Formula One Autocentres - Shipley Anmeldelser 

I have previously had my MOT completed here and the experience was good. Took my car back in for 4 new tyres cross climates 2+, while the tyres were being fitted they checked the wheel alignment and said it was out of alignment.
They showed me a printout of the alignment and completed the front alignment only. The rear could not be done as it was “not normal”. On the way home the car was driving left like a crab! Took it back and they adjusted again.
I was not happy so took it for a full alignment at a different garage.
This garage stated..”who did this work, it’s completely out and will wear your tyres out super quickly”. The rear is also within spec.

So it appears like they don’t know how to do wheel alignment.

I asked for a refund from head office to be referred to Shipley who said it was head office but promised a refund. I have not received a refund.

Update: f1 have contacted me to arrange refund and to get some detailed comments. They are addressing the issue with the branch, so got to give them credit for that.

Still waiting for the refund, looks like it was all a PR stunt to get me to post an update to this review.

Would I go back to f1, NO.

Would I go to a different garage: YES.

Sorry to say they lost my business.

Had my car MOT’d at the Shipley branch. Lovely staff. Very polite, courteous and helpful. Reasonable price. Will definitely use them again. Thank you

Went here with my brand new alloy wheels to have them fitted to my vehicle only to find they damaged them whilst fitting. There was no apology NOTHING when confronting the manager all I then got was verbal abuse ,they took my money and the not interested I would never recommend RANK AMATEURS

Easy to book service & mot on line Friday evening for Saturday. Dropped off. Phone call to explain work required & price . Picked up end of day jobs completed. Easy

I booked my Vauxhall Astra in on Saturday 4th Feb for a new battery fitting to be told that it would be approx £180.00. Which seemed incredibly expensive but it was needed and so I proceeded with the work. I collected the car that afternoon and it turned out that the price was incorrect and it was approx £130.00. All well and good you may think, until I went to start the car yesterday (Sunday 5th Feb)!! No power - looked as if the alternator had gone. I've called out my breakdown company today and guess what...... the battery wasn't even tightened up correctly hence no power!! How to make me look stupid, cost me for a call out and they get £130 for a shoddy job. Called the Shipley branch and all I got was Oh, Ok! sorry I'll have a word with the fitter - no offer of recompense or anything...... certainly won't be taking any of our cars back there. Bunch of Cowboys!!

F1 - have now been in touch with me and have apologised profusely and will be putting systems in place whereby the same situation cannot arise again for another customer. I appreciate the apology, but I can still only leave the 1* as that reflects how I felt at the time.

First time using this place and never again. Firstly the staff were friendly enough however I went in with an engine light on the dashboard, I was advised I had a misfire and to rectify the issue they had to replace the coils and spark plugs, costing £400. I paid and a few hours later, I drove away. Within 5 minutes of driving home the engine light came back on. I took it back in to be told the light was a result of an error code from the passenger door lock not working. Hesitant as I was, he cleared the codes and I said okay and drove away again. 10 minutes later my exhausts starts popping, the car was vibrating and the engine light was flashing.
I took it back in, after 15 minutes of two engineers looking at it and a manager, I was told it was fixed. Apparently the cables were not firmly put together. The technician drove it around, came back and told me it was fixed.
I waited another 10 minutes before I drove off to have the same light come back. I left it with them for another day to be told its some rubber clips, its some missing nails. Then they think its the injector or wiring but their not electricians so they can’t fix it.

So firstly they should have been transparent when they took the job and explained with misfires it could be a number of different things.

Company emailed to offer me £100 refund and states “diagnoising misfires are not black and white” there yoy have it… thats my point. The technicians shouldnt have told me to fix the issue i needed to pay £400 as it was spark plugs and coils… they should have said it could be a numbers of things. Taking this furthur….

Ordered tyres that were fitted on tuesday at 1:00 got an email saying they may be late. Once i got there the service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic. Definitely using again.

Arrived 6 minutes late due to Monday traffic, as I tried to apologise the very unprofessional, rude worker who clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed spoke in such a disgusting manner that I was basically forced to leave. I would never return or recommend this business. Such a horrible experience for a first time user.

I have used Formula One for mot and full service, very good customer service,price reasonable,the only negative is that because they are a busy garage you will have to wait awhile for the work to be completed

Just went into Shipley branch as my valve was ( I thought broken) AZ came to my aid straight away and repaired it, he was helpful,and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble, I will definitely return, if I need anything in the future. Thank you AZ

AVOID! AVOID!! AVOID!!!
Took car in because it squeaked when I go over speedbumps which I was told could be fixed...Needless to say it wasn't fixed after spending north of £400. Angry at this point went back and took the mechanic out for a drive so he can diagnosed the problem, hrs later picked car up and the issue still persist which was further compounded by squeaky sound with brakes. Waste of money and time on this bunch of incompetents who don't seem to know what they're doing!

Two new tyres fitted to front. I also had two aluminium dust caps seized on the rear wheels. The young chap at the Shipley branch went above and beyond my expectations by removing the seized dust caps. I was more than pleased with this as they had caused me concern. He also tested all the TPMS monitors. I can not remember the chaps name but he deserves a medal.

My car was booked in for 4 new tyres and Az, the Manager, offered a free wheel alignment check. I explained my alignment had been checked and adjusted by Kwik Fit just a few days prior but Az offered to double check it anyway. The rear alignment was still significantly out which Kwik Fit said could not be adjusted - Az advised this was not the case so I took the car back to Kwik Fit who then (unsurprisingly!) adjusted the rear alignment.

The service at Formula One Shipley was outstanding and led to my alignment being properly sorted. The new tyres were fitted without an issue - I would highly recommend.

The car (a 2005 Nissan Micra) had been left in a private multi-storey car park throughout the whole pandemic (don't ask). It was completely immobile, flat battery, perished tyres +++++. Formula One Autocentres in Shipley housed the car for over a month while they MOT'd it and agreed all the repair work with me. They even kept it for a week or two longer until I had a chance to travel up from the south to collect it. They were immensely thorough, and explained all necessary repairs, while keeping me fully informed about progress. They were friendly and helpful at all times, and kept the costs down wherever possible. The car now goes very sweetly - more so than originally! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Formula One Autocentres in Shipley.

Took our 18-year-old Volvo to the Shipley branch for its MOT. At all times I was kept fully informed as to what was happening and what additional works were needed to get the car through the MOT (not straight forwards given the age of the car and the availability of parts needed). All I can say is the team worked their socks off and we received a fantastic service.

Having found myself miles from home with a puncture I was turned away by Halfords, National and Kwik Fit. Getting really worried about the tyre pressure, or lack of I came across Formula One in Shipley. When they said they could help me I could have cried with relief (ok, my eyes did leak a little!) The lovely staff took my car and fixed my puncture. They really could not have been nicer. Polite, professional and super efficient

Can’t recommend them highly enough

The Shipley branch did a first class job on my car, they definitely went the extra mile (especially Nathan) and his team to get my car up and running in order to get my wife to hospital after an urgent call.
