I realize this is an owner decision

I realize this is an owner decision, perhaps not interhome, but the cancellation policy on this property should be less restrictive. The moment you make the reservation, there is a cancellation penalty for cancelling. The customer should have more time to be able to cancel. ie. such as 6 months before arrival start a cancellation penalty....

I had an extreDisappointing Experience with Interhome: Misleading Information and Poor Servicemely disappointing…

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Interhome, primarily due to their misleading and seemingly dishonest handling of my booking situation. Despite clear evidence that my booking was rebooked by another customer, Interhome denied the existence of my reservation in their system and refused to process a refund.

Their response was not only unhelpful but also contradictory. Initially, they set a condition for a refund – that my booking needed to be rebooked by someone else. When this condition was evidently met, they conveniently claimed that my reservation was no longer in their system, directing me to contact another service for a refund.

This lack of transparency and accountability from Interhome is concerning. It demonstrates a disregard for honest communication and customer satisfaction. I am sharing this experience to caution others about their practices. Potential customers should be aware of this issue and consider it when choosing a service provider.

Thank you for the feedback. Our customer services staff handled this booking as every other booking we've done in accordance to our Standard conditions, which is available publicly for all. Having checked the booking history of this particular property, yours is the only one that is shown for your specifically selected dates. Which is accurate, as double booking is not possible on our system for the same dates. The existing reservation needs to be cancelled, before someone else can book. We are sorry if this was not made clear to you in the written form or the spoken form. We very much hope that you will give our service another chance despite the inconvenience.

DON’T book your stay or your home with this company.

We booked a home for our visit to Ireland. We did the booking with Airbnb but Interhome manages the property. We were told we would get information on the address and check in instructions 28 days before our visit. We did not. A week before I started emailing no response, as we got closer our emails became more frantic and I started copying the corporate offices still no response. 25 emails later and the day of the check in with no response I reached out to Airbnb. Two hours before check in no response. We were finally able to find the name of the person who cleans the hose and we got checked in two hours late. Two hours later 4 hours after check in I get a response on Airbnb because Airbnb had reached out to them with directions on how to check in . Everyone e that had stayed with them had similar complaints about communication issues. We will never stay in a house managed by this group ever again. We travel extensively and have stayed in hundreds of homes though out Europe and the US and this is the worst company I have ever worked with. AVOIDED THEM AT ALL COST!!!!

On arrival at our apartment in Oropesa…found apartment unserviced.

On arrival at our apartment in Oropesa we found that we had no bedding, no clean towels, AND
the room had not been serviced, so was quite dirty from the previous occupants, and there was not even one toilet roll.
We contacted the representative stating this.
We had a text apology and told that they would sent someone round to rectify.
An hour later….still waiting..and in need of a shower after such a long drive from France.
We had to go to a local bar to use the toilet near by, and decided to buy some bath towels in order to freshen up.
On our return we found that still no one had arrived, (we left a family member in the apartment just in case we missed them)
An hour later a lady arrived, she gave us some towels and a toilet roll…that was it! No offer to clean the said dirty apartment!
We then decided at our own cost to go to a supermarket and purchase cleaning material, which included a mop (as the one in the apartment was falling apart, as well as full of dirt and hairs!) detergent, cloths, disinfectant spray etc.
The Air conditioning was not working…and on process of elimination…found that the battery’s for the remote control were in fact dead…! Yep went out again to purchase batteries at our cost!
Informed the rep…got an apology, no offer of reimbursement.
One bathroom drawer had used dental floss left in it, as well as what looked liked toothpaste stains and hairs.
Checked under the beds as was getting nervous to what else we found…there was old water bottles, and some ear plugs. (Amongst the dust and dirt)
The sofa looked filthy and stained …and was not used due to this.
Clothes dryer on the veranda was full of rust, so would have ruined our clothing if we had used it.
Ice cube tray in freezer was mouldy.
Items in cupboards left from previous occupants.
Overall…very dirty and in need of updating.
We managed to clean the best we could…but then decided to leave early as was so unbearable.
What a cheek to ask for a £200 damage deposit!
Which I might add they reimbursed minus £7 for some reason!
We can’t even be bothered to contact them, and we certainly will never use Interhome ever again!
Disgusting….steer clear.
I have taken photographs of all my discrepancies.
Without a doubt there will be a response to this review from Interhome stating “ Sorry about your experience, we will ensure that we let the representative know”…!
NOT GOOD ENOUGH INTERHOME!

Easy to use interface

Easy to use interface - costs and conditions for the property were explained clearly. Once booked, the receipt and other information were emailed very quickly. Overall a quick and painless process to book.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Interhome

Our recent interaction with Interhome has left us deeply dissatisfied and frustrated. We had made reservations for a property in Mallorca for a group of seven people, well in advance, through booking.com. The booking process was straightforward, and we completed all necessary steps, including payment and online self check-in, with a sense of excitement for our upcoming vacation.

However, just four days before our scheduled trip, our plans were abruptly shattered when we received a voice message (unfortunately missed the call due to work commitments) notifying us that the property we had booked was overbooked. This was a shockingly last-minute revelation, considering we had confirmed the reservation at multiple stages, from booking to payment and even online check-in.

In response to this inconvenience, Interhome offered an alternative property that was far from being comparable to our original selection in terms of size, location, and amenities. The urgency of their request, requiring us to accept the subpar alternative within a mere five-hour window, was both unreasonable and unprofessional.

Upon contacting their customer service for assistance, we encountered an agent who exhibited a startling lack of empathy and concern. Their dismissive response, stating “it is what it is,” left us feeling stranded and helpless, without any indication of a genuine effort to resolve the situation.

While Interhome promptly refunded our payment, the compensation was rendered practically useless due to the exorbitant last-minute prices of alternative accommodations, which were now tripled due to the impending travel date. This predicament forced us into a desperate scramble, involving numerous calls to booking.com, in a bid to secure an alternative arrangement. Only through the intervention of booking.com and Airbnb were we able to secure suitable accommodations, albeit after a prolonged and stressful ordeal.

Our experience with Interhome raises valid concerns about their business practices. It is perplexing how a company could “overbook” a property despite multiple checkpoints throughout the reservation process. This leads us to speculate about potential ulterior motives, such as either a deliberate scam or a strategy to cancel and rebook accommodations at higher prices.

We strongly advise fellow travelers to exercise caution and reconsider their decision to engage with Interhome. Our dream vacation was marred by this unsettling experience, and we hope that sharing our story will prevent others from enduring a similar ordeal.
