Ordered sofa on 18 October 2025
Delivered on 29 November 2025. All items were dirty and damp they looked liked they had been stood outside .we rejected the order. According to the store manager it could have been cleaned. Dfs think it’s acceptable to pay £4000 for items that when they arrive have to be cleaned.
Following various conversations with Huddersfield store manager the sofa was reordered on 24 December 2025.
Sofa arrived on 23 February 2026. Different colour legs were fitted on the footstool that we did not order and did not match the legs on the sofa and chair.
Another call to customer services and Huddersfield branch replacement legs ordered.
Replacement legs delivered on 16 March 2026 we matched the ones we already had and were not the colour we ordered. Several complaints forms submitted and calls to Huddersfield branch.
The footstool is very heavy so I requested the replacement legs to have castors which considering the poor service we received I thought would be possible as a good will jester. I was told on several occasions by the Huddersfield branch manager this was not possible.
Finally I received an email on 20 March 2026 confirming the replacement legs had been reordered with castors as a good will jester.
Despite promises of updates no further correspondence has been received. Emails have ignored and still 8 weeks later no replacement legs for the footstool.
32 weeks after ordering the furniture I am left with furniture that has different colour legs that I am now paying for. What a joke.
In addition the care package we ordered which cost £40 did not arrive and had to chased via customer services.
This whole experience has been stressful and frustrating.
I would have given no stars if I had the option.

I chose to buy from DFS as the pricing was really, really good compared to other companies.
To put a bit of perspective to this claim, I could have bought a sofa, rug & coffee table from DFS for nearly the same price as JUST the (pretty much identical) sofa from another local company.
Every question I had was met with an answer and was just a very pleasant process.
Sara (sales person) was very friendly/helpful & honest.
Extra points also for not jumping on us as soon as we entered the store and constantly hounding us as we walked around.

The best thing was that I wasn't harassed, as is the case in many furniture stores, even though I was in there a long time trying out lots of different sofas before making a decision. The sales person was very informative when asked, very friendly, patient with my indecision and efficient. The product I eventually settled for from the Country Living range seems to be of good quality, looks very stylish and we look forward to seeing it in our home.

I bought an expensive sofa from DFS and was advised to take out Guardsman insurance, which I did without hesitation. A few years later, when issues arose, I made a claim and an inspector visited—but I received no follow-up. I later discovered via the portal that my claim had been closed without any notification. When I called, I was simply told the damage wasn’t covered. Very disappointing experience—it feels like I paid for nothing. I’d advise others to be cautious before purchasing this policy.

I recently visited DFS Huddersfield to choose furniture for my home and was very impressed with both the staff and overall service. From the moment I entered the showroom, the team were welcoming, approachable, and knowledgeable without being pushy.
The ordering process was smooth and well organised. Staff explained delivery times clearly and kept me informed throughout. I appreciated how professional and attentive everyone was, making what can sometimes be a stressful experience feel easy and enjoyable.
Overall, I had a very positive experience with DFS. Excellent customer service, friendly staff, and a hassle-free ordering process made choosing furniture much more enjoyable. I would happily recommend DFS to others looking for quality furniture and good customer care.
