Appalling customer service
Enquired over the phone about a car in Wakefield and was told if I bought it it would be ready for a quick turn around so I could have it in a day or two. When I got to the branch, the salesman knew nothing about the car and eventually I found the vehicle had body work that needed repairing and a faulty control unit that the branch could not give a timescale for repair. They knew I was travelling a long distance to view the vehicle, but still wasted a day of my time and train tickets. Appalling customer service

Good price for "value" service. However Service engineer recommended unnecessary work, which I declined. Also car not cleaned inside or outside as requested and on job sheet.

"Prepared to the highest standards" Evans Halshaw website 2026 😂
After a bad experience with a private purchase we bought a car from here as a reputable company and within 3 weeks the exhaust fell off. The day after it was repaired and returned to us the gearbox / fly wheel went (it also needed brake fuel addinh). There was a lot of back and forth just to get it back to them to look at it.
After those repairs we had it a few more months before both trailing arm bushes went, drive shaft was leaking, tracking realignment, heat shield needed reattaching and the brake fluid needed topping up again. It spent two weeks in Evans Halshaw garage with nothing happening while they discussed the pointless warranty they had sold us between themselves. At which point we lost all faith in them and took it to our usual garage where they fixed the problems for less than quoted by EH but also found that the gearbox bolts that had been installed when they fixed the gearbox were loose.
Overall it has probably spent at least a month being repaired out of the 8 months we have had it.
I know it's a second hand car but you would think you could at least get it it to its first MOT with all the "Comprehensive mechanical and electrical inspections ... carried out by our qualified technicians utilising the latest diagnostic equipment." Evans Halshaw website 2026.
Absolute shambles from start to (hopefully) finish.
