I had booked a taxi to take my visiting family to their hotels at night, and we got a very distressing call from them telling me that the driver had pulled up at a gas station to get them to take out cash. My family was scared at the driver's behaviour. If getting paid was a concern, they could have sent a link to the payment beforehand, rather than stressing the passengers out.

Plus the same driver had driven them in the morning with the same attitude and forced them to pay an extra 20 GBP in cash specifically.
This is all very unprofessional behaviour and I will never use their services again.

On time, car spotless, reasonable price

Great taxi company - easy to book via the app and always on time!

Airport transfer, booked on the app and although I had issues I rang up and it was quickly sorted. About £35 which I thought was reasonable as the car park would have set me back about £60. Advance booking recommended as taxi was waiting as we landed at 2am….excellent service and used them twice now and will again!

Waste of space, pre booked taxi never turned up.

Phone 20 minutes before it was due and told it could be 30 mins. 40 mins later they just cancelled.

The car came in minutes. The driver put my shopping in the boot. He had good sense of humour & was very helpful with my shopping bags. He told me he was a new driver for DG. I wished him luck in his new job. And he was very happy & friendly! I think he will be an excellent addition to your company! He used his manners, I will always recommend, and was always asking if I was ok. So nice to have manners used. And somebody being very helpful too! His name was Clavis

Absolutely shocking pricing! I'm sure the lady on the phone just plucked the figure out the sky, no logic to it what so ever. £24.50 from Sunny Hill to Chester Green. I should of used Uber!

Taxi booked and paid for in advance for pick up from airport. Taxi failed to show on time and automated call response said they were trying to find a driver! Eventually message said Taxi was 25 minutes away, meaning we would have been waiting almost an hour. A taxi from the same company dropped passengers off and we asked if he could take us. He was happy to but DG Cars wouldn't let him and said we would have to wait for our taxi to show up and the taxi already at the airport would have to drive back empty! We argued with them for about 15 minutes before they finally agreed the taxi already there could take us. If we hadn't had to pay in advance we would definitely have used a different taxi company and I won't be using DG again!

I've given 5 🌟 because this service most of the time is fine. But there have been so many mix ups, I understand that mistakes are made & it can be for a number of reasons but I really feel that lack of experience & communication are a real issue here.

I had 2 journeys pre-booked to and from East Midlands Airport for Thursday 25th August and 8th September. On both occasions the taxi failed to arrive. On the outward journey the system had not registered the booking even though it had sent me a booking confirmation text with booking reference.
On the return journey on arrival at East Midlands, I received a voicemail saying that my booking had been cancelled even though it had been prepaid on the 24th August. This meant that we had no taxi to take us home at midnight.
The booking system in clearly not fit for purpose and I'd advise people to think twice before booking taxis with Western or DG cars.
A complete nightmare for us!

Do not use they charge is well over the allowed ashfield meter rate used then once after took over my nomal taxi firm local trip cost old firm cost £3 now £4 return cost more as well

Booked a taxi for 00:20 more than 36 hours in advanced and hoped that a confirmation of my pick up at this time by text would mean a drive would be sent in time for that collection. Having pre-paid for the taxi again assumed this was locked in and they could plan accordingly. Come 00:40 taxi still not with us and when calling HQ was told the driver is still 20 minutes away!!!!!!!!! I then tried to understand from the rep as to WHY and he simply kept repeating that I was not collaborating and the car is on its way. At this stage I wanted to cancel as had a reliable taxi firm available to get me a taxi sooner and get a refund but was told despite the taxi still 20 minutes away "the system says no!". Taxi finally arrived at 00:56 - disgraceful.

I then incurred more childcare charges as a result of being late. Having read the reviews this firm seems to struggle with meeting any commitments in the evenings so suggest if you want to get home or be anywhere on time choosing another provider.

Pre booked a taxi booking service online was excellent we waited outside rhe pub in Nottingham about 3 mins early and thr driver turned up bang on time very nice polite driver felt very comfortable with him as we had a 35 min drive home would definitely use dg cars next time we're in Nottingham first class service

I had pre-booked a pick-up from East Midlands Airport for 3am. The driver arrived but didn’t identify himself then called me and started remonstrating with me that I couldn’t identify his car. There was absolutely nothing on the car even to say it was a DG taxi. The automated message was telling me he was still 4 minutes away. He then has no payment card for the barrier and my husband has to pay to exit just to get out of the car park as there is a big queue building up behind us. Finally we leave the airport and he doesn’t know how to get us home to Beeston - in fact he can’t even find the M1 and swerves wildly as my husband has to literally shout at him to stop him taking us in totally the wrong direction; twice. I made a complaint straight away and got an immediate response to say the company would investigate with the driver. Ten days have now passed. No update, no timeline of when it will be resolved and no resolution. What an absolute joke! I paid for a premium service and got a random guy in an unmarked car with no means to get me out of the airport and no idea how to get me and my family home in the middle of the night. And I’m still waiting for a refund and an explanation. WHEN THE RESPONSE SAYS THEY REFUNDED ME WHAT IT MEANS IS THEY REFUNDED THE PARKING CHARGE, NOT THE VERY EXPENSIVE PRE-PAID AIRPORT PICK-UP. I REQUESTED A PARTIAL REFUND FOR THIS AND THEY REFUSED.

I didn’t know Derby but I went to view a house for a family member who are moving to derby no timetable on bus stops which would help a stranger I was panicking got taxi number up on my phone they were brilliant picked me up pretty quick and got me to the train station great driver great service many thanks

A quick & easy to book, speedy service! The lovely friendly driver arrived early and got me to my destination safely, I cannot fault the trip from booking it to the journey itself! Full 5 stars awarded from myself, thank you DG & the driver!
