I purchased two Garden Gear cloches via Amazon in the packaging were leaflets advising me to register for an extra two year guarantee which I did.
Within a few weeks one of the zips had broken so I called Garden Gear to request a replacement cover, the phone operator told me they could do nothing as they were purchased through Amazon and I should contact them. I explained that I had registered for the guarantee but she still was not interested so what a useless bit of paperwork that is in the packaging.
I think the customer service from this company is appalling to sell through third parties and not honour the guarantee is appalling, avoid them like the plague.

I ordered a patio set that stupidly I did not read the description.So basically it was not what I needed whatsoever.So I phoned the company to cancel and got a really nice chap who did exactly that with no issues whatsoever.Really good customer service.

I bought the Garden Gear Rattan Daybed (product code 3720 3869) through Groupon. It was a tough build from flat pack when right at the end I found the part S from the bed canopy was faulty. I rang Garden Gear ( note on a premium charge number) who accepted the part was faulty and they would replace it. They then looked at my order and said because I had purchased it via Groupon I had to go through them. They admitted that Groupon would simply come back to them and then they would send the parts on. Very bureaucratic !! I went back to Groupon who told me to go back to Garden Gear. When I told them that GG had sent me to them, Groupon sent me on to another company where two weeks later I have heard nothing back at all. If Garden Gear had simply put the customer first and solved the problem I would be a lot happier. There must be many other people in my position so Garden Gear please send me my parts and do something about it. If Groupon need to know about your faulty parts - please tell them directly and stop wasting your customers valuable time - And try to make sure your parts are not faulty !

04/04/22 Update: Two weeks later and still no response. When I called your expensive premium line number I could have had the parts by now. Rather than hiding behind bureaucracy please just do the right thing and send me the replacements for the faulty parts...

I bought a weed burner to burn weeds between paving slabs. One use and it stopped working, never to go again. What more can I say?

I purchased the Garden Gear 3 in 1 Artificial Grass Vacuum Lightweight Blower Vac Garden Leaf Shredder but unfortunately after only 3 uses the motor overheated and burnt out. I immediately reported the problem to Garden Gear who responded straight away and arranged for the defective item to be collected informing me that they would provide a full refund, which they did. Although I was disappointed the item didn't last longer the service I received from Garden Gear was first class.

Ordered 25 Kg of HB peanut splits. through Amazon. Received confirmation that the order had been dispatched on 06 Jan 2022. Then again on 06 Jan2022 I received an email that there was a problem with the order and it would not be dispatched until 12 Jan 2022, as they had to reorder. Offered option of waiting for delivery or a refund. Selected option 'wait for'. On 08 Jan 2022 a delivery was received but only 50% of initial order' Contacted company through Amazon and later the same date received an email from the company that the order was dispatched on 06 Jan 2022. No other information supplied to clarify the confusion. Will never buy from this company again as it appears that they are unwilling to clarify the situation.
I have noticed that this review information about who wrote this review that I seem to be living in Thailand. This is wrong, I live in Sussex and ave not lived in Thailand since September 2018.

We have been waiting 2 weeks for this item. My wife had had appalling verbal abuse from their courier [Hermes]. They said they would report this to Whistl and get some answers but to date they've done nothing. We were told this would be redelivered...it never arrived. I specifically said that I DIDN’T want a refund, I just wanted what i had paid for. Then without referring to me at all, they just issued a refund. WHY? I suppose i should be grateful i actually got my money back. The level of customer service from this company is quite literally appalling. I'm going to post this review everywhere i can, because frankly they are a disgrace and if i can warn enough people about buying from them, maybe they'll get the message. The best advice i can give is avoid this company like the plague. Empty promises and non existent service. 1 star is waaay too much. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Excellent service once again! Placed an order Sunday.Received it Tuesday. Good quality screening for half price. Exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be returning customers and happy to recommend this company!

