mitre saw has had problems from new and i finally decided to do something about it under dewalts 3 year warranty - i wish i had not bothered

2 faults - a part was damaged out of the box but not important so left it - blade burn when mitre cutting - had done from new and was getting worse so raised a warranty repair - both problems stated to CS

5 days after collection saw returned - neither fault had been addressed - a part of the saw was damaged by the repair centre and due to bad packing saw was further damaged - so now had 4 faults - they arranged for saw to be sent back - this time it took about 3 weeks to be returned to me not the 3 to 5 days they say

of the [now] 4 faults 3 had been resolved - the saw still burnt on a mitre cut and kerf plate under the blade was now broken - packing was better so no other damage

many emails later they refuse to replace the kerf plate that they broke and will not send a new blade but - wait for it - i can send the saw back a 3rd time for them to look at the blade and kerf plate - pardon me - you have had it back twice to look at the blade and a photo shows the kerf plate is clearly broken

so its going nowhere

thats it - both parts are user changeable so why do i need to send it back again - so you can break something else

theres 2 things at play here - the CS dept is in Slough and are [imo] next to useless or seem so - the repair dept is in Spennymoor and are totally useless - again they seem so or maybe they just dont talk to each other - the only meaningful help i have had is from their 1st line CS office in the US but they are a post office who pass on warranty repairs to whatever part of the world the item is in [i think] - the are polite - apologetic but tied - which is a pity as that part of CS works but is [somewhat] toothless

so - DeWalt - good products - not cheap and great until you get a problem - if that happens - god help you - because DeWalt wont

i have thousands of pounds worth of DeWalt products and they know i am looking for more - does that matter - not a jot - no movement to help me and no suggestion they might be wrong and offer any form of compensation for their terrible service

1 star is as low as it get - on their UK CS its [maybe] one too many on this experience

I purchased a combi drill under a year ago and it's developed a fault. After being messed around by the retailer for two months I was told to contact DeWalt directly, so I tried calling today and not only did nobody answer the phone but the system took me straight through to the "feedback" survey. Not sure how satisfied anyone would be when nobody answers the phone. Given this has been ongoing for months I can't express how poorly I look at DeWalt now.

1 year and 5 days ago I bought a leaf blower from dewalt. The battery only lasted less than a year. Had I known this, yes, I would have contacted Dewalt sooner but to have a battery last so short of a time! Batteries are not cheap to begin with and the warranty period is too short.

My hedge trimmer broke whilst under warranty I contacted dewalt and after a few problems with the collection for repair I received it back within 5 days, I would like to thank Ayesha who was brill, she kept me informed of the collection days WELL DONE dewalt you did keep to the warranty.

Bought set of 3 garden tools with lifetime warranty should not have wasted my £13.99. Contacted them to be told have to send them back to be checked (had them a couple of weeks and tool broke think thats down to them) appears I have to pay postage so another £5+ added to the cost. Like many I expect wondering if worth possibly losing more money.
Useless tools and return postage should be paid by DeWalt.
Cannot return to store as not local only bought as thought good make but appears not any more!

Dewalt a fait une action Rock & charge cet hiver. J'ai acheté deux batteries, une tronconneuse sur perche et forcement pas le chargeur vu qu'il etait gratuit et envoyé. Premier report de livraison pour avril. Second a present pour juillet. Ils se moquent des gens. Mes batteries sont en train de mourrir et mon outil a raté sa première saison. Pire, j'ai du en acheter un autre pour faire le boulot. Dernier achat de cette marque. Service en dessous de tout.

Dont buy the T-stack tool box with the wheels and piull up handle as the handle has a thin plastic bracket which snaps and you can no longer pull it along, very poor design and dewalt wont do anything to help...and its under a year old.

Bought a new 5ah Powerstack battery with a supposed warranty of three years yet when I came to try to claim against the warranty after the battery packed in after less than two years the customer service department were useless. They lied and weaselled their way out of honouring the warranty.

Très mécontente ! Achat d'une tondeuse et d'un coupe bordure, pour près de 1000 euros. Je participe à l'offre pour avoir une batterie offerte et ma participation est refusée ! Pourquoi ? Mystère,aucun retour. Facture bien entourée des items demandés, code barre découpé de façon visible, taille totale des fichiers inférieure à 3 Mo. Bref, la tondeuse a servi donc je ne peux pas la retourner malheureusement, mais je vais rendre le coupe bordure encore emballé dans l'attente de la batterie et me faire rembourser. D'autres le disaient déjà, ça doit être une pratique habituelle.

I got a whole lot of DEWALT gear, at least 10 items,and I highly recommend and love em all! But 1 thing I advise from the bottom of my heart is DON'T buy the 1st fix guns!!!!!!
Absolutely rubbish, miss fire and jam all the time, I'm astonished they are on the shelfs, DO NOT BUY THE 1ST FIX NAILGUNS!!

I reached out to DeWalt RE a faulty DC709 combi drill and they asked for the certificate - when I logged in to get it, it all fell apart - my account had been 'parked', or 'deactivated' as they put it, and for no good reason.

