3 weeks ago I found a particular car my wife wanted on line. OK it was 150 miles away, but what the heck...........she's bigger than me. Over the phone the salesman, assured me the car was in perfect condition, after all it had only done 800 miles. I left a £500 deposit and we traveled up to collect it a couple of weeks later. The salesman who shall remain nameless, but he knows who he is, was doing his best but it was obvious he couldn't act without constantly checking with his manager.. There was virtually no continuity of conversation. He just wanted my signature and me out the door. When he showed us the car, it was filthy and had clearly not been wiped down following days possibly weeks out in the elements. However we went for a test drive and my wife liked it. But, on getting out of the car, she noticed a considerable gouge on the offside front bumper. Shouldn't a salesman make sure the car he is trying to sell is in a presentable condition??? After spluttering apologies saying it was something he had no knowledge of he assured me the damage would be repaired to my satisfaction and I should come back a week later. Naturally I took exception to this. After more spluttering and visits backwards and forwards for consultation with, I presume his manager, the salesman agreed to personally deliver the car to my home. OK.........deal eventually done. It was at this point that I impressed on the salesman several times that the car should be registered in my wifes name. It is her car. Not mine. Again I had assurances that it would. I repeated the car should be registered in my wife's name during a phone call 4 days before it was delivered. Car delivered today 18/1/2026. Guess what folks...it's been registered in my name, consequently it will show another previous owner on the V5C when we change ownership to my wife. I pointed this out to the salesman who argued the toss that it wouldn't. Clearly he is not very conversant with his trade. Why am I so annoyed.......because before I retired 22 years ago I had spent 40 years in the retail motor industry, rising to General Sales Manager of............Evans Halshaw in Birmingham. I know how the job should be done. The whole experience was a battle and very disappointing. . Would I recommend Evans Halshaw Grantham,??? Not on your life

Very helpful and I received a courtesy call reminder for my appointment. The test results and health check on my vehicle sent to me as they were carried out

I was sold a faulty car where 1 week later the under tray fell off on my partner at high speed spinning the car out of control. later to find it had been cable tied on.

4 weeks of arguing the case with incompetent staff where one of them told me it’s acceptable to cable tie loose parts for a sale i finally decided to return the car.

Numerous times i asked for a health check on the vehicle but they declined every time. Very suspicious to me. Obviously hiding something.

They were due to collect on said day in the morning for our money to be refunded same day so i could buy a car before i went away. Car collected after work hours and refund was 5 days later meaning again no car for an additional two days after returning from
our break

After spending hundreds on taxis through the month of no car and without an apology from staff until the very end i was offered a measly £400 compensation.

Don’t use this company.

A very helpful sales guy. Nathan. Efficient, called back , when he said he would. Relatively easy transaction.No 3hr conversations. To the point talking. Nice petsonal service. I would recommend talking to Nathan,if you sre looking for a used MG. Enjoying my purchade

Had my car over for servicing, unfortunately the car needed to stay over a few days to have certain things fixed. I was given a courtesy car which was more than adequate and when things were completed, everything ended seemlesly.
Special mention of Rachel and Martin, who worked as customer service agent, they were very friendly and their positive interactions took the edge off, their team must be fortunate to have them around. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Staff are very helpful and kept informed of progress of my service progress but puncher repair expensive

Pre sale it was a godd experience - if a little long
Post sale has been awful - constant chasing and it became apparent they weren't bothered - the sale had been made
I wouldn't recommend given this post sale experience - go elsewhere

My wife bought a 2017 Mini Clubman Cooper S, Auto, Petrol, from Evans Halshaw - MG Grantham, which I picked up. I found the experience simple and a fair price was asked and paid. Joseph Cannon answered all of my questions and assisted me with all the details and functions of the car. I had a 440 mile journey home to the North of Scotland which this car dealt with well. I think that is a pretty good test drive to access the car's ability. We would like to thank Joseph for all of of his help during and after this purchase. Brgds John Watson👍

Wow! What a lovely experience. Max was warm and welcoming from the very first phone call and throughout the entire process. No hidden agenda, just gave me all the information and advice I needed. There was no pressure or hurry to make a decision. Max is an asset to the company and I wish him well in the future.

Put a reserve on a 72 plate corsa..went to view it..only to see that the front grill had been damaged and had been told was immaculate..been 3 week now and know deposit back..twice they've said that the bank details are not correct and with a smiley emoji..the bank details are correct and still waiting
