After years as one of Identifyy's largest and earliest clients, I never expected leaving them to be this bad. I was actively recruited, trusted them with my entire catalog, and even recommended them to colleagues. The moment I decided to move to another provider, everything changed.

When I informed them I was leaving, they immediately offered a better revenue split to convince me to stay. I declined. What followed felt like a deliberate attempt to make my departure as difficult as possible.

First, their support gave me the wrong contract end date. I only got the correct one after following up a second time. Worth noting: Identifyy never provides clients with a copy of their contract. They refer you to a general page with no indication of when your specific contract started.

When I requested my YouTube asset IDs, I was told YouTube does not allow sharing them externally. This is false. Providing asset IDs upon offboarding is standard practice across the industry, confirmed in writing by multiple other providers.

Instead of following the standard Content ID transfer procedure, Identifyy simply deactivated all references, making it impossible for my new provider to take ownership normally. I am now forced to manually re-upload thousands of tracks from scratch. Months of work that should have taken days.

My assets were removed the very next day after I notified them I was leaving, breaking the entire transfer process and leaving my catalog unmonetized for weeks. Days later, their representative wrote confirming they would be removed on the originally agreed date. The assets were already gone.

After all this, all my tracks still show as active in the dashboard. When I asked, I was told to check the dashboard. This directly contradicts everything they told me.

They also contacted me after our contract had already ended to offer Meta monetization. Either they had no idea the contract was over, or they were making one last attempt to retain me.

When they needed my business, responses were fast and friendly. The moment I raised legitimate concerns, the tone shifted to short, passive aggressive replies, then complete silence, despite clear deadlines and plenty of time to deal with everything in a professional manner.

I am not alone. There are plenty of reviews online describing the exact same pattern. The contract term is three years. Miss your exit window by even one day and you are locked in for another three. Do not take that risk lightly.

If they are willing to mislead and obstruct during offboarding, ask yourself: can they really be trusted with something as important as your royalties?

Document everything and think very carefully before signing up.

This review nailed it perfectly - I really wish I had checked for these reviews before WASTING my time with these unprofessional yahoos who just seemed more intent on stealing my time and content than in helping as they kept saying they would.

Someone stole my content and registered it for their own - Identifyy said they would help. Then they said I'm not visible enough - just like this reviewer, I asked them the same thing - where does it say anywhere about "sufficient online presence"? And what is your majestic threshold now that you are claiming such a thing? They can't answer suddenly, for some reason!

Artists need transparency, especially when a release is rejected. If criteria are internal, they should still be clearly communicated. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend Identifyy.

When you first register with this company, you are required to upload proof that you created the music distributed through their service, along with the necessary licensing documentation. After investing dozens of hours compiling and submitting proof of ownership for a catalogue of over 50 tracks, they ingest your material into their system—only to terminate your account a month or two later without providing any explanation.
Despite the fact that your catalogue is fully compliant and properly documented, they retain all of your data indefinitely unless you explicitly request its removal—something made extremely difficult by their unresponsive customer support. As a result, they continue to hold your original master recordings, legal copyright documentation, and signed agreements authorizing them to monetize your work, potentially indefinitely.

Tried signing up twice. Never received any emails from them. Customer services were terrible. I ended up having well over 1 million streams on just one of my YouTube videos in a month. They had zero interest in customer relations. We both lost out.

I almost got caught up in the middle,,, I did open an account and uploaded some tracks which I did not confirm,just one to see what happened,(( luckily I did not leave my personal credentials,,)) BUT thank god I Remembered to first read the reviews...thank you all...
I wonder why there is no law against these people trying to cash in on others works,,,,
ah,I almost forgot,, do not open an accont 'cus there is not even a botton to delete the account...

TO TELL the truth I never bothered or never was interested in these things,, really do not know why I WAS trying to team up with these people,,
as I said in an other review about MUSIC DISTRIBUTORS,,they all want to manage our creativety solely to their adVANTAGES,, and we all almost let them do that....

... well all I can say is... all of these so called MUSIC SITES should pay us for our Music,(( as it was in the old days of MusicBusiness...)) but we let them fool ourselves because you long for FAme, but let me tell you.... if you give money to these folk or frutless music web sites: you deserve to be fooled... Signed up, uploaded a whole pile of original tracks I had the rights to, the next day, all 'admin rejected', no explanation why, no info or links when i tapped on the admin rejected logo, no help links on the site, no faq, nothing. For all i know they are selling my songs.

