If you are presented with the option of attending the Speed Awareness course as an alternative to receiving penalty points, I strongly recommend you take it. Whatever our age and driving experience, we all have more to learn - as evidenced by the fact we have been given that choice! I thought I was a good driver and it's appropriate that I've been shown the need for me to be more diligent in observing and responding to road situations, speed limits and hazards - of which there are many these days. Our course trainer Selena was excellent, keeping the course focused and effective and drawing on her own wealth of knowledge and experience of driving (and riding). A three hours well spent!

The trainers were very honest, and explained every aspect of speeding and the repercussions of being even a fraction over the speed limit. Moving forward I intend to use the knowledge gained to my advantage, always making sure I observe the speed limits on my commute,as they're put in place for a reason.

Really good course. Very interesting and really well delivered.

A very positive and informative experience!

father’s overall experience was inconsistent.

During the first session, the trainer removed him without giving what I felt was a clear warning or explanation, even though he had already participated for around 1.5 hours. This resulted in us having to rebook and pay an additional £30.

We later completed the course successfully with a different trainer, who was much clearer, more patient and more professional when dealing with an interpreter. The contrast between the two experiences was significant.

Although Drivetech investigated my complaint, they decided not to refund the additional fee. I appreciate that they reviewed the matter, but I remain disappointed with how the first session was handled.

Wasted entire day, first in morning not invited from them. Booked another course same day. Verified driving licence then again did not invite me into course. Absolute waste of my time. Self employed and lost money, now had to book again and going in person to a venue. My tip would be go elsewhere!!!

The speed awareness course is an easy and informative way of avoiding points on your licence and increased insurance premiums. I should know I’ve done four !

The Speed Awareness course did exactly what it said on the tin! It explained how poor/fast driving could cause life changing events. It pulled no punches. It was also educational in reminding us of why speed limits are so important for road safety. The two people who delivered the course made it very engaging and drew people into participating. A very positive experience.

Riz Khan at Drivetech for Thames Valley region (online) was an excellent trainer.

Despite it taking 3 bookings for the course email link to work properly the course was excellent (the Drivetech link to Teams didn’t work and therefore had to ring and rebook another course time). Excellent delivery from the trainer Phil. Light hearted yet professional, entertaining and informative. I’d recommend the course to anyone, having received a speeding ticket or not.

I recently attended the skidpan experience, it was well organised, instructive and more importantly great fun.
Would go again

The instructor was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The course was interesting and I am now trying to drive better.

A really well run coarse which made me realise the implications of bad driving and speeding

The speed awareness course not only avoided points on my license which would lead to increased insurance cost but it also made me realise how the impact of my speeding could affect other people and families and the difference that travelling at even 1 mph over the limit could affect the damage caused if an accident occurred.

A very professional course, in my case, regarding speeding. Important and useful information on the dangers from speeding. It has definitely changed the way I drive.

Extremely informative course, well presented, very glad I took it. Well recommended

I found the course very informative
I would Definitely recommend this course 👌

Excellent speed awareness course, informative and well presented in a relaxed and friendly manner using Microsoft Teams. The videos showing the impact of speeding even by just 1 extra mph were quite shocking. That was what hit home for me.

I found the Speed Awareness Course to be very informative and worthwhile. The trainers were friendly, professional, and explained everything clearly, making the session engaging from start to finish. The course has given me a better understanding of the importance of speed awareness and road safety, and I will definitely be applying what I’ve learned in my everyday driving.

Best thing to do to prevent you getting points and at the same time you learn. I found out things I didn’t realise regarding road safety. It’s very intuitive but at the same time is a good way to teach you the errors and implications of speeding.
