Should have read reviews before buying via Abe books. Book due to be delivered nearly a week ago but nothing and no response to emails. Agree that they are a scam and will never buy from Abe books again since I see that they must know how atrocious Greener Books are and should not give them a platform

My mum ordered a book for me and I’m genuinely disgusted with the condition, she’d be horrified if she saw how dirty it is. Described as ‘Very Good’. God only knows who would think it was very good. There is no website for this company, no phone number. The retail price of the book was £8.99, my mum paid a fiver for it. I wouldn’t pay 50p at a boot sale as it’s so gross. My mum was mislead as ‘greener books’ seems ethical, like recycling and reusing to save waste and landfill. This company is awful. I think she got it from Amazon, is it worth reporting on there? Thanks

I ordered a book via AbeBooks, described as in Very Good condition. When it arrived I discovered that it was looking a bit battered, and therefore in no better than Good condition. In support of this was a loose printed label inside the book, perhaps relating to a previous sale, which categorised the book's condition as Good. Two messages to Greener Books went unanswered (AbeBooks require sellers to answer within 2 working days). AbeBooks was contacted, and they were unable to get a response from Greener Books, so I was refunded at Greener Books expense. I have added Greener Books to a growing list of sellers on AbeBooks that I will not do business with. It's about time that AbeBooks kicked out these rogue sellers.

I have ordered a book, which has not arrived. I have sent 2 emails to them which they have not replied. I am asking for a refund in which they are avoiding me and there seems to be no website associated with the bookstore. It's likely the book won't come. I recommend absolutely avoiding them at all costs. IT'S A SCAM!

I ordered a book through Abe Books which came from this company (order no. 13159129)

The book was described as VERY GOOD CONDITION. It is as far from very good condition as possible. The spine is damaged, bruised and torn and has been crudely stuck together with large white stickers.

Trying to get a returns label or even a credit from this company is impossible.
Greener Books are insisting that I pay for the return .

I would strongly suggest that Abe Books stop doing business with Greener Books, before they are dragged in to the equation and their good name is tarnished .

NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Still for a book , nearly £20 . Never arrived. No response from several emails and even their website is currently unavailable. Bought from them trough ABEbooks, scammers. No have to take time to try and get my money back somehow. Unbelievable

Absolute con of a "company". 1 star is way too much praise. Ordered a book via Abe Books and the money promptly flew out of my bank account with no issues into Greener Books coffers. The book, odered in September 2024 of course, didn't arrive and 6 emails later to "customer Service" about missing item - tumbleweed. I've tried phoning the number - good luck with that, never any answer. Sent a text to their number today - tumbleweed. Had a look at Companies House for their company credentials, says it all really. Clearly the scam works for Greener Books but I'm raising a fraud claim with my bank to get a refund. I won't hold my breath and equally won't ever use or recommend this company. Buyer beware.

Book described as 'Very Good', was 'Fair' at best - scruffy on the outside, a lit of writing on the inside. Usable as a refence text (Hamlet) but not a good experience. Life's too shr to request a refund from this (apparently) unscrupulous comppany.

Never received the book. They told me the book had been delivered days before I was chasing it up. I would not advise using this business

Don't buy from this company, either direct or through Abe Books. The books were classed as 'very good' condition, but are poor with damage plus writing inside.
Customer service have ignored me.

Cancelled my book order and relisted it at £15 higher price, would not recommend and I certainly will never use again.

Been waiting months for my order but no book and no information. Company just a scam. Avoid at all costs

My wife ordered a Mary Berry book which at £3.99p and free postage was good value. After reading reviews after we ordered she was apprehensive about receiving it but after waiting a full five days and book not arrived we email them and we did get a reply from them and I think they hadn't posted it as they said it had been dispatched but email them if it hasn't arrived in the next few days. The book did arrive today the 5th of Sept about 10 days late but the book was in good condition apart from afew page corners turned in as someone wanted to mark the page. We only speak as we find and Greener books did deliver.

The book arrived today, 13 days after pickup by Royal Mail. Invoice inside the very yellow, used book said,”£3.38”. I paid, through Amazon, £14.54! Response from Greener Books was that the book had been ordered by another. AbeBooks and not Amazon. They have even sent the email address of zackdeezts… for me to contact. I sent them the link to my order from Amazon but, strangely they were unable to click on it. This a total ripoff/scam and Amazon are helping them.
This is the first time I have encountered a problem with an Amazon order and it certainly isn’t a good look for them.

I ordered a book from Greener Books via Abe Books. Granted, it was only cheap and cheerful but even after emailing I am still waiting for a response as to why it’s not been received, or even if it’s been dispatched. Very disappointing customer service.

My book finally arrived today. It should have arrived on or before June 29th. This doesn't bother me too much as it was not urgent. The book arrived very well packaged in Greenerbooks own plastic wrapping and was very professional looking. The book is indeed as described in very good condition.

Now, if things had just been that then there would be no issue, and I would probably order from you again.

However, there was ZERO communication from Greenerbooks despite me sending a delivery update request via Abebooks, another request from their own website, and even applying for a refund.

If you don't talk to your customers and send the books out on time then you are going to get a mass of very bad reviews...and guess what? that is what you are getting. I even thought you were a scam company, but at least you have disproved this.

It is such a shame. You offered the best price, and offered a very good condition book. But you did not give me a Royal Mail tracking number or reply to any queries. You could be a good/very good business, but I had to agree with most of the other reviews on here, at least until today. I hope that many of these reviewers did, like me, receive their books in the end, or you refunded them. I have now removed my 1 star review I had left previously.

Scam artists. Terrible conduct. Liars. Book foul quality and advertised as excellent. Tried to duck the Amazon return and refund process, had to force it through a claim.

The sooner you go out of business, the better.

Simply put.Buyer beware. This is the number one on my list of companies to NOT do business with. This company sadly is a spin off (marketplace seller) from the Scaming master in partnership with ADEBOOKS.co.uk , Amazon (also see my review for that explanation for Adebooks). Even the fact you obtain assurances and email's promising refunds with lines of how this is such a good company. This is a delay tactic to keep your well earn money, because you will never see the return hit your bank account. They are never going to be bothered to change what is clearly just a scam setup to steel. How companies like this can exist in this once great Country is beyond me.

Ordered book 4th March 2024 still not arrived and it's 24th April 2024.
Ordered through Abebooks (wish i'd read their reviews before purchasing) both businesses/companies are a complete sham.
If you actually want to receive a book you pay for go elsewhere.
DO NOT USE ABEBOOKS AND DO NOT USE GREENER BOOKS EITHER.
I will be reporting both of them to trading standards.

No confirmation email after order on 4th of April submitted via the Greener Books website.

None of the 3 books ordered were received.

On messaging they claimed an order confirmation email had been sent (none received even in my junk mail).

They also stated that the parcel could not be located on their end and that it should have been received by now.

The actual replies when contacting customer services were prompt and the refund was too so 2 stars rather than 1.

I have concerns though that the company is linked to BritBooks (the refund came via them) which concerns me as I had similar issues with BritBooks. A search online seems to suggest the owners are similar between these two companies as well.

Overall I wouldn't buy from their website if you want to receive a book.
