Absolutely appalling organisation since the acquisition, with no morale whatsoever.

Partners, you won’t be considered partners, your just another number in their books.

We’re not their largest partners, but we still spend over £120,000 a year with cPanel and I can assure you that irrespective of your spend, or willingness to invest time and effort in their product you are still nothing, and won’t get any help along the way. Greed has taken over, and there’s no reverting it seems.

If you are new to the industry, please do consider the opinions of us involved - choose another partner, and stay well away.

Consider looking into alternatives such as DirectAdmin who are independent of the monopoly of Web Pros.

They keep raising the price and are super slow to bring to market new features.

Much cheaper control panels out there. They only raise prices.

The software was great, but now buggy and expensive, lacking new features...

cpanel is a great software developed with care and sold to a greedy company targeting to monopolize the hosting industry in order to force you buy their products in very high prices. They cannot be trusted. One year before they raised their prices 20x to maybe 100x more, sending a newsletter some weeks before their new pricing scheme active date, not leaving time for the industry to switch software. Two months before thay raised their pricing even more. If the related US district attorney office was actually working, they would have been audited for possible criminal charges based on monopoly legislation.

Very bad business policy just made to make money they know the server is offline > can delete the license but they don’t want. Reason - they got money advance that's it. What can you expect from a company who have 10x cost of licenses for same software and now have such business policies. Thank you and god bless you.

This may be the most widely used server software, but their pricing is extortionate. My server manager has advised me to use Interworx instead. CPanel will lose a lot of customers over their greed.

Used to like this but now it's a mess and pain.
A. You NEVER can see your password, When you create it or when you use it which caused huge problems as password are required to be more complicated and case matters as well as special characters. When you involve the shift keys people often get one character wrong.
Hello, let people decide if the want to see the actual password don't ram you security issues down their throats.
2. No password reset on your own, this means due to not being able to see the password if you get it wrong and locked out you can't even reset it yourself and must contact tech support.

No longer worth using, sadly. Company was bought by investor who has zero interest in client services, customer service etc.
A ll of our products, like 30 of them were simply cancelled without notice. Couldn't connect to support because the emails wouldn't work without cpanel.
No phone or other access to support.
They are the worst now thanks to greedy hedge fund. This will no longer be the standard that it has been sadly. Higher prices, worse service.
Absolutely horrible. All l of our servers are down now with no support at all. This may destroy our hosting business
If you can do business without them,i would highly recommend you do so.

I change my review for cpanel even their price increase their features are more good. But can you just give compability with nginx? And openlitespeed? Im really need them.

This company rips you off. They hike their prices and give NO notice.

My experience, is a sour one. I made a website a very simple website. I wanted to publish it on c-Panel. I made a zip.file of my website. I uploaded it in file manager to a folder I created. I then unzipped it to a sub folder in the public_html directory. My website displayed: Forbidden, you do not have permissions to access this resource. I must have done something wrong. Tried a couple of variants on the above, same result. Reloaded a template through site publisher (Where of course I cannot upload my own website to. That worked. Looked carefully at the files and folders created by publisher, no I hadn't done anything strange. Right, now what (A full day wasted). Called support, bad connection. Got the same instructions, followed them again, also I was told not to leave files outside of the sub folder created to put my website in. No, same result. Asked support if ASP.NET was supported, the support person gave the impression he didn't know ASP.NET, which didn't instill a massive amount of trust the guy actually knew what he was talking about, I mean how can you work in a support department for clients encountering hosting issues and not know ASP.NET? I know Microsoft is not popular, but ASP.NET is everybody knows it. Anyway I now know from a forum it is not supported. No matter, blank project, just an html page a .css page a folder containing four images. That should work then, right it is a simple .txt file saved as html file, it cannot get much simpler and basic then that. Guess what same result and two days of my time wasted. This is not suited not for beginners and not for advanced people either. I also watched a you tube video, same helpful instructions, nothing I had skipped or hadn't tried, but my site still display's Forbidden. The support pages are horrific, the music played while the support person went to ask what asp.net was and came back telling me it is supported, (It is not for crying out loud), well great this sucks, I regret ever having heard of Go Daddy and worse thinking it would be a lot better than my previous hosting. It is bad it is very bad. I guess it works fine if you buy a website with Go Daddy, or have their programmers do it for you. If you intend to build your own site, move on quickly when Go Daddy and cPanel hosting are offered. What a useless service.

We have different servers and have been using cPanel for many years. We were very happy about their product but suddenly their price exploded.

One could think that with all this new money they could hire more programmers but their development is still painfully slow.

We are looking into alternative control panel software if the price this year does not come down and the development speed is not increased.

Insane Price Increases. After cPanel was purchased by a venture capital firm they dramatically increased their prices. Not only are the price increases massive - they also implemented an entirely new (per user) billing method, which makes many business types now unviable.

The worst part is they did this with virtually no warning - just to give people no time to switch. Overall I would not trust cPanel and I would highly recommend that anyone looking to start with a new control panel from scratch look elsewhere.
