Went there this morning to get my exhaust checked out.
First class service along all the steps taken.

Took my son's car into the Chelmsford Branch for a MOT. It failed and they said it would be around £600 to fix it !!!!.
Took the car to another garage and got them to check everything on the list was warranted as a failure.....IT WASN'T !!!.
The brake pad they failed it on, you couldn't see so how could they fail it..... I asked but the guy at Formula One said he didn't do it so couldn't answer and he was from another site so dont know how they work, but he would ask the Chelmsford Manager to ring us on Monday, but yep you guessed it HE NEVER DID ! !.....An MOT is a MOT and ALL the guidelines are set by the DVSA. All MOT trained techs go by this (well they should do).
They have been reported to the governing body so hopefully they will spot check them and catch them out lying.
Customer service is terrible and they over charge for repairs. WILL NOT be going there again and will spread the word to everyone i know to stear clear of them.

They told me I needed work done to my car that totalled over £1000. When I told them I’d like to get a second opinion they told me my car was unsafe to drive! I decided to chance it and go to another garage for a second opinion and they told me the work would cost me £250!! Formula one was going to charge me 4 times more. Disgusting! Shame on your formula one

Have used this company for a few years now first Brentwood branch until they start messing about and keep you waiting and telling untruths
So started using Chelmsford branch been ok till yesterday booked in for full service and other bits mot and clean and re gas
A week ago paid nearly £600 yesterday I phone up at 14.00 as I hadn’t heard anything to find out it failed mot due to tyre fine replace then they phone at 16.30 vehicle ready to be collected
Collect vehicle at 17.30 to be told they haven’t re gassed air con as they couldn’t get the gas so they have to notify head office for a refund which takes 5-7 working days why not take of the bill which I had to pay another £175 for tyre and tracking and also why not tell me they couldn’t get the gas when I phoned them so I had time to find elsewhere especially as I’m going to Worcester the weekend 3 1/2 hours there and back
Popped back in today as wasn’t given full invoice told me he’d already sent it by email asked why they didn’t have gas in stock considering I booked a week in advance and try and get it on the day apparently they don’t know what gas you’re having until the day even though you put your reg number down also mentioned that Kwik fit and Halfords had gas and told that I should go there to which I will o I my brakes still judder which I told them about sorry but the money they charge you think you get a better service
Looks like I’m looking for another garage because I won’t use them again or recommend

Book vehicle in for 3pm for 4 tyres my car was not started until 4.40pm even tho I was sitting and waiting. Very rude gentlemen. Do not recommend

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received for my recent MOT test and will not be returning in future (I’ve gone the last 3 years for my MOTs).

My car failed its MOT due to fogged headlamps. I was immediately advised I needed £400 worth of replacement headlamps/labour which was presented as necessary to pass the MOT. The technician was shocked when I mentioned I had restored my headlamps before and was somewhat knowledgeable on the process of sanding down and polishing the acrylic of the lamps. He then quoted me £120 just to restore the headlights.

I took the car home, where a professional technician visited and fully restored the lamps for a total of £60 - he also commented that they were not in a very bad condition to start with.

My vehicle then passed its MOT without any issue at another local test centre.

As a young, female driver, I find it concerning I was immediately advised to spend hundreds of pounds on unnecessary replacements when a simple and inexpensive repair was all that was needed. It felt misleading and opportunistic, aimed at somebody they believed would not know any better.

I would strongly recommend that anyone using this centre seek a second opinion before agreeing to costly repairs, especially younger or less experienced drivers who may feel pressured into accepting expensive solutions.

I’ve used F1 for years for services, MOTs, tyres etc. Great service. Now I have a yellow engine light on so booked it in for diagnostics. Specifically the guy said 2pm. When I got there the chap in charge was like oh no you have to leave it - I’ve only got a couple of people. In other words there is no point in having a booking system and they just wasted my time. The woman said we don’t have people wait - but they do - for tyres and MOTs. It only takes 30 minutes for the diagnostic check so what’s the difference. I don’t live close so what was I supposed to do. I’m sure they won’t care but I will not be going back for any work in the future.

Chenise from the customer support team has been extremely prompt and supportive in raising my concerns with the relevant team. As a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused by multiple visits for wheel alignment, Chenise assisted me in securing a partial refund for the service.

Greeted with a smile from Debbie and job was completed within 15mins. Thanks very much to the team at Formula One chelmsford. 😊

Visited Formula One Chelmsford as had air con recharge and clean and exhaust heat shield rattle booked in. Immediately welcomed by the lovely Debbie on reception, who as always was kind, courteous and thoroughly professional. The technicians carried out the work quickly and when I drove my car away the air con was lovely and cold again with a pleasant fragrance. The rattling heat shield was once again secured so I now have my cool, fragrant and quiet car which I love driving. Excellent service from Robjohns Road, Chelmsford as always. To find an autocentre I trust and feel happy with is very important to me. Very happy customer who will return. Thanks F1.

What a nice bunch of people! Went to get new BMW wiper blades. They would have had to order them so gave me the name of a supplier to get them quickly and offered to fit them for me for free! Fantastic customer service. Deserving of a 5 star. Thank you.

The staff at Chelmsford were very friendly and helpful.
I brought in a Classic Mini 10 inch wheel with a slow puncture. The staff were able to diagnose and sort out the problem while I waited. - Nobody could ever ask for more than that!

Been using F1 Autocentre Chelmsford for many years. Staff are always helpful, courteous and friendly. Work is always carried out to a good standard and pricing is competetive. Even when busy they will endeavour to assist.

Such a great garage, sorted a puncture out for me as a gesture of good will. Thanks guys, will make sure you get my future custom.
