We didn't go into Evans Halshaw with the intention to buy a new car. We originally went to see a used Citroen we had seen on line. As we were leaving Jacob asked if he could help. He was very honest with us when he said he would like to sell us a new car if he could! We decided to sit down and go through the options/numbers. Jacob took us through everything step by step and was very diligent in his efforts to give us what we wanted/needed from the new car. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jacob and the dealership to anyone thinking of buying a new car. We are grateful to Jacob for taking care of us throughout the whole process.

Worst car dealership experience of my life, will never visit Evans Halshaw again. Saw a used car on line so drove over to view it, 100 mile trip. Salesman possessed zero knowledge about the cars he was selling, the vehicle was presented in a dirty condition. The interior had most of the previous owners, and his dogs meals still under the seats, and in the boot, oh don’t worry we will valet it before you take delivery said the salesman. Too late for that mate the damage to your reputation has ready been done, and it’s not as if the car has just arrived I know it has been on your web site for at least 3 weeks.
Carpet worn through, drivers seat cracked, none of that in the photos of course, no negotiation on the price allowed, just platitudes about if I find an identical car in a week within 50 miles they might refund the difference, blah blah.
But the icing on the cake was when he told me that by the way the price on the windscreen isn’t now valid, we adjusted all the prices yesterday and it has now gone up by hundreds of pounds. No thank you, goodbye, these are the practices of fly by night Arthur Daley types from decades ago, shameful.

Purchased a car from them and had it delivered to me, straight away noticed that there was a problem with the clutch and a petrol smell throughout the car - thought i would give it a few days to see if the problems went away but this wasnt the case. I sent an email to the complaints team and notified that as it was within the 7 day return period I either wanted a full refund or someone to pick the car up, repair it and return it, of course i have not had a response almost a week later. I am not going to drive the car 1 hour to my closest EH branch, wait for 5 hours and then drive it back for the problem to not even be resolved as the branch doesnt have VW parts... Fully willing to return the vehicle now under consumer act unless this can be resolved ASAP.

Peugeot York - worst customer service ever! If I could leave 0 star I would.

Neither the team member or manager was willing to work to get a sale. Their policy is ….test drive the car… we won’t give you a price for PCP or HP options unless you tell us you are buying the car today. Oh and they won’t tell you what they will offer you part ex unless your buying the car that day.

Absolute joke. No customer service at all. The manager didn’t even help. The staff have a really bad ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude.

We walked away from a car we were very willing to buy today because of poor service.

I bought a car from this joke of a dealership in May this year for just shy of £10k, in the first 13weeks of owning the car it has spent 9weeks off the road!

I was dealt with by an incompetent salesman with ginger hair and glasses who told lies upon lies, I explained the car was being bought to be a driving school car from the day one, with this in mind the liar knew both Asset Protection Insurance (API) and extended mechanical warranty we’re not worth the paper they we’re written on. This did not stop him pushing ahead with trying to sell them, I flatly refused API as I quoted clauses in the product and not only that my business insurance broker includes this product anyway, he assured me I was wrong! He hard pressed me to buy the mechanical warranty despite me having serious concerns it was fit for purpose, his words were “I assure you it’s fully viable to a driving instructor I’ve sold the same product to my father who’s a driving instructor”. Yet with all the problems I’ve had with the car and the dealer principal ignoring my calls I tried to return the vehicle within the first 14days which the dealership principal (who’s name I’ve had to remove but is on their website) flatly refused. All HE did was get the incompetent ginger salesman (pathological liar) to telephone my wife whilst the car was sat in their car park “asking for bank details to arrange a refund” he never confirmed what the refund was for just that he’d been asked to call! The refund was a cover up and returned £599 the warranty money realising he had lied and miss sold the product. Since that day nobody from conman cars has returned any call or emails. My advice is stay well clear these of these liars neither are fit to sell newspapers let alone cars!

Oh by the way liar the car is now running fine after spending a month at another “reputable Peugeot dealership” diagnosing and fixing problems that you sold the car with. Oh and thank you for reporting my “honest and frank review” and having your names removed. I notice when people post a 5star review names are acceptable by the company! Had I received an excellent experience this review would have been different.

First thing is when you buy and pay in full for a car online and monday delivery is offered thats when i expect and signed up for a car so poor on that point. Second point, selected all the options i wanted/didnt want yet salesman still bangs on about them, why ask me online if going to ignore it completely? Car walkround looked great, when car arrived there was a ding in the back passenger side, a crack in the drivers mirror, poorly touched up repair to bootlip and when looking at video again these are areas kept out video on detail. Also guy mentions alloys and a certain brand of tyres - yet this wasnt the case they are different - very misleading, not to mention a tire dropping 10psi a week which had the usual white paste on it in video so obviously been a new tyre and not sealed properly. Thats not to mention on day of delivery i had a voicemail left from salesman stating he would phone in a few days to see how i was getting on with the car. This hasnt happened 11 days later. Having bought my last 3 nearly new cars from evans halshaw and one years ago and had a good enough experience i wont be back. Oh and car has been valeted 😂 dont make me laugh - a hoover from a child perhaps but crumbs in the centre storage and a few other compartments. They stated that the car would be “fully sanitised upon arrival, having met the delivery driver upon arrival i witnessed no sanitisation what so ever from him, still finger prints on the touchscreen. Very disappinted overall. Especially with the mirror cover as the part is £20 and for a garage to spray a new mirror cap it would of been next to nothing. Just as quick as they can move a car on and poor aftercare/none so far. Mind you i dont really want to deal with the york garage again if any contact from evans halshaw which i doubt.
