The car I rented was in poor condition. Dents in the body that were marked with stickers. More dents that were not identified with stickers. The interior was also significantly worn with things like a cracked plastic in the door handle. The remote was so worn that you could tell what the buttons did. My member tier is Presidents Circle, yet the car was not on the gold board. A perk of Presidents Circle tier is guaranteed vehicle upgrade. I don't feel the car I was provided met this criteria.

The car that I rented was waiting for me at the airport and I was greeted with a friendly Aloha!!!
Last year my flight was delayed (I was 2 hours late. The flight # was provided to Hertz). Hertz canceled my reservation and it took me approximately 45 minutes to get another car (So much for Gold Club Membership). Service much improved this year!!!

Hertz at Lihue airport location was seamless. There was one employee that asked questions and directed people to the next area. I wish I would have gotten her name because she was so helpful.

Very easy pick up and drop off… car ran great and was a fair price for the week.

Everything was on time and both getting the vehicle and returning it were trouble free. I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the vehicle when we picked it up, but, that is the only negative I observed.

The rental facility itself feels old and dilapidated with no signs of recent improvements or updates. It’s in need of a serious refresh. Signage was particularly problematic—directions for the 5 Star Club (or similar premium/fast-track areas) were unclear or poorly placed, and many customers, including us, completely missed them.
Shuttle service to and from the airport was spotty and frustrating. On our return, the shuttle broke down, leaving everyone stranded. It took over 20 minutes for a replacement to arrive, and some people eventually started walking back to the terminal. This added unnecessary stress, especially with luggage and flight schedules to consider.32f939
Overall, while we got our vehicle, the ground transportation and facility left a bad impression. Hertz should prioritize updating the Kauai location, improving signage, and ensuring reliable shuttles. We’ve had much smoother experiences elsewhere and will think twice before choosing Hertz at this airport again.

Can was in great shape and comfortable for the trip. The only down side was I’d selected, a confirmed before the rental started, the prepaid fuel option. When I picked the van up it was not on the contract.

Great customer service and check in and out!

We had a seamless transaction for pick up and drop off at Hertz Lihue location! We could’ve picked up our car from the lot without the line, but had never done that before so we waited in line. Didn’t take long at all. Drop off was a breeze. Shuttle buses are super easy and quick service!

The car was ready, I loaded my luggage and easily checked out. Return was simple and seamless.

Pick up at the terminal was almost immediate, so no waiting. Car was ready! Car was almost new and clean. Drop of was just as easy and fast. Folks were really friendly.

Easy to return vehicle. It was difficult to find key in car we chose but an employee helped us...this was at OGG location - email should better explain the process. A totally different car was in our assigned spot at LIH so we had to get in line to find out if that was a mistake or whatever - wasted time. A note about the change would have helped!

Easy process. Car was assigned and ready to go when I was. No problems with the vehicle. Return just as easy.

WE rented from Hertz twice this month. The first rental, in Kauai, was supposed to be a 6 passenger vehicle. They gave us a car that held 5. When I complained we waited for a car with six seats to get returned, washed, and fueled up. Would have rather been on the beach than waiting for a car.

The second rental was in Boston. The car we picked had a strong smell of weed for the duration of our rental. Previous renters must have spent a lot of time at the dispensary.
