After having a problem with the previous garage, failing to diagnose the fault with my car… and before I go on, I must add that even though they failed to diagnose it they still have me back on four different occasions to try and help, but unfortunately on the fourth occasion I decided to then take it to another garage
So on the Monday night I dropped my car in so it was there ready for them on Tuesday morning
I was told that, as long as they could get the parts the car would be ready at the end of that day
It took the garage two full days to diagnose the problem (warped discs)
On the morning of the third day, they agreed to take out the work, which was front discs and pads and an airflow sensor
Shortly after agreeing to the work, I received a call to say they couldn’t get the discs and brakes until the following day which wasn’t possible as I had a hire car for three days which was going back that evening and I needed my car for work on the Friday morning as I am a private carer and had eight elderly clients relying on me
So I already had my car booked into the main Volkswagen dealer on the following Tuesday for a fault on my centre console, so I gave them a call and they said that they would be able to do the discs and brakes
I then went back to this company and told them
At 12 noon they agreed to doing the airflow sensor and told me that it will be completed by the end of the day
At 4:45 pm. I hadn’t heard anything so I called them only to be told that they hadn’t even started the work and that they would do it the following day
I literally couldn’t believe what I was hearing, especially after I told them how important it was for me to have the car the following day
I also couldn’t believe that it took them three days to diagnose the problem and not complete any work at all
Rightly so I became frustrated and told them not to do the work and that I would collect the car
I then received a call five minutes later, telling me that I had to pay them £118 for the diagnosis
I explained that they had the car for three days they had done no work to it. The communication was very poor and that I’d already paid £75 a day for a hire car which turns out was a complete waste of money and time
I became very frustrated
He said he wasn’t the reason for the frustration.
The only reason I was frustrated was because he had the car for three days and no work was completed.
He then went on to tell me I was rude and I would not get my car key unless I paid £118 for diagnostics
I reluctantly paid this as my hands were tied, and then went and collected my car
So for three days, no work done to my car I paid a total of £343
Horrific customer service
At the time of booking, when I googled this garage, I noticed that their reviews were 3.8 and 3.4 on trust pilot
A lesson to be learnt here, always read the reviews….!!
