We're sorry to hear your order hasn't arrived as planned. Your order was shipped using DPD's next working day delivery. Having reviewed the tracking it would appear they made a couple of attempts to deliver and were unable to do so. The order is now on its way back to us. Many thanks for your review. Unfortunately, due dates on our website are not automatically updated through sales and occasionally there can be a delay in the status change through the server updates.
You placed your order on the afternoon of the Friday before the May bank holiday weekend and we emailed you first thing on the following Tuesday to let you know that there would be a delay in shipping.

Many thanks for your review. The bulbs you ordered from us were non-stock items and we were advised by the manufacturer after the stock order was placed with them that the bulb model was now discontinued and that there was no suitable alternative. We contacted you as soon as we had been alerted to this by the manufacturer and immediately refunded your order in full. I am sorry that we were not able to supply you with the item.

Poor customer service
We ordered over £100 worth of sockets and switches in readiness for our new kitchen to be installed and they arrived with no problem.
When the kitchen fitter arrived to install the new kitchen he informed me I'd ordered a couple of wrong switches.
I contacted Gil-Lec to see if I could return the 2 items and order the correct switches which are unopened in their original packaging.
Gil Lec informed me I could only return the items within 14 days and this had expired and to contact Hamiltons where the switches came from.
We contacted Hamiltons but they said it was up to Gil Lec to take the switches back and re-order as that is where we purchased them.
I wanted to be prepared and have everything ready for the kitchen installer so was unable to comply with the 14 day rule but contacted them as soon as the fitter advised me they needed to be changed.
I would hardly call this good customer service.

As a small family company, one star reviews are very damaging to our business. As a result I have personally looked into this for you. Your order was placed on the 29th January 2024, with the goods being dispatched 2 days later, having being special ordered in from Hamilton direct. These items are not a stocked line for us. You received the correct goods from us as ordered, in a timely fashion, with free carriage. On the 27th March, 2 months from the original order, you contacted us to return some of the items. We replied within 4 hours. Our returns policy, in line with your consumer rights for distance selling affords 14 days to return, as you kindly acknowledge. However, we aim to be as flexible as possible and for stocked items, my team will always look to assist our customers and accept returns over this date. With special ordered items, this is simply not possible as the cost to the business would be unsustainable. I am satisfied that throughout the transaction, you have received the level of service that we aim to deliver. I am sorry you are disappointed with the outcome. Brendon Gilbert, Director.
