Why I am removing this app from my desktop and mobile? Not merely because Grass failed to honor the promised 25,000 reward points for registering. Mainly because points are awarded and then rescinded, so your balance barely rises. And because it is extremely difficult to reach Grass to get any answers.

Hey Irwin. The referral program rewards referrals with 5000 points after reaching 100 hours of connected uptime, not 25k (registering alone does not provide any points). In regards to your other concern, Grass doesn't rescind earnings. Every day at 00:00 UTC theres a daily calculation process that occurs (which happens to everyone at the same time) which puts the dashboard into the next day. When this happens it looks like your points from the previous day vanish but they're actually being stored in your total epoch points but it can take 12-24hrs for those points to show up again.
In case you didn't know, if you head to your dashboard and look on the bottom right you can see a green chat bubble. That chat bubble will get you connected to our live Grass support team and can sort out whatever technical issue you may be facing. Sometimes our live agents are busy so I always recommend hanging out with our Grass community in discord (about 500k members) to talk about anything Grass and see what other Grassers are saying!

Could't agree more Mike! Running Grass on your desktop device while you use it is really easy and I often times forget I'm running it! The best thing about Grass on Android is that you can earn on the go by using your cellular network so you can always touch Grass no matter where you are. I'm really stoked you had a great experience with our Grass support team and I'm definitely going to pass along the feedback to them!

Hey Haider, you definitely got one of the best when it comes to support! Grass support is super easy to work with and always available (except weekends so we can touch Grass) to help if you got some unexpected issue goin' on. The great thing about the Grass app is that its just runs in the background while you use your device like normal. Im personally using it on my MacBook and it's super easy to see if it's connected with the bright green grass logo on my menu bar at the top. Again, really glad you got great support from our team and will be passing along that good feedback to them🌱

Wow even Bill Nye (the science guy) loves to touch Grass! And yeah, LCR is gonna be a game changer for AI. Live Context Retrieval will be able to provide AI models real-time, unbiased access to information on the internet thanks to millions and millions of users helping create a knowledge graph of the entire web! In order to achieve something like that Its super important to have a great community behind it with tons of great resources and support (like those you mentioned🌱). Really glad you've had a great experience so far and looking forward to what Grass has in store this year!

Company is not Efficient and Does not care about Customers.
GRASS Foundation HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their employees expect Canadians to have proof of their legitimacy and will only say "The proof is in the pudding"> However, CANADIANS DON'T HAVE THE PUDDING SO WHERE IS THE PROOF?
If you ask to many questions THEY END YOUR CHAT.
They do not provide any form of real answers as to why Payments to Canada are delayed. I doubt this company even cares about their customers. They just want us to earn them money and not be able to take care of ourselves.
This kind of program will attract a LOT OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES, and this company does not care. "We aren't here for that" it is complete bullshit that this company is even running with horrible customer service. Completely Greedy and Uncaring.

Hey Neg. I'm very confident that theres resources available to you that describe how Grass distributes rewards to users and all the other great questions we get. Sounds like we could do a better job with providing a more clear and concise answer, and I'd love to provide one here!
In case you weren't aware, Grass has already rewarded users for providing their unused bandwidth during stage 1 of development. On October 28th, 2024 Grass rewarded over 2m users with 100m Grass tokens which was the most widely distributed airdrop ever! We're currently in stage 2 which is all about building the key infrastructure needed to achieve an internet scale web crawl powered by millions of users (isn't that pretty cool?)
So long story short, users are rewarded at the end of the stage, which are development phases of the Grass network. The stage is made up of epochs which are typically 30 days each and are really just a way to track your contributions from epoch to epoch. SO, if you have discord I'll highly recommend getting connected with our community (over 470k members!); super knowledgeable place to hangout and discuss/learn anything about Grass. I hope this clears things up for you Neg and I hope to see you around!

