If you read this it's probably to late

I thought this company were acting on behalf of my insurance company. And only found out it wasn't offered through them when i contacted my real insurance company to complain and they didn't know i had been involved in an accident. Never got the full amount offered and told the case is closed. looks like i will have to use Admiral legal Assist who tell me i'm not the only one.

Court found in my favour

I was unlucky enough to be lured into using this service under false pretenses in what has been a long and very stressful 19 months. I decided I had little choice but to take court action against them and am pleased to say that the court found in my favour. They are dishonest to say the least and didn't even give me the courtesy of having my day in court with them. I'm pleased to say they have now paid up in full and that I no longer have to have any dealings with them. Avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs! If you find yourself in a similar situation to me, take them to court. I did and WON!!

I find your response to be both laughable and insulting.

Of course you didn't admit liability, hence me taking court action. The court found YOU liable! You did not choose to fully reimburse me, they ordered you to do so!

And as for me not contacting you, perhaps check your records before lying on a review platform.

In the event of any post in an online forum we always believe it is fundamental to ensure a full and transparent picture is posted, as such it is important to be clear there was no winner to your case.

We should also be clear at no point did you contact us to resolve your complaint.

The full picture of the case was that you settled costs with one of our suppliers, in order to bring the matter to a swift close and without the need for further stress to yourself we made a commercial decision to reimburse your costs, this was by no means an admission of liability.

I have a current case going with this…

I have a current case going with this horizon I also googled my insurer and apparently I clicked on a spoof advert my accident was on the 2nd April 2021 liability was accepted by the 3rd party and payment was raised by the 3rd party on the 30th June 2021 yet I am still waiting for the money to clear in there bank but as far as I am aware it only takes 5-7 working days for payments to clear I have rang up a number of times and so has my wife and we keep getting palmed off with waiting for the payment to clear so can customer services either tell me why my payment is taking so long as one of these comments the girl had a crash then a month later gets paid out are they real people making the positive comments or the staff of horizon ?
Just a update my wife has just been on the phone to horizon and apparently the third party insurance paid the pay out into the wrong account wich is also a sister company for horizon now they have said it will take another 5-10 days to clear in there bank then a further 5-10 days to clear in my bank is this the correct procedure??

horizon have told trust pilot they haven’t dealt with me so I had to email trust pilot the emails from horizon to myself to prove they have dealt with my case and now they say on here they can’t find my case ok horizon

I have had staff from horizon ring me and harass me about my comment on trust pilot basically asking me to change it
I told them I will not be changing it as everyone needs to know about this bad company they told trust pilot they didn’t have any dealings with myself so I had to prove I was telling the truth and sent them screen shots on the phone calls and emails of the conversations and also a screen shot of my bank to prove they paid me
So if a company is so good and legit why would it need to do things like this ???
I have proof off trust pilot themselves if needed so how can you explain this horizon????

Again yes the lady on the phone asked me about the review and was I sure I wanted to keep the review that way it was so to me that’s her trying to persuade me to change my review

Unfortunately you refused to speak with our colleague.

In the interest of transparency however a full timeline is below of your incident:-

Incident Reported to HVM 02/06/2021 - Not April as you suggested
We received payment for your total loss on 30/06/2021

I can confirm the funds were sent to a different company that are part of the HVM Group however operate under complete separate legal and operational structures, as the funds were received in to a different business with no access to your file they were unable to allocate the payment as such a delay was caused whilst trying to identify what the funds were for.

Once our claims team received confirmation from the at fault insurer of their error, a request was made for the funds to be transferred across to the correct business.

Upon receipt of the transferred funds, payment was made to yourself on a faster payment.

Whilst the banking process typically takes 3-5 working days for funds to clear, when advising customers we will consider weekends and also operational time for the funds to be processed.

We are sorry you did not feel our services met your expectations however in all we handled your claim for a period of 6 weeks, in which time we established liability and sort settlement from the at fault insurer.

In relation to your suggestion that we informed TrustPilot we haven't dealt with you, we submitted a request via TrustPilot to identify who you were, unfortunately the name 'Allan' on your review is not comprehensive enough for us to identify an individual file.

I can also confirm our handler did not harass you to change your review, they simply called in order to be able to explain the full case to you and to ensure your review was accurate, as already identified your review inaccurately suggests you reported the incident in April, when in fact your incident did not occur until the 02/06/2021, some 2 months after your review suggests.

I was in a head on car collision 9th may 2021 from someone who was I legally driving hit me the accident wasn’t my fault and I was passed to this team what was a stressful and upsetting time but From start to finish the team at horizon have been amazing from answering all my questions to anything I’m concerned about or just general advice anytime of day all friendly professional and lovely thank-you all so much I had a hire vehicle of horizon in-till I got one through the at fault insurance company they dropped it off picked it up was absolutely 5* service for me and they helped with my car accident and making sure everything went smoothly as it could and I got my payment smoothly from the at fault insurance

Appalling

Appalling customer service and communication. They are dishonest and their lack of action or due process is costing me money and time. Don't use them if you can avoid it. I will be lodging a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman as their conduct is well below the required standards.