I proved that it was in there, and that it now wasn't, and they took the issue to their IT Department to investigate "if there is a dormant or orphaned account with my details" (this is 29 Nov 2024) and I jumped through every hoop they asked of me.

Now it's four months later and they've just taken to ignoring my emails and requests for support - they literally just don't respond, despite me emailing in November, 5th and 30th December, 10th Jan, 17th March and again today.

For shame to the big company who is more than willing to just outright ignore the little guy.

Useless online chat customer service. Contacted them with what you would have thought to be a relatively straightforward product enquiry, does their new DCD800 drill come in any kits with batteries and or an impact driver. The agent named 'Ace' (yes really) who had a weak grasp on the English language couldn't answer this, uhm'd and ah'd via chat, tried to contact someone else, then said they'd get someone to contact me and never did. DeWalt make good products but seriously need to do something about their online customer service.

Bad bad experience bought some drills less then a year old went for repair came back 10 times worse now I’m out of pocket and work dewalt have given me nothing but false promises and still not sorted been going on over a month asked about it the repairs team was so rude and unprofessional very very rude please don’t buy off these petty scammers

I bought a dust extractor without the battery. So far, so good. I asked ... "Please can you state what is the maximun run time battery for the DEWALT DCV501LN 18V dust extractor?" ... This was so I could purchase a battery.
I received a reply stating the 5.0Ah battery (which is the standard). I re-worded my question to ask what about the larger batteries they sell. 8 days later and no reply.
Well I'm another customer who will switch to Ryobi (their Truspilot score is 4.5 & Dewalt is 1.3)

I have waited over a week for my drill to be picked up for repair, nobody replies to emails, customer service people promise to get back but don’t I am now left with a situation where I need the drill for work, so will have to try to use it. Also it was supposed to have been picked up yesterday 27/02/25 but nobody came.

I purchased a DeWalt XR 18v Multitool some time ago. After 13 months of very light use, it failed. DeWalt Customer "Service"(?) refused to honour the 3 years guarantee, stating that I had not registered for the extended warranty. OK, I have (expensively) learned.... More recently, I purchased a DeWalt XR 18V chainsaw. I claim that I registered it for the 3 year extended warranty. It has recently completely failed and AGAIN DeWalt refuse to honour the warranty. Dreadful Customer "Service", poor quality and poor reliability product(s) in my experience and opinion. NEVER buy DeWalt.

Je suis artisan maçon et j'ai du matose dewalt depuis 1ans, une catastrophe, j'ai déjà tué une meuleuse et un perfo... Et ma scie circulaire fait des étincelles, donc va bientôt rendre l'âme, le sav mets 1 mois pour changer les pièces (quand vous avez pensez à garder la facture, car s'enregistrer sur le site ne sers à rien).
Pourtant je prends grave soin de mes outils en mettant un petit coup de soufflette au compresseur dès que j'ai travaillé dans la poussière.
Bref je suis dégouté, j'achèterais plus jamais cette marque et je suis pas le seul artisan à trouver que c'est de la m#rde.

Bought a faulty product from Amazon.

Amazon said I had to contact Dewalt directly as it was supplied by Dewalt.

Dewalt said it had not been made in the UK, so although all packaging was in English and said Dewalt all over it, they were not prepared to help in any way!

With customer service at this level, I only have one recommendation - whatever you do, NEVER buy a Dewalt product. You will get rubbish quality and zero customer support.

I bought a hammer drill with two 5amp batteries from Screwfix as they had an offer on.
I got told by the sales guy at Screwfix to register the drill to extend the warranty to 3 years.
So i attempted that but in Dewalts website where it needed to be registered it was only showing the drill with two 4amp batteries, it did not have the latest offer on.
So i didn't want to miss out on the warranty and did the model with the two 4amp batteries and since the warranty does not cover batteries i thought it would be ok
Several months down the line and Dewalt removed the drill from warranty, now i have contacted their live chat and been in contact through email for MONTHS and i keep getting told they are escalating the issue and it will get sorted
This should have been an easy fix but after near 3 months they still haven't sorted it.
I have been in contact with them almost once every week

I feel sorry for anyone who has a slightly more complicated issue than this
Lucky for me the Dewalt products I own have been pretty good but their customer service and IT staff absolutely suck

Just had an update after months telling me the products dont exist even though i have provided them with photographic evidence of the products in the past and they were previously registered on their own site

How can a company be so disgracefully incompetent

My angle grinder broke after 7 months. Spoke to the customer service who sent a courrier to collect it. That's where the fun started...

I was then accused of lying and they believed that it had a Date of manufacture of 2020. Which even if it did, I bought in 2024 so what difference does that make?

They then told me it'll be either £30 to send the broken item back unfixed or £80 to fix it (they're only worth £129 new).

So basically. In my case it didn't matter because I don't want it back, they can stick it up their crack for all I care. But if you have a faulty tool and you'd just like them to correct a minor fault beware that they will probably either decline to fix it and change you for sending it back or quote you a silly amount to fix it.

They make the 3 year warranty hard to register for on purpose it seems but on this showing, it's not worth the paper it's written on so just don't waste your time.