Beware they are scammers and do not pay
I have tried Grass for 10 full months on my personal computer. I ran the app 24/7, paying for electricity bills and hardware usage, hoping to get a reward as they promise.
But in the end, I received nothing.
When I read their whitepaper, I found that they clearly write: “We are not responsible for the maintenance or damage of your equipment” – which means they only use your device and your electricity for their own benefit, and they don’t care about what you lose.
At the end of every season, they post a tweet pretending to “motivate” you, but in reality it is just a trick to make you forget about the airdrop and to keep you running your device and sharing your data for free.
The truth is they only care about selling your data and making profit, not about the community.
⚠️ Warning: Don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t run your device for months for nothing.
Grass is not a serious project and it never pays its users.
❌ Don’t waste your time.
❌ Don’t waste your electricity.
❌ Don’t risk your device.
🚨 Be careful – you’ve been warned

- Grass doesn't sell your data and participating in Grass doesnt' involve your data (just unused bandwidth)
-Grass is lightweight and designed to run on your device while you use it, so it takes advantage of resources you are already paying for!
- Users who contribute fairly to the network and are eligible are rewarded at the end of the stage, which is made up of many epochs
- Grass distributed 100m $GRASS tokens to over 2m users ($300m in value) for stage 1
- Again, Grass doesn't have anything to do with your data.
Like I said before, I'm sorry your experience hasn't been great and I hope you can give Grass another chance! I'm going to attach some resources that I'd love for you to check out that may change your mind on some things!

Hey AT! I've had a very similar experience myself. I run it on my MacBook and it consumes about 20-30mb of memory so it's not even noticeable! Since Grass runs so well while you use your device it's uncommon to really need any support BUT the support options on the dashboard are awesome and really help users troubleshoot really any issue we can think of! But hey, I really appreciate the feedback and wish you all the best in stage 2!

Get Grass is the only company true to their word. Sharing unused internet did really pay off for the first airdrop, and with constant development and expanding the network feels like swapping unused internet to pure gold. Great support team is always acceptable to resolve any issue.

Stage 1 was huge for Grass and a TON of users joined the network. Hey Crypto! I want to clear some things up if thats cool. You didn't receive any rewards because Grass rewards users after the stage concludes (not after epochs). In case you were curious, stages are major development phases of the Grass Network focused on democratizing public web data accessibility. Each Stage advances through network achievements rather than defined timeframes, containing many Epochs that progress from building core infrastructure to implementing comprehensive web crawling capabilities. I understand it's frustrating not getting rewards sooner but you're a part of something really cool and you're an early participant in Grass's mission to take back control of the internet.
In the meantime, all you have to do is keep the desktop or android app running while you use your device and thats it. I run the desktop app on my Mac while I'm working and often forget it's running. I'd love to invite you to our Grass community in discord and give you some resources that you can look into a little bit so you can get a better understanding of what Grass is all about.
Here's some resources for you to dive into and I'd highly highly recommend getting connected to our Grass community in discord so we can chat some more!

I have installed the windows client 2 days ago. suddenly noticed some programs not working properly. And found out it was because it was setting a proxy server. deleted grass, but the proxy still being set. I have tried everything. ps I a not a pc newbie so should have been an easy task

Unfair and Unreliable – Avoid This Service
I’ve had a terrible experience with this product. I’m based in Sweden and have used it consistently on two devices – both the Windows version and the mobile app – with no issues on my side. I have a very stable, high-speed internet connection and even tried mobile data, running it 24/7 without disconnecting.
Despite this, my points just keep disappearing for no reason. I went from 3,000 points down to 900, without changing anything. Points increase slowly, then suddenly drop within hours. It's extremely frustrating and feels completely unfair.
I haven’t used a VPN, any bots, scripts, or done anything against the rules. Still, they penalize you for nothing. This feels like a scam. I’ve stopped using it now, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of my points disappear by tomorrow.
I absolutely do not recommend this service.

Hey Anton! Hold up lemme explain. What it sounds like you are experiencing is the daily calculations which occur at 00:00 UTC and can take 12-24hrs to complete. During this process it looks like your points disappear (which can feel strange if you aren't expecting it) but they will return once those calculations finalize. Im glad you're using the desktop app and the new Android app! In order to maximize earnings you'll want to have each device on a separate network. I use the desktop app on wifi at my home and use cellular on the android app for when Im at home and on the go!
In regards to supporting you moving forward I would highly recommend reaching out to our official support team on your dashboard and look for the green bubble on the bottom right; this is really the best place to get 1 on 1 support. Id also recommend getting connected with the Grass discord community (over 450k members) and talking about all things Grass! Really great place to get support from the community if you'd like to chat and hangout.
