Scammers
Tried setting up an unauthorised direct debit for a company my elderly grandmother had never even heard of or contacted. Extremely concerning that they have not only her address but also her bank details. Disgusting trying to scam elderly people. Reported to the financial ombudsman

Judging from what you have put down, Interbacs would have sent your grandmother a letter to notify the setting up of a Direct Debit per the scheme rules which should give the payer plenty of time to respond to either cancel or correct the details used. If any of our business clients have abused the Direct Debit Collection Facility and Services we have provided, it would be useful to get more information from you to trace it back to the right company so that we can enforce the appropriate procedures for fraudulent activities and report them to the correct authorities. Interbacs operates similar to a bank in this instance and we carry out risk and due diligence checks prior to engaging a client and we have on going monitoring measures to ensure the correct behaviours are adhered by the clients. Please contact Interbacs Customer Service team at your earliest convenience on 08444 127 180 to get this sorted out for your grandmother and ensure the correct business is identified to receive the punitive measures. Do you know your client ?
This company enabled a newly set up company ,which called my 88 year old mother and sold her a service which she doesn’t need and they couldn’t provide (scam), to set up a direct debit on her account. On its own the company involved would not have been accepted into the Direct Debit Scheme as they have no track record. Interface Ltd has a duty to carry out KYC on their clients. A cursory glance on the Companies House website at the current and former directors and their current and former companies should have raised a few flags. In Interbacs Ltd defence when I called they had suspended the company, however they should never have been enabled in the first place.

I can confirm we work with many organisations across the UK, our underwriting process is stringent and we undertake KYC checks on all Directors at the point of entering into an agreement, alongside business checks and ID checks as standard. We are registered with the FCA and we follow strict underwriting processes which adhere to FCA and Bacs guidelines. We work with longstanding organisations and new start companies, both go through the same rigorous underwriting process. I am very sorry to hear about your Mother and I understand our team did their best to help your Mother regarding the unwanted Direct Debit. Interbacs are simply a Bacs Approved Payment Service Provider for hundreds of organisations. I understand in this case we no longer deal with the company mentioned, if we feel a company is acting irresponsibly or causing concern we cease trading immediately. Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention.
Cancelling direct debits for mis-sold insurances
I contacted Interbacs to cancel a number of direct debits that had been set up for services by insurance providers that had been mis-sold to my vulnerable relative over the phone. Jacob was incredibly helpful, cancelling those payments & checking other payments under the same address. Thank you so much for your help and making this process so straight forward.

Interbacs is a great company
Interbacs is a great company. Staff at Interbacs are always on hand when i require any kind of assistance. Nothing is ever too much to ask, would definitely recommend using Interbacs payment facility. Andrew is always extremely friendly and helpful.

Top company with great customer service.
Having been with interbacs for over 3 years now. Banks aren’t always easy to deal with. If your with this company however. It takes two minutes on the phone with them, and you will have peace of mind again. They’re customer service is 2nd to none! Very good company. Would recommend!
