I was left waiting at the till for at…
I was left waiting at the till for at least 10 minutes on a day that wasn’t particularly busy with three people in front of me, and not once was there an apology or acknowledgement for the delay. Having over 20 years of experience working in retail myself, I understand that customers can sometimes have to wait, but I found the lack of urgency and customer service particularly disappointing. The short lady serving me, who appeared to be in her early 60s, spent much of the time chatting while serving rather than getting customers through the till efficiently. A simple apology and a more attentive approach would have made a significant difference to the experience.

Website lies about stock levels at local stores.
I wasted 2 hrs and fuel travelling to Go Outdoors retail shop on two seperate occasions as the website told me the item I wanted was in plentiful stock at the location. It was not , on both occasions. I therefore reverted to ordering online and waited a week for the item to be delivered.
I should add that the staff at the Chester branch ( saltney ) went out of their way to try and find the goods in the store and storeroom on both occasions and were equally frustrated. They were superb.

We are sorry to hear that your order was cancelled the day after placing the order on a Click & Collect Express service.
Whilst we aim to ensure our stock files are accurately reflected, cancellations can occasionally occur due to stock discrepancies or system issues, we fully appreciate how upsetting and inconvenient this is.
As the order was placed on the Click & Collect Express service the stock needs to be available at the selected store location for the order to be fulfilled. As the store was unable to fulfil the order, the order was cancelled and a refund was issued back to the original payment method used on the order on the 4th September.
We do hope we’ll have the opportunity to restore your confidence in GO Outdoors and provide a much better experience in the future.

Very helpful staff manager was lovely I had bought a leisure battery I did measure before buying it and it was very close but inf it didn't fit, went back in store and the manager greeted me and asked if she could help I explained my predicament and she very kindly said don't worry we can refund it or exchange it for you if there's something suitable, unfortunately there wasn't but she kindly refunded it, this was a big relief as I'd recently had major surgery and I'd struggled to get the battery in and out I didn't get her name but I do hope she reads this review I wish their were many more like her in retail.

Quality at great prices
The whole process of acquiring membership was very straightforward (although I'm still awaiting my e-membership card several weeks later). There is a tremendous range of quality clothing and kit at exceptionally good prices. Staff are incredibly helpful and courteous.

wheres the stock gone :(
as always the overall pricing and range on the internet are excellent , the gent on the cycling and fishing area (chester) was really helpfull checking stock trying to find what i needed well done for him :) deserves a hug putting up with me, but the float levels on the shelf were a problem for me . Lots of empty shelves and keynotes from the advertised 'sale' not even available at the store. Maybe its just fishing gear its a bit of a niche area but left the store feeling a little disappointed

Huge thanks to Helen and Izzy for resolving a 5 week dispute with Customer Services in the space of 20 minutes. It is because of them being so efficient and lovely that I have revised my previous 1 star rating. Go Outdoors online shopping and central customer services is a disgrace. Unless you are going to deal directly in store with a human being, save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. Huge thanks to Helen and Izzy for their help and diligence. Be warned, if your order is not fulfilled due to GO not having stock, you will be in for a world of pain trying to get your money back. Please also be advised the website will allow you to order items that aren't in stock! Avoid at all costs!! 5 stars to Helen and Izzy, 0 stars for the company.