If you are going to reject them then fine but at least explain why, what criteria they failed or give me an option to remove from your site. Suspect this is an automated site run by sub-par code where there is no interest in resolving any problems if the automation incorrectly rejects a track. Or it just wants the rights to your music without paying you.

So far so good. Submission process was quick and approval was easy.

My experience is from a few years ago.
They blocked my account, stole tens of thousands of dollars.

I have been using the services of identifyy. They have stopped paying payouts. I have not received the payout which I was supposed to get on jan 2025. I contacted the customer support team. But they don't respond to my query.

I used Identifyy to register my music with ContentID, but my experience was extremely disappointing. When I asked a legitimate question about their policies, they deflected and then refused to communicate with me entirely. They still owe me royalties, but because I am no longer registered with them, I have no way to reach their payment threshold—which means they are effectively withholding money that I have already earned.

I reached out for a resolution, but they ignored my emails after telling me they were stopping all communication with me. This company’s lack of transparency and poor treatment of creators make them unreliable. If you’re considering using Identifyy for ContentID, think twice.

In my 15 years of selling music online, I never had an interaction that was as bad and unprofessional as with this company.

Never, ever consider sending your music to these SCAMMERS. They will hold it hostage, you will not be able to do anything with it unless you bring at least $100 to them.

Pedi pra retirarem meu catalogo da plataforma porque não quiseram me pagar, tenho mais de $100 USD retidos na empresa que não me pagaram. Pior burrada que fiz foi ter confiado nessa empresa.

Horrible Service and with an Attitude! They hold your music hostage for 3 years. If your putting your music on youtube and want to Live Stream... You Can't unless you have make $100 in 3 or 4 months... One person says they will white list you music... then another person says you need to me the $100 requirement. I will be posting my music with CD Baby from now on.

They don't want to delete my tracks and account even 3 years after I uploaded the tracks. Awful work of the customer support and awful service

They don't want to delete your account even after the 3 year contract is expired, and tracks have been removed from YouTube's Content ID. Also, the songs still seem active when you look into Identifyy's dashboard, so I don't even believe that they've removed them from the Content ID. Slow, short and passive aggressive responses from the staff if you're trying to leave. Avoid them, there are better options out there I'm sure.

Got a message on etsy saying they need to verify , think its a scam as they tried charging my bank £555.55 saying its a test . Dont fall for it

As an artist utilizing the Content ID Tool provided by HAAWK, Inc. through identifyy dot com, I have encountered a concerning situation. Despite six months of service usage and an impending royalty payment, my account was abruptly banned without warning or explanation. The lack of communication from Identifyy has left me without understanding the cause for this suspension.

Under our agreement, I was to receive 70% of the revenue generated from my content used in YouTube videos, with HAAWK, Inc. retaining 30%. To date, I have not received any payment, and the full revenue appears to be retained by Identifyy, amounting to approximately USD $600. It was just one week before my payment date when my account was banned. This action raises concerns about unfair business practices and potential violations of YouTube’s Content ID service terms.

I would like to remind you of the commitment made by Identifyy, as communicated by Alexa Tamara (Director of Client Experience & Moderatione) from Identifyy on September 28th, 2023, which outlined the royalty payment schedule and the process for administering my music rights.

Given the circumstances, I requested an open dialogue to address this matter. Transparency and fairness are crucial in our professional relationship instead of running away with our royalties. I respected the company and I am quite shocked this happened despite considering this as a risk factor from other reviewers, well it happened to me so why wouldn`t it happen to you? $600 is not the end of the world but imagine something more significant.

I hope that Google takes action to protect the community and revoke their access to this powerful Content ID (CMS) tool as this is clearly a misuse, and I encourage affected artists to reach out to YouTube and report Identifyy’s unfair business practices. Let’s safeguard our creative rights and ensure fair treatment for all artists. I recommend artists exercise caution when considering services like Identifyy. Considering all reviews, you might be better off with your music distributor!

They had me WASTE my time uploading my whole catalog, several emails back & forth for more info, only to reject it. Claimed from an opinionated projection, they couldn't make enough money off my hard work they did nothing to create.(Anything is better than nothing when you're not the talent.) Look up their competitors(Who also take less of a percentage also), I can tell you as I continue to grow I wont forget this experience. Their advertisement on how you can benefit from their coverage is very deceptive!
