We regularly use Go Outdoors Northampton and are always extremely happy with the good Customer Service, great selection of products and fantastic quality too 👏🏻😁
Today Christine went above and beyond in helping me with the purchase of a new fishing rod, she was absolutely Amazing!! Well done Christine for Brilliant Customer Service 🙌

Go Outdoors is, in many ways, a typical outdoor retail store: a wide range of products, plenty of choice, and items you can easily find elsewhere. In a shop like this, the staff are what should make the difference.
Unfortunately, in this case, they made the difference for all the wrong reasons.

When choosing items such as walking boots, you expect proper advice, some level of expertise, and at least a basic willingness to help. Instead, the experience felt rushed, dismissive, and condescending — as if the staff member just wanted to quickly “explain it to me” and move on.

Customer service was practically non-existent. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but if you really do not feel like working, maybe go home instead of taking that attitude out on customers.

They would do well to take an example from their Milton Keynes branch, where the customer experience is clearly on a different level.

The shop itself is nothing special without good staff behind it. And based on this visit, the attitude and lack of customer care were frankly unacceptable.

Went in looking for a camping chair, Flyn and Milly were extra helpful finding the one I wanted in the warehouse as it wasn’t in the shop. Top service.

We have been looking to upgrade our camping equipment for a while, upon deciding on the tents and other items we wanted online we called the store to check it was all in stock. We were lucky enough to get put through to Callum who was nothing short of phenomenal for our whole experience. We were spending a lot of money and he was helpful and attentive throughout, both over the phone and when we went into store the following day. He had collected all the items we had asked for ready for us, helped us find other items we needed, offered advice, loaded trolleys, involved our 3 year old and overall just provided the perfect customer service from start to finish. We cannot fault him, and will be travelling to Northampton (not our local store) for anything and everything need in the future. Thankyou Callum for everything you did for us that day :)

Couldn’t find anybody to help me with an outdoor chair until a young man called Dan appeared who was extremely helpful. He showed me how to fold and open the chair easily and then signed me up to be a member . First class tactics for a sale.

Staff in the tent village were excellent and really knowledgeable and friendly, the older gentleman really knew his stuff and helped me pick out my first family tent. He was great and should ve recognised. When I collected my purchase there was an issue with the tent footprint being available, this was quickly resolved with a suitable alternative offered with no stress. Well done to the whole team who were attentive and customer focused !!

Bought a tent and lots of gear from the Northampton branch - first time campers so had loads of questions - the manager was amazing and very patient - a massive thank you to Dan too for coming in early to take down the showroom model we bought - we are now on our first week away and couldn’t be happier :-)

first time in store was looking for a tent for A festival for me and partner and my child the man helping us i think was Sam had great knowledge of the products and we walked away with the perfect tent for my family will 100% be coming back again

Really attentive staff, purchased a tent for my summer road trip and they were really good in making sure I had one that was right for my budget and that I’d be able to set up myself. Sam the duty manager was fantastic. Will be coming back! Thank you all :)

Sam always goes above and beyond whenever we see him. He is incredibly patient with my VERY indecisive husband.
Today my husband took up a lot of his time looking at Garmin watches and Sam was excellent, as always.
This store is an excellent addition to Northampton and is our ‘go to’. The staff are all friendly and very helpful.

I had to return an item for exchange because I had gotten the wrong size, the young man that served me was very pleasant and polite, he dealt with my issues quickly and he was happy to do so including my issues with my membership.with staff like Dan I am more than happy to repeat my custom at the Northampton branch.

We were served well by Emily who helped us to choose walking shoes with the correct insoles. She was patient and willing to try different combinations of insoles to get the right fit.

Amy was a absolute pleasure. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Great customer service. Fabulous smile. Thank you Amy for all your help.

Was looking for a certain 4 man tent but could not find one to take to the till. Flyn rummaged through the stack of tents and found what I was looking for. I paid for membership to get the big reduction in price and Flyn also managed to get me the additional 10% discount for signing up to receive marketing texts. Flyn was friendly and helpful; a credit to the store.

It is a lovely store, came in yesterday to buy a tent and left with a tent and great knowledge from Nathan.

I visited the Northampton store for the first time today. A young called Dan was incredibly helpful, really polite, took loads of time explaining the difference between various products. An all round excellent young lad.

Very professional, used the foot scanner and explained everything really clearly, helped me find a great pair of running shoes and gave some helpful running advice.

Really knowledgeable and delightful staff (Nathan & Calum). Excellent customer service will definitely visit again