Awful

Awful, refusing to pay out and claiming it has been passed to another insurer to deal with. No, it hasn't. Waiting 5 minutes to talk to someone who clearly is just blagging they don't need to pay out. Absolutely wrong.

I can confirm we have reviewed your file:-

Your vehicle was deemed as a total loss on the 02nd May 2021
You received your total loss payment from the at fault insurer on the 18th May 2021, this avoided a claim on your insurance policy and avoided you paying your policy excess.

We received confirmation from your insurer on the 21st May 2021 that they wished to take ownership of the salvage of your vehicle, which we duly instructed our salvage partner accordingly.

On the 14th June 2021 we received confirmation from our salvage partner that your insurer had still not taken ownership of the salvage.

On the 16th June 2021 we arranged for your salvage to be returned to you completely FOC as per your request.

Unfortunately when an insurer wishes to take ownership of salvage we are unable to dispose of the vehicle on your behalf and seek further payment, as we had followed your instructions we were led to believe your insurer would take ownership which they have failed to do.

We are disappointed that you do not believe our services were up to standard and we will use your feedback in order to look at ways to improve our services.

No complaints from me!

From the moment my accident happened, this company were really helpful. There were issues with the first company that I was supposed to get a hire car from, they quickly sorted it. Every team member I spoke to were really helpful and answered all my questions (this is the first claim I’ve had to make and everyone really put me at ease).

Less than 30 days later, I have my car back and the case is resolved.

We have managed to identify your claim and are disappointed that you felt our service was not up to standard.

The services provided to you was on a not at fault basis, of which we made you aware the other party was holding you at fault and therefore we were trying to obtain CCTV footage in order to defend your position.

During the course of our enquiries you were kept fully up to speed and we advised you on multiple occasions you may wish to utilise your fully comprehensive policy in order to speed up your claim, which on multiple occasions you declined and advised you would prefer to wait in order to avoid paying your policy excess.

We finally managed to resolve liability and the at fault insurer agreed to take on your claim at no cost to yourself, we received authority for your repairs on the 24/05 and your vehicle was returned on the 01/06.

We are sorry you do not feel our service met your expectations however we are satisfied that the delay on your claim was only caused by a liability dispute based on the circumstances of the incident, had this not been the case your claim would have only actually taken circa 8 days as per the process following liability being resolved and repairs authorised.

Alexis Spillane is the best

I was involved in a car accident last year and was introduced to HVM. they were superb, especially ALEXIS SPILLANE who was amazing and very helpful. She was always updating me with the progress of my case even during the weekend. Alexis has the best way of calming customers even in a distressing moment. Avoid any dealings with this company at all cost!! I can confirm we have now reviewed your file and are able to confirm the process that occurred during the course of your claim.

The incident occurred on the 24th December.
We delivered a hire vehicle to you on the 29th December.

We had not been informed of the vehicle location until the 08th January and therefore a slight delay had occurred.

Your vehicle was collected and later deemed as a total loss, we therefore instructed our salvage partner whom collected the vehicle within 72 hours.

Initially you informed us you was unhappy with the valuation of your vehicle and therefore we asked the independent engineers to review this whom agreed an increase of £72.00.

It is not typical for us to dispose of a vehicle until such a time that the client has agreed with the final valuation.

We have reviewed your complaint against Jevon, initially we understand your frustration was due to not being informed of a salvage administration fee that is charged to us and passed on by way of a deduction from your salvage.

We have acknowledge that you had not been informed and therefore sort to rectify this and a payment was made to you on the 05/03/2021.

UNHAPPY.

My vehicle was damaged in an incident on 4/12/2020 that was not my fault. Having reported it to my insurance company 1st Direct, i was then contacted by Horizon who said they were dealing with the case, and then AX who dealt with the courtesy car. I always thought an insurance company dealt with everything, and not that that I'd have to deal with 3 different companies?
Since then my vehicle has been moved to a facility in Sandy, Beds, (i was not informed of this), I was initially informed it would be written off - it is 2002 reg, but only needs a new door - but i'm still waiting for an engineer's assessment.
Everytime i have contacted Horizon for information, (assuming i can get through that is ! ), i spoken to a different person everytime who either doesn't know what's going on, can't access the information for some reason, or transfers me to someone else who doesn't know either !
On Friday i received a box containing a few items from my car. When i spoke to Horizon i was informed it was the contents of my car ( far from all the contents), no one could tell me where the rest of the contents were, the status of my car - if it had a safeguarding note on it, or it had been salvaged or auctioned. And despite passing messages on nothing was followed up.
Today I phoned Co parts myself, and in 10 mins a very helpful girl gave me all the information i wanted.
Am very unhappy with the service provided by Horizon so far.
15/1/21 - all my personal possessions that were in my car have disappeared, and no one will take responsibility, or can tell me what has happened to them. An engineer has finally decided my vehicle is a driveable write off, and I have been offered £26 as payment. But I am expected to pay £300 in fees. Unbelievable !!!!

