A nightmare navigating the Christmas tree forest. Although outside avoid smoking as it is a definite fire risk. One wrong turn and you find yourself in a narrow pinch point unable to take the trolley any further. Reverse is your only option, although there are several sharp turn so good luck with that. Just mind your ankles. With so many trees (worth noting as likely to be lots reduced nearer Christmas) pre plan your exit in case of an emergency as you will not get out through the trees. Accosted three times with a plea to donate to charity. Grumpy till assistant but at least there were no singing elves. Restaurant up to its usual slow service. Managed to go from breakfast to lunch just waiting in the queue. On a good note it wasn’t raining so no puddles on the floor from the permanently leaking roof.

Staff in restaurant were very rude and not very welcoming unlike the lady on garden centre checkout who was very polite and charming

Feel for the staff in the cafe as they are understaffed. The food was over 45 mins late (toasted sandwich) and salad was mouldy. It’s was a lunch treat and unfortunately we would not got back

Turned up with friends for breakfast! Yet again no breakfast beginning served due to no staff though plenty of staff wandering around. You want to put the award card up to £15 yet the place is a disgrace. Leaks,dirty ,no hot food ,shoddy goods ,expensive etc been coming for years but no longer

I was pleased to join the Loyalty scheme disappointed that my credit card details were taken instead of my debit card for the direct debit . . So this was declined. So please be aware of this. I did speak to manager who sorted this

Couldn’t get everything we were after and lady on checkout wasn’t too happy that we were paying with cash!
“Oh you’re paying with cash, didn’t you see I struggled with enough change for the man in front of you?” We spent over £100, if she knew she was short of change in her till she should have called a colleague to get some more. I worked in retail for 15 years and making sure your till had enough change was a basic requirement

It’s good to see such a wide variety of goods available. Prices are quite competitive too.
Still a wait at the restaurant though.

The service is good and the staff are very pleasant. The food and drinks in the cafe are delicious and always hot.

All the staff are always helpful and if one staff don't the answer they find one that has theanswer

Selection of good at reasonable prices was good. Breakfast was so tasty and presented well. Only reason why there wasn't 5* is the chairs in the cafe were still covered in food from the day before, gave up looking for clean ones and sat down. Also the leaks from the ceiling are staining the cushions in the restaurant - really needs to be addressed, not just buckets collecting it.
Overall I enjoy this garden centre and would go back.

I brought my daughter with me and we enjoyed the club card free coffee along with some lovely cakes as a break after choosing some flowers to jazz up our garden this autumn. Nice trip out

Friendliness of the staff in the restaurant and the gluten free fish.

I feel Dobbies Galton staff always try there best. They seem to have difficulty attracting staff due to there rural location. Very often due to lack of staff the resturant has to alter its hours and what they can offer . Unfortunately as a customer we don’t know until we visit what is on offer food wise . Not sure how you can improve thisFor customers .
