I had the most batshit crazy experience with the Haight St. store and Denny a few months back.

Ordered a $700 pair of boots.

Priority mail.

They got lost in the mail.

for weeks.

Staff assured me "they were coming that day" when they clearly - per usps - were not.

After a LOT of back and forth and gaslighting, Denny issued me a refund.

Then the shoes showed, weeks later.

He wanted to TAKE the refund away.

I'm 48 years old and have never heard of losing a refund.

Yes- I paid the bill (again).

Mainly because Denny was so - persistent - it was bordering on harassment.

There's something very wrong with how that store is being run.

I was visiting New York City from Europe and I wanted to take advantage of the great exchange rate (for Europeans, sorry Americans), so I walked around SoHo and went into almost every shop that seemed interesting.

John Fluevog was probably my favorite store. The staff are friendly and super helpful - they must have brought me 30 boxes of shoes in different sizes and were patient while I decided what I wanted. The shoes are unique and funky and they are so comfortable. I should have bought more than one pair. I wish we had one of these in my home country. Don't miss this store!!!

I bought a pair of boots in the second week of October 2024 as there was only 1 pair left in my size. Less than a week later the ENTIRE site went on sale for 15% off everything including sale items. When I asked for a price adjustment on my very recently purchased boots I was treated like a criminal and they refused. I had three items in my current collection and am a founding customer of this company and for all my loyalty and generosity over a span of 40 years I was treated like a walking wallet. I will NEVER buy from them again and DO NOT tell any of my friends or people who compliment my handbag and 3 pair of boots where I bought them. BOOOOOO for fluevog.

The shoes are fabulous...that goes without saying, but the customer service is very special indeed. Now they've closed their Amsterdam store, dealing with the Canadian shops on UK orders could've been problematic, but the opposite has proven to be the case - staff at the Edmonton and Montreal shops have followed up each order to personally check the sizing is correct before they press the green light and the order ships. The Edmonton store even threw in a pair of insoles just to be safe (much appreciated). Such attention to detail and duty of care is a rare thing these days and should be applauded. Well done guys. Your shoes rock and so do you.

Fluevog is a shoe store, not in money and insurance. I'm surprised they haven't utilized trustpilot yet as they are extremely customer centric. You can always get in touch with them during business hours, and they will work hard to solve your problems.
The shoes are INSANE. I think I have 22 pairs of Fluevogs as of March 2024, and they are all so different. Fluevog has the most unique looking shoes made with high quality materials. You don't have to lose the quality when the shoe is full of quantity too like usual. The shoes aren't cheap, but they aren't cheaply made. Average cost would be about $350usd, so not insanely expensive, but not cheap. In this world where we value the cheapness of stores like Temu, Wish, and Shein, stores like Fluevog are like an oasis in the middle of the desert. No, you won't get 10 pairs of shoes for $400, but you will get a piece of actual art to wear on your feet. Keep in mind, Fluevog shoes have minds of their own. They don't care about sizing. They all run so small for me. I have long, narrow feet, and though I'm usually a 9, I'm a 9.5/10 in all my Fluevogs. One pair is even an 11 and it fits. That part isn't so cool, but they let you know on the product page if the shoes run small or (rarely) large. The shoes are so sturdy, they always need to be broken in. I have to wear hose socks and use a shoe horn to put on any of the shoes. Not one is easy to get into, but the final result is so worth it. But see how needy they are? They're pretty, and they know it. They don't have to make things easy for us, we love them unconditionally. When you glance at the crazy foot covers you've bought for yourself, you'll use a chainsaw to get into them, if necessary because you'll feel compelled to wear them as much as you can. I have two pairs of shoes that have blues, greens, and purples, but they are still the opposite of each other somehow. Pink boots, green boots, red oxfords, you name it. They just have everything and nada at the same time. You will not be disappointed if you shop here, and if you have an actual store within 50 miles of you, I AM JEALOUS.
Customer service is just as amazing as the shoes. They are real people with real personalities. You can tell they look for a certain kind of person to hire there. Everyone is laid back but knowledgeable and not super professional, but in the best way. You feel like you're talking to your friends when you speak to anyone who works for Fluevog. It's awesome. They also correct mistakes quickly, and they truly seem to care whether YOU care. I love that about this company. 100% trustworthy and legit shoes!
