Energie Fitness - Midleton Anmeldelser 

I recently joined Energie Fitness in Midleton. I am so impressed with the instructors who have been so helpful getting me back into my fitness routine which had lapsed for a while. The classes are great and the gym space is well organised and very clean. So far, I have no complaints and look forward to improving my fitness with the help of these professionals!!

Staff are always very helpful, always feel confident to ask them questions.

Facilities are very clean.

Gym is layout is very convenient and allows you personal space to complete sets.

Good gym, good equipment and helpful personnel. Great value for money.

The gym is well laid out, clean and very efficiently run, the staff are friendly and professional. I find the classes great. I’m really enjoying the experience so far.

I left it a while to leave a review to see if the staff actually cared about its members leaving or their complaints listened to. I was a member for three years at this gym and things went from bad to worse in my view. I found the staff with exception to one or two very cliquey tbh and devoid themselves of any responsibility, I did not find then friendly as I think they engaged in conversation once or maybe twice and tended to either spend most of their time in the back office, on the stool next to it or in a class. Their idea of assisting people is to show them some of the equipment on the first day but after that you are on your own. The hours before the pandemic were excellent but after that they were rubbish requiring you to book in the app. The weird thing was they hardly asked me for my booking or covid cert when it was required, i had to chase them to show it They hoover the gym but don't actively clean the equipment, they just hoover near closing time and top up paper towel etc... They don't watch members personal behaviour or hygiene either. I used to see younger members in their teens pushing themselves all around the gym and not a word said to them. A lot of members used to not clean the equipment or sterilise and this went unnoticed by the staff or was not acted on. The final straw for me was when I was chased around the gym by Alex who wanted to tell me off for using the cable machine for too long. There are three cable machines which tend to brake and the maintenance is not good so they stay broken for long periods of time, the last time was 9 weeks. On the machine i was using, there are 6 exercises shown and to do 12 reps, 6 times on each exercise takes time but Alex had an issue with this unfortunately cause one of his friends made a complaint to him about it. Alex decided to go down the gym etiquette route with his argument but I asked him if I had broken the rules, he replied no. He spent 15 minutes moaning to me on gym etiquette advising that he would get Jamie to put them up on the wall for all to see. I asked him about people not cleaning the gym or social distancing and his response was actually amazing, he said it was my responsibility to tell him.....lol. So if you go to this gym and pay money to this company and be a loyal member, you are restricted in the time you can use the equipment and your safety and hygiene is dependant on you with no onus on the employees and management. I found him argumentative and abrupt. Needless to say I cancelled my membership with immediate effect and when I was asked why, I told them above. I got no response. I had asked them for confirmation of cancellation and they did not provide that either until I had to chase it later. The main problem with this gym are the toxic indifferent staff and it was quite clear that Alex did not want me there as a member anymore with his maky uppy rules. Not one word of apology, not one acknowledgement that I had any rights or view, alex even described some pieces of equipment as crap which is why his buddy was complaining.

I moved gym and have not had an issue since and the one thing I did notice were 11 other former regular gym goers move to the same gym I moved to.

I also know one staff member in there and was advised by that person that they hate it in there and use another gym to work out because that person hates it so much.

The equipment in there I found are a bit limited tbh as before this I worked out in gyms in such places as london hilton, grand hyatte doha and kualar lumpar and none of the staff would dream of approaching you in the way this gym did. There is a line and the staff in this gym have no issue in crossing it. The equipment is also dirty, if you are in there, rub a wet tissue along some of the dumbbells and you will see for your self, it will be black.

As for the reviews in this trust pilot page, I would have serious concerns about their legitimacy considering my experience and the experience I have heard from other people in person.

If you are looking at this gym, look somewhere else.

Fantastic gym, the best one in East Cork in my opinion. Equipment is to a good standard. The spinning bikes are great quality. The gym classes are fantastic, lots of different types of classes, and everything can be booked on Energie Fitness App. The gym staff are very friendly snd helpful.
