DO NOT BUY A HOPCAT

my unit failed after 12 brews, they promised and failed to replace it, they just ignore emails and there is no contact number. The quality is also very poor. I am now going through Visa to recover my losses. I never thought in a million years a scam could happen through the medium of a brewing system. oh well, you live and learn!

Hi this is Shane, Sharon Williams imaginary son. I post this to highlight the fake reviews left by Hopcat! Please take a look at my profile photo. As you can see Mrs Williams must be the mother of Hopcat. You bought 2 systems ten months apart?!

I would question most of the positive reviews on trustpilot regarding hopcat. Take a look at the positive reviewers previous posts. All submitted on the same day, at around the same time. Clearly FAKE. If you really are considering buying a system, then please join a Hopcat facebook group and speak to the members first.

Shipment NEVER arrives on time, pandemic or not. There are hundreds on buyers who will testify to this. Good enough system for the price, but if you expect a hassle free experience shop elsewhere! Customer service is no service at all.

Be cautious here people, don't be fooled.

These guys are great, shipping was a bit slow but probably due to the pandemic!

I’m sorry but let’s get real here. Hopcat offer a good all in one system at an affordable price. That is the only reason you would choose to buy from this company.

You often pay months in advance to be disappointed when the ship finally arrives from China. I ordered both the Hopcat and fermenter combo, only the Hopcat arrive and this wasn’t even on time. I had to wait weeks for the fermenter to finally arrive. Small bumps and scratches isn’t really the issue for me, it’s the lack of respect they show towards their customers that have forked out a sizeable amount of cash for their system. Customer services are abysmal, please improve this, for your sake not mine! Limited contact through Facebook and no phone number to speak to them directly. If the shipment is late or they don’t like your messages, they simply ignore you to the point of pulling your hair out.

My advice, if you are even contemplating buying this system, join the Hopcat Facebook groups and speak to the people who have already been through what you are considering. Trustpilot score doesn’t reveal the true experience you may encounter with Hopcat. Ask anyone who has a compensatory jacket for their system, which I just about everyone.

Best All in one Brewing System

I ordered a package on a pre order deal, the fermenter and Hopcat came on time. I was able to track the shipment via a link on the website, and they emailed me with timescales for when it would be delivered. I have now done 9 brews with the system and had fantastic results every time! My friend has a Grainfather and he now wants a Hopcat after brewing with me.

I ordered a fermentor on the 11 June for end of June delivery, unfortunately some of the fermentors didn’t arrive and delivery finally happened 6th August.

I never had any email notifications of the issue apart from one saying it was due to be delivered but that never happened perhaps because it was at the bottom of the sea?

I have never known such shocking customer service not one reply to any emails, no updates just FB messages that kept promising that delivery would be soon.

Well it arrived and the racking arm valve leaks as the washers are missing, they have opened a ticket and let’s see how long this takes, its been 3 weeks now without a response.

But I’m lucky I have been given jacket for the fermentor due to the issues.

Buy elsewhere that provides an address that exists as their address is a mail box and a no phone number to call.

I see fake reviews are being left on this site as they are not members of the Facebook group.

Having got back into home brewing in 2017 I quickly evolved from extract brewing to BIAB. A colleague of mine bypassed the BIAB stage and went straight into an all in one brewing system, purchasing a 50L Hopcat. I was amazed at the quality of the beer that he was brewing using this system but it was only after another colleague purchased the same system that I became even more tempted to buy one for myself.
There are quite a few systems out there, varying prices all doing the same thing. Having looked at the Hopcat website early this year I saw that a new 45L MK3 had been developed. Having done a lot of research I decided that I would buy it and purchased a conical fermenter at the same time having spoken to an home brewer at a local beer festival. Both arrived quickly within a week and in an immaculate condition.
I was immediately impressed with the quality of both items, the fermenter is absolutely brilliant, my finished beer is so much better as most of the trub collects at the bottom and the beer is easily syphoned off with ease. When my second plastic fermenter gives up the ghost, I shall be buying another Hopcat conical fermenter to replace it.
The all in one brewing system lived up to my expectations too, very easy to use and I am so impressed with both the quality of the product and the beer it produces.
However on the second time of using it, disaster struck... not the system but my own human error and when removing the grain basket after mashing I didn’t secure the handle properly and the basket and heavy grain crashed to the floor, severely damaging the basket. I was gutted and despite trying to rectify the damage, the mesh circles did not fit properly and I honestly thought that I would have to purchase a new system; I contacted Hopcat and they replied the next day, sourcing a new basket, without quibble and I had received it within a couple of weeks. This was especially remarkable considering that most of world is being disrupted by Covid-19 I wasn’t anticipating such a quick response but am very grateful for it.
I had read previously that Hopcat’s customer service had not been good but honestly, that is not my experience. I remain very impressed by their efficiency in dealing with my plight and the quality of the both the brewing system and the fermenter.
For the money I spent in investing in these items to produce good beer is in my view excellent value for money. I highly recommend Hopcat.

Great service and fast delivery. I’ve been thrilled with the Hopcat Mega 45l Mk3 and Pro Fermentor. Both products are well made. Quick response to questions asked via their contact page. Well done Hopcat!

I’ve ordered Conical fermenter Pro. Product differs from the one listed in eshop. There are minor changes but also some major. In the listing of the product is noted racking arm but it’s missing. Worst is the welding quality. I’m quite sure that this kind of welding is not food safe. The joins will corrode. There are some rust marks on the side already

Company has acknowledge the problem and promised to take it back on 29 of November. But they didn't collect it till now (4 February)

Some of other customers have same issue but their comments were deleted. They are deleting most of the negative feedback on their facebook page.

Hopcat is ok until you don't have problem with their product. Than they will screw you.

Avoid HopCat!! After pre-ordering my unit and while waiting the 2 months before supposed shipment, I decided to cancel and take my business elsewhere. They would not respond to numerous cancellation requests, and when they eventually did it was again a long delay before I received that confirmation. After over a month from the cancellation, I have yet to receive my funds. Their sparse responses turn out to be empty promises.

Numerous posts of mine on Facebook have been deleted, and I can no longer comment on their postings. Other Customers experiencing similar issues have also had their comments removed. All that remains are positive posts, which are now suspect if they are even legitimate.

Beware of any company that is not transparent, not responsive, and not supportive of its customers.
