Don't touch this garage. Shocking customer service and even worse parts and service department. Had countless problems over a single repair issue - a plastic wheel arch trim that has fallen off three times after each repair. I was told it might be my driving style that's causing it! Parts take an age to arrive, communication is diabolical.

Lacklustre service and not terribly professional

Amazing staff on the service desk - always really helpful. Everything is explained and vehicles returned cleaned. All excellent.

Great customer service pleased with work done on my car can't fault them highly recommend citroen Evan halshaw.

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. If anything needs to be done to your car they explain it all.

My dad is 90yrs old and he has decided time is up on is driving.So we took is Vauxhall Merida to Evan’s halshaw Clifton moor to be sold. Drew looked after us he was brilliant and very patient with us and offered a decent price for the car. So thanks so much and especially to Drew .

Terrible customer service!
We bought a car in July 22 - the engine quit on us at the end of September. We paid for the 3 year guarantee which includes courtesy car and obviously repair within reason. We had to wait until the 2nd of November for the car to even be taken into the garage to which point I am now still waiting for them to contact me (11th November).
After speaking to Evans Halshaw they have told me that there are no courtrsy cars anywhere within the company and it is my problem, not theirs, to sort one. They have also put the phone down on me several times as it is "closing time". They have offered NO support and even when emailed, they have stil not sorted the courtesy car.
This situation could have been handled a lot better and with more care as I am now without a car which is effecting work (I live in a village with sporadic public transport).

Formal complaint is now in and the relevant companies have been notified to take further.

If 0 stars was an option, I would go for that.
Reserved a car on 16/7 and paid £100 deposit at Darlington Evans Halshaw Citroen. At this time I was told my car would arrive mid October, which I was perfectly fine with.

The person I was dealing with, Thomas had a few back and forths with me during this time. On the 26/9 I was informed that my car would be there in a week, given my registration of the new car and was asked to sign finance documents. Naively I did. A week later, no car. I contacted Thomas again asking for an update, I was told a few days and it would be here as it had just arrived in the country. I questioned this, as I had initially been told it was being delivered to me in a week. 1 week later when I hadn’t heard anything. When I did, my email bounced back saying that the email address didn’t exist anymore. I contacted the dealership, and was informed by someone called Nathan that Thomas no longer works there and that the dealership had been closed.
I explained the situation and he did not understand why I had been made to sign documents etc. He informed me that my car should be there within 2 weeks (17th ish October).
At this point I contacted Citroen customer care who could not locate the vehicle or any paper trace of the car.

Fast forward to 30/10 still no car. I had to ring the York dealership as that was the closest to me and verbally told them I did not want the car and wished to cancel my order. My initial call was at 9.05am. I gave verbal instructions to cancel my order, to numerous members of staff. At this point the dealership informed me that the car was not on site and still at the port. Delivery would be in the next week or 2 as they are clearing backlogs of cars. I was told I needed to speak to the sales manager by Ben. He was apparently busy and that the sales manager would call me back. He did not call me back.
The following day 31/10 I called again, informed them I wished to cancel the order. Ben told me the manager was on annual leave until Monday 6/11 and I had to deal with him, but he couldn’t do anything until he was back. He told me I could not cancel the order and laughed at me saying there was no way I was getting out of it. I had to have the car. I again gave verbal instruction followed up by a email stating I did not want the car. The car has of the 31/10 according to the government website been taxed and registered to me. The car is still not at the dealership. This is after I stated I wanted to refuse the car.

I called the finance company on 31/10 explaining the situation and registered a complaint with them and was told to contact my bank. I was supposed to be trading my old car in for this new one and my old finance was still live, the new one not. I did this. I have also contacted Evans Halshaw directly to complain.

Today, I have logged into my online finance account. And the dealership have put the new cars finance live as of 31/10. They have paid my current car off, which is sat on my drive and set everything up for the new car. Which isn’t even at the dealership!!!! Yet registered to me, and finance signed off.

They are charging me for a product I do not want or even have. No one is getting back to me and Ben and the York Evans Halshaw Citroen are using bullying behaviour making it as difficult as possible for me not to have this car.

How can they charge you for a car and pay off finance when the new car has not arrived.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

All visits are organised and smooth. Even when I identified a problem with the car which was intermittent Neil went out of his way to help.

A very welcoming friendly place to visit. All my queries were dealt with in a very professional manner.

Really bad. Spent 18k outright on a car for it to be parked out the back and not cleaned inside.and I was also waiting hours to be seen when arrived. That’s just for starters.. they gave me it with ZERO petrol - then 7mins into taking the car home.. broke down in the middle of a busy road. Electrical problems. This car clearly wasn’t looked at properly. I was stranded waiting for them to arrange a tow truck for over 2 hours! Explaining to them I have a new born at home and needed to be back asap as I live 3 hours away. No one offered to come wait with the car. And was me that had to keep calling to see what was going on!

They offered half a tank of fuel and delivery as a gesture which I would thought would be MINIMUM. car delivered couple days later after me calling them for updates all the time. Car came with zero fuel. Then they said here’s £30 for fuel. £30 is not half a tank in a jeep!
Overall they seem uninterested after I pad. Awful place
