Still waiting for my delivery from 21 Jan emailed twice but no response can't find a phone number on their website and now the emails have been sent back as not received have they gone bust took the money out of my account on 22 jan

Ordered about a week ago and was given the faster delivery for free. Delivered by a decent courier (not Evri) and everything was packed carefully. Bargain prices for literally a month's worth of snacks for 30 pounds. Literally the best company for BBE items and very polite on social media too. Highly recommended.

Do not buy from this company, this poor lady emailed the asking about her order, granted she was getting frustrated her order still hadn't been received and her messages were a little odd about sending police but this company decided to post her messages and mock her and release her image from the chat they had and again was absolutely mocking her. I called them out on it and said surely they are breaching her confidentiality rights by including her Facebook image in the chats and said shame on them for mocking someone. They then responded with the weirdest and probably most rude response I have ever had from a company. They said "behave yourself, I'd be more embarrassed about your morals and thinking this post was aimed at the wording and not it's content. You know where the unfollow button is bye bye" not sure how my morals come into it when your mocking her. Literally zero sense. Avoid this company at all cost as they mock their customers publicly.

Their response to me makes zero sense! What planet is this company on?

Wish I didn’t have to leave any star but what can I say. This has been the worst customer experience I have EVER had. I waited 27 days before receiving my items. 35 items missing. I have Phoned, Emailed and sent website chats with no answer to any of them. I did receive a feedback request so I thought I would oblige. Do yourselves a favour and give these people a wide berth. I tried calling them just before writing this and lo and behold they picked up the phone but slammed it down again immediately. So I repeated this numerous times with the same result. I have no more words to describe my experience except…just don’t.

I'd give minus 10stars if I could. I placed an order on the 15th January, using their 7-30 day delivery option, now generally if they packaged your item within a couple of days, no matter which courier service used, deliveries normally take 7 days at most, bare in mind that these items are already in stock and their warehouse is no more than an hour away from me. However I have only just received my delivery today 25/01/2025 , 41 days later!

The other issue is, they do not answer their telephones, they do not reply to any message sent via their contact from, emails sent, or complaints form, so customer service is non-existent! Which after reading the feedback left on here for them is a common problem.

Take into consideration the nature of their products and the short or out of date items, receiving your order 41 days after ordering is shocking! Now I always thought that when using slower postage option, you were relying on the courier service speed, but in this case they obviously put you to the back of the queue until they get a slack moment, then decide it’s okay to send. There are other simiiar companies that I have used and always have received my orders within 7-9 days, so I will never use this company again.

Even worse is their excuse on Trustpilot is “Clearance XL has removed all ties with Trustpilot” like that excuses them from any negative feedback! And customers feedback does not matter one bit!. TAKE RESPONSIBILTY CLEARANCEXL!

Very disappointed. Selling items with a best before dates expired should be fit for purpose. Well majority of my order is would not even donate to a food bank it was bad. Mayonnaise nearly 2years out of date. Something like that should not be given in these boxes due to the ingrediant. Will not be buying again and will not recommend

Got a box delivered Thursday for first time absolutely disappointing. It was basically a box for the bin. Not one thing in date and an awful selection of cakes that no one would even want. Complete waste of money. I have emailed heard no response. I have asked for the box to be collected and refunded.

Ordered a clearance box of mystery cakes i have to say although i personally didn't find it value for money all the cakes are WELL past their expiry dates sept 24 oct 24 although I guess they are edible (barley) but most of the items were extremely dry, I get your buying past best before dates but 2 moths past, the quality isn't there at all, spend your money at your local market when you can find much comparable prices and better dates, all my Clearance XL order whent in the bin

My parcel arrived damaged, broken glass everywhere and items inside spoilt. Some items came out ok after washing off the glass. The "customer service" has been worse than non existent with staff taunting about supposedly not receiving emails even when I provide a clear screenshot of the date and time of the email. ABSOLUTE CON. Goes completely against consumer rights to have damaged items replaced. THIS IS A CON AND WONT SAVE YOU MONEY.

Do not buy from them. I ordered on the 16th October then received a message Monday to say how did I enjoy my order, well I haven't had it yet so I haven't enjoyed anything. Even tho it states my order has been completed, you can't get intouch with anyone, no phone call, no call back , no on line message reply & I've sent 5 emails with no answer.
I have had things off them before but thus is a joke. And to make it worse there are so many pop ups on the sight that accidentally thinking I was still on there page my bank got hacked for £82 lucky my bank saw it & stopped the payment but then had to mess getting a new card. It's an absolute joke !

