I have had an extremely negative experience with Communal Energy Partners over the past 6+ years. They have consistently issued estimated bills that are never accurate, and when you challenge the figures, their customer service becomes hostile and completely unprofessional.

When I raised legitimate concerns, I was contacted by a manager named Allan, who shockingly responded in an aggressive and threatening manner. Instead of resolving the issue, he resorted to intimidation, essentially saying if I didn’t pay the inaccurate charges, they would cut off my supply. It felt like I was dealing with a gang, not a utility provider.

There is also serious concern about how this company appears to have obtained contracts with managing agents like Rendall and Rittner, with allegations of commissions and kickbacks being involved. These kinds of backdoor arrangements undermine transparency and leave leaseholders with no choice and no voice.

What’s worse is that Communal Energy Partners is not regulated by any ombudsman, which means there is no external body to hold them accountable for their misconduct. You’re left completely helpless as a consumer. Their operations and behaviour are disgraceful and raise serious ethical and legal concerns.

If your landlord or management company uses this provider, I strongly urge you to demand a switch to a more transparent and regulated supplier. No one should be subjected to the kind of bullying and exploitation this company engages in.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Just shocked and appalled. If you are considering renting a property serviced by this company, you must seriously reflect on whether you are able to afford their unconstrained energy prices. We have no choice but to use this supplier on our building. The bill creeps up and up every month even as we restrict our use more and more. We use less than an hour per day and somehow paying £50 a month now for a small 1 bedroom flat. For £32 worth of usage, we get a bill of £51 once "Billing Management", "Service Fee", and "Metering Infrastructure Support" are included. The worst thing is that they are not upfront about these costs when you move in so you are not making an informed decision. I have written to my MP as these companies need to be regulated urgently.

Without doubt the WORST organisation I have ever worked with. Moved in around Easter. Tried multiple times to set up an account. Almost a year later they finally get round to it and demand to be paid ASAP. Admin fee of around 20%. Absolute bloody disgrace. If you can get a different supplier, do. But you are not their customer, the head lease is and they make you feel like it.

Anthony was excellent. He fixed our hot water and heating system and reprogrammed our thermostat promptly.
He also explained everything in detail and made sure we were aware of how everything works.
Really appreciate his services.

It has taken more half a year to arrange an engineer visit to my home in London. Their staff are highly incompetent and disorganized who blatantly ignore customers' emails all the time. It is 0 degree in London today and I sincerely wonder why I am paying such a high bill for a company like this. Happy to provide the name of the employee if needed.

So so painful trying to clear a bill after I sold a property and my tenant exited. Repeated calls, emails and added charges. Confirmed in August my account was settled and now have been chasing for a balance of £13 due to their onerous legal charges they've been adding unlawfully to the account.

Customer service is terrible.

Very rude customer service, and not competent to work with people. Extremely abrupt way of speaking to people on the phone. Sending debt management emails when the bill has been paid on time. Overall, a very unpleasant experience and a shame that my developed are even linked to this company…

One star rate is too much for this company, - 0 minus zero is the maximum for CEP.
Truly, there are no words to describe how awful it is - it should have be banned for trading. A customer revealed that they had a different name as a company but they were forced to change its name to CEP after the unbelievable horrible reviews they had before. So, it's not a surprise that this company is no registered to any of the ENERGY OMBUDSMAN schemes so that you can't dispute their unlawful fees and they avoid any fines, penalties and compensation by that. Which speaks volume what a disgraceful company it is!
Customer Service? It doesn't exist, it's simply a joke ignoring all complaints and emails. But even the Head of the Engineering department sounds like that. He promised to answer to me and to resolve a huge issue a couple of times ago and he never did that - no integrity, no dignity at all. Unprofessionalism is all over in this company, by the exception of some brilliant engineers - hence the 5 stars reviews you can see.
Not to mention the weird charges they impose on our bills - we are investigating now how illegal they are. Report them to ENERGY OMBUDSMAN. Avoid CEP at any cost if you don't want to live in hell!

This company is a joke. they are a billing company yet they can't do simple maths. They firstly issued me a bill that's wildly accurate. after i asked for a correction, they issued a ridiculous correction. i literally made a spreadsheet to try to point out how ridiculously wrong their correction was and they simply ignore my email and subsequent chaser. They are either super incompetent or insanely uneithical to try to con their customers with wildly overstated bills. also their customer service advisors were rude and dismissive and provided a fake complaint email address that automatically rejects any incoming emails.

Big thank you to Anthony who came check the boiler and fixed all the issues.He’s very kind , clean working and the most important part he listened to understand the problem.

Called as we had an issue with our HUI and had someone come the same day. Anthony explained the issue and was able to resolve it for us in a timely manner. Issue seems resolved so pleased overall with the service.

The engineers, Anthony and Alex, were amazing. They were fast, tidy and incredibly efficient. They listened to my current concerns about the faults and they explained in detail the issues I had with my unit and how they were going to fix it. Parts were ready and installed perfectly. Great service! Well done.

I had one query with the company and sent a 'Contact Us Page Form' on 1 May. Their average repsonse time is over two weeks per email and it does not solve your query, more to ask your a simple follow up question like 'What is your address?'. Once you responded, it takes another 2 weeks + to get another response. It has been a whole month and my query still has not been solved. Bear in mind, I've used email that links to my account to email them so not sure why they cannot just locate it themselves. It is the hardest provider to reach out for support among all my energy providers. Their online service only has a payment function which is not helpful at all too.

Came to service my heat exchanger. They found a problem and were able to change a part on the spot. The fitter was Anthony, and he was friendly, helpful and polite. He explained everything clearly and carefully. He was also very quick - I was surprised when I saw the new part fitted and working, as a leak had made a bit of a mess.

He also explained that the reviews for the billing and engineering sides of the business are mixed on this site, hence the large number of good reviews and bad reviews, but nothing in the middle.

Anthony was great very professional and provided an excellent service alongside Alex very helpful quick. Definitely recommend.

Avoid Communal Energy Partners at all costs! Their customer service is abysmal—they don't respond to emails, and when they do, it's often the wrong amount they're demanding. Complete chaos!
