We purchased a property that needed electrical work, and we called out several electricians who all quoted for both partial and full rewires. Darryl at DC Electrical Services Edinburgh stood out immediately with his honest advice — he clearly explained that since the wiring dated back to the 1950s, a partial rewire would not be safe or sufficient, and a full rewire was genuinely required to bring everything up to current safety standards.
Because their advice and honesty stood out so much, we decided to go ahead with DC Electrical Services for all our works. We arranged for the full rewire, installation of integrated smoke and heat alarms, and also received great guidance on lighting for our kitchen and living room, plus advice on wiring for our media wall once it was built.
Our property was empty at the time, which was a bonus and made the job much easier. We simply left the keys for them, and they were able to start and progress the work smoothly without us needing to be there. Even better, the job was kept very clean throughout — the guys cleaned up everything thoroughly before leaving each day and when the work was finished.
A special mention must go to Isaac — the main man who carried out the work, along with his apprentices! They were professional, skilled, and did a first-class job from start to finish.
Throughout the whole process, everything ran smoothly, no hidden costs, just expert service you can trust.

I had to have an urgent PAT test done on a property having been let down previously. I called DC electrical and received a call back within the hour to my message and they worked around my tight time scale. They were very professional and gave general advice as regards to ensuring everything was up to safety standard. I will be using them again for my new property and would highly recommend them to anyone needing any electrical work carried out.

I was moving house in ten days when my solicitor advised me the other solicitor needed a satisfactory EICR certificate for the property we were selling! I found DC ELECTRICAL SERVICES online, I think the first option in Google results, and booked them immediately. They came to survey the house a couple days later. Annoyingly it had failed because the Consumer Unit (fuse box) was old and no longer compliant. DC came a couple days later to replace it in just a couple hours and then re-issued the EICR Satisfactorily at no extra cost to the Consumer Unit. Then we realised the smoke and heat alarms had only just expired, a day or two before moving. Again DC to the rescue - came the morning of our move and swapped them out no fuss! Our move was a stressful time but at least the electrical issues were easily sorted by DC ELECTRICAL SERVICES.

We needed a full rewire done for our house and had been putting it off for several years as we knew it would be a big and complex job as it’s late a 1800’s 3 x bedroom. We finally got three quotes and were immediately impressed with DC Electrical Services’ clear and transparent approach. Darryl was quick to respond, answered all our questions and the quote he provided was very detailed with the works for each room clearly itemized.
Darryl was a pleasure to deal with and we took his advice to move out for a week to let the team get on with the job. They arrived at 8am sharp on the Monday morning and got straight to it (apologies again for our slightly late and chaotic departure with the cat!).
We were kept fully updated on progress and any difficulties they encountered due to the age and quirks of the house were clearly communicated and quickly resolved. The team were friendly and professional with a high standard of work and they did a great job of keeping the mess contained as much as possible. After the main works were completed, Darryl did an initial snagging visit and gave us a recommendation for a plasterer when we asked for one. We went with Kyle’s quote and the standard of the plastering was very good. We’re just waiting for it to fully dry before we start redecorating.
