Well made sheepskin slippers, very warm to wear and good soles

I bought a pair of Ronan Tan leather trainer shoes for work and they are exceptional.

High quality, great fit and great feel…

I wear them with chinos and shirt for work or Reiss dress trousers for a more casual evening event and they go perfectly with everything.

I would recommend this product to anyone.

I ordered some slippers from Goodwin Smith and unfortunately had to return them as the sole differed from those that I'd previously bought and been really happy with (the soles of the new slippers were really stiff).

The refund process through the website is straightforward, however the return acknowledgement didn’t include the refund of postage which they are obliged to do by law (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
Goodwin Smith refunded the £4.99 when I asked them to, but it shouldn’t be necessary to have to do this, and that's a nice profit that they're making out of customers who aren't aware of their rights/can't be bothered to request the full refund.

Safe to say, I won't be buying from them again and won't be recommending them.

My comments are not factually incorrect and I haven’t made false statements, however their T&Cs would appear to be incorrect and restrict their customers legal rights. It's a shame that the company is making untrue claims about an honest review.

16th April - I contacted the company to register my return, and received acknowledgement of the same.

16th April – I returned the order using the label PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY – Royal Mail tracking ZL970940013GB -I have emailed Tim Smith the managing director with a photo of the proof of posting slip which clearly shows the first line of the address as Railway Street, and the postcode as OL13 0UF – this is the company’s address. The parcel was received by the company on 22nd April – not a month later as asserted.

Goodwin Smith’s T&Cs state ‘You have 14 working days from receiving the parcel to return it to us in the same condition you receive it, …..’ I complied with this; the T&Cs do not state that the company needs to receive the goods within 14 days.

HOWEVER – this is irrelevant; by law a customer has 28 DAYS TO RETURN THE GOODS to the retailer; regarding the Consumer Contract Act 2013, Gov.uk states ‘You must offer a refund to customers if they’ve told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they’ve told you.’ As I returned the slippers 12 days after receipt, I complied with the law.

Furthermore, there is no mention in the Act of when the goods should be received by the company, only the timeframe that the customer must adhere to, therefore Goodwin Smith’s comment about receiving the order back after 14 days is irrelevant (and in any case, they received it 18 days after I received the order - which is when 'the clock starts ticking' ); if they have an issue with the length of time the delivery took, they should take this matter up with Royal Mail.

ADDITIONALLY, the law states ‘You should refund all monies received, including the outbound delivery cost, within 14 days of cancellation of the services contract or within 14 days of receiving goods back.’ (This applies when the full order is being returned.) The acknowledgement by the company of the refund did not include the outbound delivery cost - I had to request it.

Regarding the company’s assertion that the refund was a ‘goodwill gesture’ – it was not; I complied with the law and they were legally bound to refund the monies to me.

Furthermore, the company’s statement that the slippers were worn and I returned the order in 2 separate packages is either a fabrication, or they have mixed up my return with someone else’s; I tried the slippers on briefly indoors, didn’t like them and put them back in the box – so they weren’t ‘worn’. And whilst the company sent the 2 pairs of slippers to me in 2 separate parcels ( see tracking numbers above), I returned the goods in 1 package as per the tracking number.

The slippers I bought were made in China with synthetic lining, which I returned. So not everything they sell is made in Italy and Portugal. I wasn't happy either what they charged for delivery and return. That was a rip off. Just as well they are closing down. Not a happy customer.

These genuine suede moccasin slippers are the last word in comfort. The hard sole means I can venture outside, briefly, onto the gravel. Would definitely buy again

Great quality

I bought a pair of tan leather boots only to find out that the soles were made from petroleum rubber and within four months the soles had completely disintegrated at the heel and the soles themselves were cracking and made from a hollow lattice work rather than solid. The website states that products are made in Italy and Portugal by expert artisans yet clearly on the tongue of the boots it states made in India. I took them to a cobbler as they are essentially good looking boots and was told that they were extremely poor quality and knowing that they were made in India probably cost the company a few pounds to buy and sell on for a huge profit. I was advised not to have them resoled as this would cost more than they were worth. I am currently in the process of getting my money back as I feel cheated and lied to by deceptive marketing. Determined to get a full refund and to never trust this company again. I have since bought a pair of Solovair boots made in the UK and they are exceptional in comparison for roughly 30 pounds more. Thoroughly disappointed and yet another company that has glistening marketing yet scratch the surface and you have poor quality products sold at a huge mark up.