Bought the 3.50 deal off Wowcher, cost me another £13.99 plus delivery not bad to recieve aload of kids book and daft books I will never read such a waste of money! Says they retail £65 which is absolute rubbish! One book is completely damaged! Will never buy from here again!

PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Placed an order for a mystery box a month ago. Had an email confirming but a whole month later the order still shows at pending. I have tried several times to contact them and no response. Rip off!
Update...I opened a case with PayPal and then magically the box did turn up.
So 39 days after ordering placed. It was a large box but I'd say 95% of it was totally unusable. Several items were damaged and open because of poor packing. Open crackers, squashed jellys that had no colour left. Blackcurrant flavour peanut butter that was open and had leaked everywhere.
Most items were well over a year out of date, some discoloured. The rest were just the worst flavours of stuff that shops just wouldn't be able to sell. Squash that was discoloured and flavours like sour apple or cucumber and lime. Squashed cakes that were 6 months out of date.
No response to emails or messages except through the PayPal complaint.
Absolute sham and a rip off

Purchased a mystery Christmas box it arrived this morning. I was really impressed with the items received. Excellent mix of items some better than expected. Would recommend and would buy again.

I left a glowing review for ClearanceXL after my first orders in March, great value, decent communication and delivery in expected timeframes. Since, the value is not what it was back then. I've almost placed orders a few times, but haven't checked out due to difficulty viewing weights of items on site, some of which aren't accurate (I've checked product UPIs and have also bought identical products from elsewhere) the value just wasn't there. Some of the items were no better than supermarkets and others only reduced a little, so it's not worth paying the delivery and the wait.

In August, there was finally enough stock of the right items to warrant an order, which I placed, totalling £66. The £5.99 fixed delivery cost for up to 60kg is, admittedly, very good. As I wasn't in a rush I went for the 7-30 day option, order completed after close of business on 29/08/24 (a Thursday), so delivery due by 30/09/24, fine, I'd agreed to that.

19/09/24, I receive a notification my order was completed and was "despatched today". Silence followed, no tracking number, no further update etc.

24/09 and 26/09 I receive requests for reviews on the products, which had not even left their premises. I sent a reply asking for a tracking number and no response. On 27/09 I asked for either a tracking number and confirmation of delivery the following week, or a refund of the cost of the order.

The following week, magically, DPD receive the shipment (the one that was sent two weeks earlier) and it finally arrived at the end of that week.

Unfortunately, the quality of the items is awful. I'm well and truly familiar with the concept of Best Before (I litigate product liability cases) and I do not, for one moment, expect pristine, perfect products, I expect something that is past its best, but which is still of 'satisfactory quality'. However, so many of these items have clearly been stored badly and/or are so far beyond their best before they are inedible. Many of the items have an odd taste, as if the oil/fat in the products has reached a point of rancidity (via oxidation) which generally occurs when items have been stored in the light and/or in a place that is too hot.

I have a reasonable expectation of quality when buying any product and with this type of order, buying past the best before date, there will be the odd item that isn't right and I'm happy to take that on the chin but, at an estimate, over half of the items are inedible.

The other reviews seem to confirm the same approach, that the business appears to rely upon having the 'best before' to rely upon as a shield (which only works to a point) but which has a less than interested approach to their customers.

Noting the aggressive responses from the owner on the other posts, including reference to the Police (albeit I am unsure what interest they would have in such matters), I am happy to be contacted by any such entities as are investigating the same. Should clearancexl have instructed Solicitors, as this appears to be a highly serious matter, those Solicitors are welcome to contact me also to confirm the veracity of this review.

Whilst this should not be necessary, given DPA 2018 Schedule 2, Part 1, s.5(3)(a) and (c) removes a right of privilege in matters relating to Court proceedings, I confirm my agreement to my contact details, as held by ClearanceXL Ltd and/or TrustPilot, being disclosed to any Solicitor, Police or other Regulatory entity who may wish to contact me.

Although delivery takes a long time and seller communication skills are not on point I'm very happy with my surprise box...I was honestly surprised great selection of good quality non perishable goods. I will buy again.

you are absolutely gambling with this firm;
any damage & highly likely he'll try shift the blame to the delivery co. Then when the delivery co makes a mistake (they never told me the item was delivered to totally different flat in the attached-block) they will not help you resolve the matter with the courier. That item was a v heavy (near 70-80kg) so I had to wait to buy a trolley & only found out about its whereabouts when new 'keepers' left me a note days after the delivery. I found the box was damaged on going to collect it; so my items were a real effort to pick-up. I have had deliveries go ok & you just have to think are the item(s) worth the gamble. I'd say crisps & cake tend to survive. But flour & heavy dried goods there's nearly always tears & ive even had stuff delivered with cello-tape attempted repair on an unsealed whole grain type flour. ...He argued continuously that it was the delivery co's fault!!! How-why would they go into a multi-item parcel containing many cardboard boxes to select 1 item for damage & attempted repair. His company changed login procedure so the internal e-mail stopped working & he continued with the how do I know it was shipped with the sellotape? Crazy deflection & impassive to reason.

