Dobbies Garden Centres - Northampton Anmeldelser 471

My wife and I went there today (Northampton Dobbies) after receiving a generous birthday gift from Dobbies - all Club Plus members receive a voucher for tea/coffee and cake for two to mark a birthday.
Unfortunately, the whole experience was spoiled by the extremely noisy environment. The building has a high ridged roof and there has been no attempt to soundproof the restaurant area. The hard floors, constant noise from the staff collecting crockery etc. Fair enough, but on top of this was the tinny, muffled musak - not loud enough to listen to, but just adding to the rest of the din. I asked why it was necessary to have it turned on as no-one could hear a word, and could it be turned off? Well, that didn't happen!

The cafe / restaurant has also been extended, so now with even longer queues, as the centre has not extended the kitchen and counter facilities or employed more staff, who were working extremely hard and some looking very tired.

Not a good experience at all. The tea and cakes were very good and the staff are lovely. Come on Dobbies. Please do something the reduce the decibel levels in your cafe.

There was a big queue for coffee and food - unfortunately always a long queue. Would be nicer if you staffed the cafe better

We had a pleasant visit with with 2 hot chocolates and cream scones. It set us up for a food shop.

Too long waiting to be served in the restaurant and poor value for money

Dobbies is a fantastic store. Everything is so well displayed. The stands are eye catching and colourful. There's room to move around without knocking into stands and people. The staff are the politest and helpful people I've ever come across. Items can be a little pricy but are of high quality. The restaurant sell fantastic food and drinks and again the staff are friendly and helpful. I just can't stay away.

Good quality winter bedding and shrubs.
Also, a very good selection.
Till staff are always very friendly and accommodating.

This was probably the worst breakfast we have ever eaten. We sent it back once as it was luke warm, with hard fried eggs. Second attempt it was much hotter however one portion of baked beans tasted of pineapple, cheap "chipolata" sausage, the black pudding was chewy and over cooked & hard bacon. Over priced and over cooked. Two stars only because as the young chap who served us was very apologetic and came to check how everything was. Otherwise it would have been one

Ooh, and a couple of bargains in the sale section.

The store is well stocked and well laid out. Had a good cup of coffee in cafe

staff pleasent.Suggest you notify customets to Renew membership..In these difficult times You must be more competitive.as pensioners are falling behind and watch their spending.

Popped in for lunch in restaurant jacket potato was lovely plenty of filling.and enjoyed looking around I'm so looking forward to the Christmas decorations coming soon.

Needed to replace our bird feeder saw a metal all three types of food feeder and fell in love with it. So pleased with it

Tried for a snack breakfast today and was severely disappointed. A simple cup of tea was terrible. Milk was grey and semi transparent, I had to ask for a repeat, I don’t know what they were offering, possibly fully skimmed, which makes an awful cuppa. I had a bacon roll and couldn’t eat it. The bacon was cold, hard and looked as if it had been sitting around for at least three hours. What a waste of my money. I won’t do that again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Love the restaurant which now has an area where dogs are accepted .
