We went to Go Ape at Moors Valley Park and the young staff members were excellent - full of enthusiasm and really friendly and helpful. We paid for an hour but were there over 2!

One big happy family thank you.
We have just come back from an afternoon & although tired & slightly battered we have big smiles on our faces. Our instructor Brad gave very clear instructions & safety information so we could do the challange and enjoy it, and made the experience great for us.

We booked a family ticket at £155 during the induction we were told that if for some reason someone changed their mind at this point they would receive a refund my wife decided that she couldn’t do it due to the height and went to get a refund on her ticket and then was told that she could not have a refund instead they give her another ticket for another time I told them that she would not be able to do that as she doesn’t do heights they said contact customer service I did this they were no help and now stuck with a ticket that she will never use such a shame as for the rest of my family and myself enjoyed the day but would not do it again staff were helpful activities were good just the refund process I’m not happy with so be absolutely sure you can do go ape before paying as no refund despite being told otherwise

One of our core values at Go Ape is to encourage everyone to live life more adventurously. We appreciate that our activities are not for everyone and have an onsite policy where, should a participant not feel comfortable passing the safety brief, we would offer a refund via the original payment method. This therefore provides reassurance to those who may be apprehensive about stepping out of their comfort zone and trying something new.
This does not apply to participants who choose to proceed past the safety brief, or opt out of completing the course later during the experience. In your wife's case, this was what happened and was the reason why a voucher was offered, as a gesture of goodwill, instead of a full refund.
Fun but stressful
It was great fun and the instructors were nice and helpful, but the rest of it was awful. My rope got stuck on something, everyone started saying I was being silly, and I got super stressed and upset. Then, on the final zipwire, my hands got covered in blood. Some people did give me first aid however. Still, I'm never going to Go Ape Chessington ever again!

estate,with all my work colleagues,pretty much everyone was 40+,it was a great day and everyone really enjoyed it,I would recommend to anyone any age,thank you go ape for a great day

Junior treetop challenge
We came yesterday for a junior tree top adventure with our 6 year old grandson. He is autistic and non verbal and this was a big challenge for him. The staff from booking to the amazing instructor 'Matt' made it not just possible but also achievable and fun. A huge shout out and thank you for your patience and support.

Weather today is rainy windy together with thunder storm warning. Called to try cancel or reschedule only get the rude reply saying either you go or not none of their business to cancel.
Can I ask what if I get hit by a lighting during just because no one think it could be a thing? They just keep saying the venue is still open but excuse me it is only open because you guys want money and care 0 about safety!!!
I was having high hopes and planned this for my birthday with my friends. It completely ruined my day!!!

Thanks for taking the time to share your valuable thoughts and feedback. Go Ape is considered an "all weather" activity, and our forest doors will be open come rain or shine. The only time that we will close is when it is deemed unsafe to operate. High winds, thunderstorms, or thick ice tend to be the main cause. In these instances our team will be in touch with you ASAP via the contact number provided on your booking.
We're sorry to hear that you felt that your day had been ruined. Our site teams would have assessed the weather that morning before opening and would have been monitoring it throughout the day. The safety to both our customers and team is paramount to us. If the weather was deemed extreme and unsafe we would have cancelled all sessions and given you the opportunity to rebook at a later date or refunded you in full.
Two Weeks After Cancelling, Still No Refund
We were due to visit Go Ape Aberfoyle on June 16th, I received an email less than 24 hours before our booking to say they had to cancel due to an incident. This was no problem, we booked a different location, however two weeks later I have still not received a refund. I called on June 24th and was told it would take a further 3-5 working days, 5 days later and still nothing.

Day out!!! Becomes 1hour
We recently took the grandkids to go ape Normandy hall kids (10) and (7), the positives we all really enjoyed the experience, the guys giving advise spot on and the kids totally enjoyed the experience after a few jittery moments, now the negatives, it cost us £100 for the 4 of us, arrive there and then you have to pay another £5 for parking, you only get 1hour just enough time to do the 3 courses, it’s almost the same price as a full day out at a theme park!! Surely in the current climate where cost of living is so hard, why don’t you allow 1 hour in the morning and another hour in afternoon. So 1 it keeps people there and use the facilities you have so ultimately you probably make a little more profit, and 2 maybe 2 hours would be well worth it? It’s a lot of money for only 1hour enjoyment!!

Adventure in Cannock
Cannock. Great adventure for the grandchildren. They loved the challenge and really felt they had achieved something. The staff were so helpful and friendly, so important in reassuring the children. Special mention to Millie who was great!

