avouer que leurs montres sont très belles mais en terme de qualité ça ne vaut pas d'autres maison malheureusement.

Quelle horrible expérience client Place…

Quelle horrible expérience client dans la boutique de la Place Vendôme avec le vendeur! Mon mari a une reverso double face pour laquelle nous avons payé en deux ans et demi 1500 euros de révision ! Comment est-ce possible!! Et quand vous faites la remarque au vendeur il vous regarde avec mépris comme si vous étiez des nécessiteux qui n’avaient pas les moyens de s’offrir une montre de luxe. Franchement Jaeger Lecoultre regardez l’expérience client d’Hermes rue du Faubourg! On s’y sent tellement bien accueillis !!

Poor customer service and the product isn't great either

Bought a watch in October 2021- about 18 months ago. Six weeks ago it started to keep stopping. I went on a trip to Berrys in Windsor specifically for them to look at. They decreed that all was well and it was just lack of movement by me to keep the watch wound- odd as my movement patterns haven't changed materially since I bought the watch. The problem continued so I went on a special trip to the showroom in Old Bond St. I walked in and the two sales people were occupied. I stood there for 15 minutes with no contact or interaction. Finally one of them said they would see if anyone was available to see me- which there was. it was then agreed that there was a problem and I needed to leave the watch. To do this I had to set up an account. This required me to spell my name five times before the sales assistant managed to get it. I am now told there is a manufacturing issue with the watch and they need five weeks to fix it. Presumably I will then need to invest further time and money going to London to collect it

So in summary. I bought a premium product which after 18 months stopped working. To get it fixed I have put up with poor customer service, spent c£150 on travel and wasted five hours of my time

Same experience as the other reviewer. My watch was delivered on 31st July for a service according to their tracking. Absolutely no correspondence from them since. I have chased them up now and they've asked for a service number which was never given to me on any of the emails or correspondence. They asked for my serial number which should be on the warranty card but the warranty card is blank. Horrendously stressful experience. I've tried phoning the UK office today and it plays the message that they are open from 9AM to 5PM yadder yadder and then disconnects. I shall not be purchasing another watch from this manufacturer.

customer service is a joke

just try and get in touch with this company and its a joke the phone line is permanently busy and has been for the last month. live chat is a joke. this company is one of the worst for customer service. when you spend £18000 on a watch you expect better service .
sent my watch in for adjustment because it was gaining time and have heard nothing since.
