Some fresh food USA made products are bulk copies of products from other countries like Sugar Bowl USA products Palmiers snacks, a not so good copy of Genji Pie butterfly pastry from Japan.

Was very surprised AND pleased with Costco in Glasgow. This is the first time I've ever seen action taken against cars who park in disabled spaces without blue badges..asda.tesco.morrisons could do likewise. Well done to the management..

I enjoyed shopping at Costco, I try to avoid weekends.

Was over charged for an item I did not buy. Took 11 calls to get an answer. They directed me to the Australian site. The Australian site directed me back. I have sent 7 emails and have had no luck with anyone answering the phone for 3 days. 10hrs+ of my time spent getting back my money and am no further than the moment they stole my money. I just want a refund for the items and a refund for my membership and have nothing to do with Costco ever again. This is pathetic and weak. Disgusting behaviour and breaking so many of New Zealand’s consumer laws. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

I left a review about being left on hold for a long time. I hung up and left a review that I was disappointed with the service. He rang bqck and helped me with my query. I am amending my comment. I was happy with the service after all.

Virtually impossible to contact anyone by phone in most departments. They simply don't pick up the receiver!
Cost of fuel is often not competitive as in other stores around the world. Many fuel stations in the Westgate vicinity are often up to 20 cents cheaper per litre!
It pays to compare prices with other outlets before purchasing. Just because it's Costco doesn't imply that everything you purchase is a bargain! This is not like the Costco stores overseas.
Disappointing!
Very disappointing

Visted 01/03/25. Really helpful lady in the clothing department but on checkout served by a rather surly lady who made us feel we were a nuisance. On checking our bill having arrived home we found we had been charged twice for soap power (at $64.99) Tried phoning, cut off once and now no answer to several calls. Less than impressed.

Bought a 65 inch tv....happy with the purchase ...not happy with their attitude to recycling the packaging especially the polystyrene..retailers will let you recycle in their jumbo bins providing you purchased from them...but NOT costco

This review is not for the entire store , but for thier cooked meal section . In particular thier sushi. I have tried most things in thier meal section and have liked them would easily give them 3-4 stars depending on the meal.
We bought a sushi pack , and we had some high expectations, but we’re disappointed. The rice in the rolls was very dry , and gave the entire a very dry and heavy feeling . I had to put a lot of soy sauce to moisten it , it still it didn’t taste great. The chicken and salmon were tasteless too in it. And the only vegetable they had in was cucumber. They tasted way below expectations and I was disappointed. I would recommend the visit i mgmt and chef to try sushi’s at other sushi shops , and make thier sushi more interesting and tasty. The only good thing o can say is that the packaging and presentation was good . But seriously need to improve the overall quality of the sushi.

NZ Costco is very much the poor relation to US Costco. With only one in NZ many customers will have to drive a long way, when they arrive it seems often there is no stock of an item and no way of finding stock levels prior to going. On two occasions so far I have driven for an hour to find they’re out of stock on 3 out of 4 must-get items.

Luckily the New Zealand Costco Wholesale store and fuel is located a short distance from where I live. At first I was not sure I was interested in bulk purchases and therefore if I needed a membership card.
The Costco business plan is based around an annual membership so we decided on joining to check out what the hype was about. At first fuel was available and their price per litre certainly made joining worthwhile. Eventually the opening of the wholesale store occurred and it was madness. Queues and excessive traffic meant we avoided the area (Westgate, Auckland) for months. Turns out most of the queues related to people who needed to gain membership ( a process done face to face but may now be possible online).
Around a month after opening we ventured into Costco Wholesale…interestingly their competitive pricing had lowered pricing at nearby supermarkets anyway.
The vehicle entry in NZ has a layout that I assume works for left hand roads because here entry and exit are not ‘free flowing’ and often jam up. They cross so entering vehicles block exiting vehicle ramps.
The store has massive trolley ( actually needed - always grab one). There will be many confused customers wandering and blocking aisles but shopping here is so worthwhile. Do beware of what you will actually eat or consume with regards to perishable items but the likes of cartons of drinks, cleaning products, homewares, clothing, shoes are totally worthwhile buying here. Two trays of Texas size muffins (so 12) are less than $12 (you would pay near $5 per muffin elsewhere)…the savings are endless and buying bulk cleaning products means they last maybe a year. Read what you are paying for as some pricing relates to multiple buys and you will be sent back to get other packet from the checkout.
Their business plan is based around selling the membership but you save that fee easily with one shop in the wholesale or a few fuel refills. With buying bulk you don’t visit often…maybe once a month. A pack of 12 massive muffins isn’t something you can consume every other day.
If anything Costco coming to NZ has given the other merchants a jab to be more competitive in their pricing…let’s hope more stores open soon so the current sole NZ store can be less of a mission to navigate. Shopping process is easy - but it is customers standing looking dazed and blocking access that gets irritating. Please don’t think your children will enjoy this shopping experience….it is not a school holiday treat activity. It is quality bulk buying at great prices….