Bought a Serene Buddha water feature for a birthday present a few weeks' ago. As I had trouble assembling it I took it to someone in the village who is an engineer and after ten minutes he said that the figure and the electrical pumping/light components were incompatible and that it was never going to work because :
1. The base inside the buddha is not flat so the suckers on the pump will not stick
2. The tube which connects to the pump kinks when the pump is flat to the base.

I reluctantly kept this purchase as the plaster figure is quite good but am very sad that I parted company with so much money for something that doesn't work. I have learnt from this and will not be buying from GardenGear again.

Avoid them
First they don't update stocks
And when you order only then they tell you it will 2 months to get cuz they got no stock of items

Bought a garden strimmer then told it was out of stock and had to wait 2 weeks. When it arrived it had a part missing, instead of just sending the part I had to return the whole strimmer, in all this took a month of phone calls and emails. A week after I sent it back I phoned for the replacement and was told one would be posted out.
Two days later I received a email saying they were out of stock and more were not due for another four weeks! I ordered it at the beginning of the grass growing season but won't get it until the end of the season!

They charge extortionate amounts to contact customer services using a premium rate phone line, as recently pointed out in The Guardian Money section

Have got an electric weed burner from them, stopped working after just 2nd use, 2 months out of 1 year warranty, customer services just told me to..... Never again would buy from them, poor quality and extremely poor customer service.

I bought one of these trimmers and used it quite happily for nearly two years- it started vibrating noisily and became unusable, so I bought another one fro their eBay site. My (very organised) wife found the original user manual which showed the item has a TWO YEAR guarantee, I rang them up and they offered to send a replacement, which would not have suited as I’d bought a replacement - not a problem, they refunded me in full for the new machine - no quibbles or questions just great customer service

I totally agree with reviews already published. What a failure of a company this has turned out to be. Initially ordering an attachment for garden hose by telephone on premium rate no action from them ordered in April have contacted them frequently to no avail. Each time they have asked me the number of part etc. Not in stock should be in shortly. No standards at all should be strung up. fraudulently accepting payment for items which they do not honour or accept responsibility

Had their little 3.6V grass and hedge trimmer for 6 years and after LOTS of use it finally gave up the ghost this year. Contacted customer services on Monday to see if the design had changed - it hadn’t - so I ordered a replacement.
It was delivered on 3 days later on Thursday morning. Excellent response. Only complaint is that Customer Service phone number is an 0871 number so it’s chargeable. Still £1.85 wasn’t too much to pay to speak to a helpful person.

Do people not have a moral obligation to produce and sell stuff that lasts more than a year before it becomes landfill?

I have recently dealt with garden gear and they are a shower of “brown stuff” so beware

Firstly they say and item is in stock when it clearly is not, they take your money and a month or so later when you have sent endless emails and endless phone calls of which they do not answer

Secondly they send auto response emails from a company which are nothing to do with them

Make sure you use PayPal or a good credit card company to get your money back should things go wrong

“Garden crap” suits as a better name - good luck you will need it or plenty of time on your hands in prison suffering with long COVID or likes

Bought a stainless steel hose from QVC just over a year ago, the fittings became brittle and cracked so can no longer attach the spray gun and can’t stop the flow of water, QVC won’t help and advised me back to these guys for help, initially helpful and offered to send a replacement fitting (unique so you can’t just get a replacement anywhere), one month on and nothing, spoke to a really rude guy on the premium rate phone number as they are now ignoring my emails to be told “you aren’t our only customer you know, we don’t send spare parts so I don’t know why you have been told that”
Seems like it’s only designed to last a year and then they just don’t care.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I asked for an order to be cancelled within 15 minutes of my elderly mother in law ordering it. They sent it out regardless as well as the amended order.
Then tried to return by contacting amazon and garden gear. NO HELP WHATSOEVER. I have tried the company direct plus amazon plus Hermes to take it back directly with no luck. 80 pounds wasted! This company is awful! Happy to take money but not happy to help!!!!!!
