We want to share our experience
We want to share our experience with a heat pump from Hitachi to warn other families and help prevent others from going through a similar situation.
The unit has been barely used because we live abroad most of the time. Despite this, a circuit board failed and we were quoted around €4,000 for the repair, an entirely disproportionate cost for a lightly used system and completely unaffordable for many families, especially considering that the actual cost of a component like a board for the manufacturer is not comparable to the price charged to the end user.
In addition, this unit had already been repaired under warranty before, so this does not appear to be an isolated issue or normal wear and tear.
We have been without hot water or heating for almost a year, first during my pregnancy and now with a newborn baby at home. This is a situation of particular vulnerability, affecting something as basic as having heating and hot water during a very delicate stage of life.
What has been most frustrating is the lack of response and any effective solution. The first person who contacted us clearly stated that the case should be reviewed, precisely because the unit had already been repaired under warranty. However, the last response we received was from José Antonio Maestre Elena, who simply replied by email stating that there were “no records of issues with this model”, without providing any real answer to our situation or a proper resolution, ending only with a generic “Regards”. Due to this lack of clarity and empathy, we decided to share our experience.
Our aim is for the situation to be properly reviewed and for a solution to be offered. If we do not receive a response, we will continue sharing our experience across different platforms so that others can make informed decisions before purchasing products from Hitachi.