Beechenhurst location - amazing day yesterday with my family, ALL staff so helpful/friendly and accommodating! Huge thank you to them all for making this a special day with my family from Australia. Nothing was too much of a problem. Can’t wait to go again and even I will attempt!

WARNING
WARNING! If your experience is cancelled due to poor weather, they will try to give you a voucher. REFUSE IT and ask for a refund instead. The vouchers they issue have an expiry date (which they will not tell you about). When I realised they did extend it, but by just one month. I reached out to them to say, I'd not been able to arrange an alternative location or date in that time but was told "we are not able to issue any further courtesy credit". Not able = unwilling to. Courtesy credit = money they have already taken from my bank account. I'm now nearly £100 out of pocket. I find it incomprehensible that a business which relies on high levels of customer satisfaction would be happy with this clearly underhand trick. Other reviews would suggest that this isn't an isolated incident.

If, in the event, we have to close due to really poor weather, we do issue a gift voucher. However, this is valid for three months and can be used to make a booking during that time frame and beyond.
We're not sure what's happened here so if you could send us an email to questions@goape.co.uk along with your original booking reference we'd be incredibly grateful. We can then follow up our end to investigate further.
No goodwill to customers
I purchased a gift voucher but unfortunately the voucher expired before I had a chance to use it. Despite asking customer services to refund or exchange the voucher, they would not do so as their terms snd conditions stated they were not obliged to. So they have taken my money for nothing in return. This is disgusting and in my eyes constitutes theft regardless of what their terms and conditions say. No goodwill to customers How are companies allowed to get away with this. Shaje on you Go Ape. Your customers are what keep your company going so treat them with respect.

Our gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date they are purchased. This provides people with a good amount of time to find a suitable date to book in with us. We also allow forward bookings to be made that extend beyond the expiry date - the adventure just needs to be booked before they time out.
Safety system failure at Cockfosters site
Our party of 3 kids and 2 adults went to GoApe in Cockfosters last Saturday to celebrate daughter's 13th birthday.
Halfway through the Treetop Challenge, the blue safety system trolley came off its cable where it had been attached with what looked like layers of strong tape. Luckily it came off while daughter was changing stations and not in the middle of a challenge. I was stunned but didn't want to make a big deal out of it in front of the kids. We alerted the staff and they climbed up to us and reattached a new trolley but daughter was shaken and this is someone who's been to GoApe a dozen times. It's heartbreaking to see her confidence shattered by the failure of the safety system at Cockfosters.
It begs the questions of how the harnesses are maintained and checked for safety, how often they are tested and inspected to ensure they are safe at all times.
I've been trying to reach the right people at Go Ape but without any success so far.

We can imagine this might have given both you and your daughter a bit of a fright at the time. Rest assured your daughter would have been perfectly safe. The strop, which the pulley is attached to, isn't part of the safety system. It keeps the pulley attached to the harness when it's not in use so people don't drop them. They do at times get a bit tatty when they rub against the metal cables. Our team should have explained this when attaching a new strop to the harness which has been duly noted so thank you for bringing this to our attention.
At Go Ape, we believe that every customer should have a great time and we would like to offer you and your daughter the chance to enjoy the full Go Ape experience again to regain her confidence. AMAZING staff at Chelmsford Go Ape
The staff at Chelmsford Hylands park Go Ape are AMAZING 🤩
I was there at 12pm on Sat. 17th Feb.
I struggled through some of the course and I had constant encouragement and advice from the staff on the ground. When I felt out of my comfort zone, they talked me through my options and with their kindness and encouragement, I was able to complete the whole course.
Without doubt, their intervention and support made the experience so much better.

Grannies Glory
It was my first time at Go Ape on Tuesday and I loved every second. My daughter and Grandson had been before to other locations of Go Ape, said that Bracknell is now their favourite location. Thank you to Jack for helping me up off my bum and to James and all the other incredibly friendly staff who made our time there, so enjoyable.

Staff made this a memorable experience
Went to the Leeds Castle one as a present for both my brothers as I had a great experience for my birthday a couple years ago. They both loved it and while all of the staff were incredibly polite and helpful, Martin, one the instructors, was absolutely phenomenal.
Martin followed us around the course as it was quiet, helped my wife with the pram around the steeper parts of the ground course and was great to speak to. All of the staff helped when one of my brothers got stuck on the zipline due to the cables getting twisted, he felt safe the whole time, the response was immediate and we continued on without any issues. My youngest brother was not concerned and still felt safe to follow on.
We'd all love to go back soon and hopefully we'll bump into Martin again.