Horizon Vehicle "Management" - my response to your response

Horizon Vehicle "Management" - I'll address each of your responses point by point, it's important that people are aware of what sort of company Horizon Vehicle "Management" really are. If you allow yourself to be reviewed, then you must take the good with the bad, and I can see on Trust Pilot alone there is a lot of bad.

"My vehicle was disposed of with my consent" - yes I allowed my vehicle to be taken away, and yes I was informed that my vehicle was a total loss. That being said, I allowed my vehicle to be taken away on the premise that I would be paid out for the pre accident value of it. Here we are, on 27/12/2020, I have still NOT been paid out for the accident which I repeat happened on 01/03/2020. I was told my vehicle was a total loss, however, I've never been provided with any evidence of how this decision was made. Furthermore, even though the vehicle was taken from me, it's still MY vehicle. I have not signed any paperwork to sign it over to someone else, the logbook is still in my name, therefore, how on earth does someone else now have possession of my vehicle!?

"I can see from our file notes one of our claims managers has been in regular contact" - this is just an outright lie. I have had to chase contact with HVM throughout the entirety of this claim process, and the last contact I had was on 27/08/2020 from JA (who I can see someone else has also name checked as being utterly useless), telling me that I should email a complaint to the email address (new.claims something or other) I stated in my first review. It's only now that the Financial Ombudsman are involved that RK (Claims and Quality Assurance Manager) got in contact with me on 27/11/2020. Just to confirm, I have seen the email and I have responded to Rachel. However, I do not think an offer on 24/12/2020 for an accident that happened on 01/03/2020 should be deemed as an "outstanding job", perhaps as an organisation you need to set the bar higher.

"No fault of ours" - Again, I dispute this. I have contacted the third party insurance company many times, and everytime they have told me they have been waiting on documentation from HVM. Furthermore, if RK was able to get an offer from the third party within a month of taking on my claim, why weren't your other claims handlers (e.g. JA) able to achieve this in 8-9 months? Perhaps your other staff need to be trained to the same competency as Rachel - just a thought.

Your final paragraph - the incompetency is clear for everyone to see, you can mention recorded phone calls as many times as you like, however, the fact remains that in 9ish months you still haven't achieved your objective, which is to secure me a suitable payout on my vehicle. Please see my other reviews and emails which provide further detail of HMV's incompetency. With regards to the other words used to describe HVM, my vehicle is now in possession of someone else, how else would you describe someone taking possession of something that doesn't belong to them? I can see that this terminology has also been used in other reviews of HVM.

Quite frankly, it's insulting, yet laughable at the same time, that an organisation who is supposed to provide a customer service can attempt to defend what is so clearly a complete mess, let alone claim to have done an "outstanding job"!!!!

For clarity we welcome all feedback in order to assist with the improvement of our service, however it is also equally important for us to explain the full details of the claim that may have led to your dissatisfaction.

In relation to the comments made by the at fault insurer, this is correct they was awaiting confirmation of the value of your vehicle as they actually disputed the value we initially provided, we provided an independent engineers report along with multiple examples to support the value placed, had we not have done this the settlement payment would have been quicker but significantly less potentially placing you into a worse position than prior to the incident.

We believe this is a fundamental part of our solution to assist our clients and to ensure they are not placed into a less favourable position than prior to the incident that was as a result of another parties negligent.

We also provided this information on a number of occasions to the at fault insurer, however as a result of COVID-19 we believe they may have been delayed placing this on to their file.

The time it has taken Rachel is not a reflection of any other of our handlers including Jevon whom you have quoted and merely reflects that at the time of Rachel taking over the claim it had almost reach its final stage.

As mentioned you have escalated your complaint to the ombudsman service whom we are sure once we have provided all of the information to will see that in relation to trying to settle your claim in your best interest there is little more we could have done.

We are sorry that our service did not meet your expectations and hope that our explanations will go someway to explain the delays. Many thanks again for taking the time to place your initial review and responding to us.

Useless DO NOT USE

I thought this company were acting on behalf of my insurance company but it turned out they are a third party company & never made it clear who they were. I
Had a no fault accident in January & as of now I am still awaiting part of my claim for my vehicle that was written off. I was given false information on several occasions & they even closed my claim at one stage saying I had received the money when it was very clear that I had not. Jevon Alexis is indeed someone not to be trusted telling different story after different story!!
I have had to contact the 3rd party insurance myself as HVM cannot be trusted to deal with the claim competently & truthfully
I would not recommend this company to anyone & avoid them they are the worst company I have ever dealt with.