On a good note if you only need non-food items like shampoos hand washes cleaning items they have been delivered in as satisfactory a manner to match the amazing prices some of them are priced at.

Excellent company very good discount price with the best quality everything perfect I don't have any complains like others who left negative feedback and blamed such an excellent company like XL clearance

I placed the order on 03/09/2024 I have chosen processing time and delivery from 7-30 and I paid £5.99 they processed after two weeks and delivery took about five days in total after 19 days I have received my order on 24/09/2024 without any damages as they packed very well nothing squashed nothing damaged nothing missed all in perfect conditions

I have been a customer of clearance XL for over 10 years with no prior issues with orders other than the occasional item being a little damaged in transit which is never a problem as it’s a clearance site and I don’t expect everything to be perfect.
However I placed an order on the 15th of August today is the 23rd of September and although when checking with my account it says that the order has been completed it has not been received.
It’s been well over a month and although I don’t expect the items instantly, I do like an update but it looks like the items are not arriving with me. I’ve not had even a dispatch message, which is pretty standard these days when a parcel starts its journey.
I have messaged clearance XL twice just to see if I can get an update or a tracking number or even the courier that the item was sent by but up till now I’ve had no response from them which is a shame.
I have checked back and I see that Clearance XL no longer affiliating themselves with trustpilot due to abuse issues So I will do as suggested by clearance xl previous responses and go on the website and leave reviews according to my experience if I don’t get a timely response to my latest message via their online contact form.
I Would just like to know where my items are and when I will be receiving them, but I’m doubtful that I will get them now as it’s been a very long time and sadly I’m not receiving any responses From the company
If they do read this message, I would be grateful if they could get back to me. I don’t want to leave a poor review - and will be happy to amend my rating accordingly once I have the items ordered but I really do need a resolution to this as I’ve paid my money and I really would like the items that I’ve ordered please.

Update - I have now had a response from ‘clearance xl’ who still refuse to let me know if they are sending my order or not, but have told me that after leaving a 1 star review they will not be prioritising looking at my order!!
I suggested a cancellation and full refund instead if they are now unable to fulfil the order but was then told that I would incur fees and deductions (plus my account would be closed) if I wanted to do this - but they still wouldn’t tell me if they intended to ship my order or not or what the ‘fees’ were or what they were for.

I then spoke to Trading Standards who told me that if the items are not shipped within the maximum one month time period given at the time of purchase then I am entitled to a FULL refund, without any deductions or ‘fees’.
I am covered for non delivery under Section 75, and I then contacted my credit card provider to start the FULL refund process directly as ‘clearance xl’ are in breech of contract and I can’t be bothered with the non-replies and when replied to - the hostile comments, lack of answering to very simple, direct questions (such as - are you going to send my order please and if so, when?) and the ridiculous rules saying they will deduct money from my order when they haven’t bothered to dispatch it in nearly 6 weeks.

What a shame that this company has come to this - the hostility is palpable - Paul appears to take every comment as a personal vendetta against him - and yet after looking at the reviews of many disgruntled customers still doesn’t put things right…… its just either stony silence, or hostile messages with account closure threats and money being deducted - ‘clearance xl’ has gone downhill I’m sorry to say, despite my best efforts to reach out to them to find a resolution - it’s all a bit too much of an effort on their part to try to put things right.
It’s not a personal attack on you Paul when a paid for order is long past its maximum delivery time period and a customer gets in touch to see what’s going on as they are concerned.
It’s actually your responsibility as a business owner to let the customer know what’s going on and how your going to put things right - not responding to messages, leaving sarcastic and/or threatening messages when you do reply is not professional nor does it put a paying customers issue right.

Very bad customer service in regarding my order then it took over 30 days plus to arrive then when it did arrive none of items in my box was usable due to all going off in January 2023 what joke of company what of waste money thanks for nothing xl clearance very dodgy firm people stay clean of them unless you like out date stuff from 2years ago

I placed an order with them nearly a month ago. The order has apparently been "delivered" a few days ago but no attempt at a delivery was made. I've emailed there support email and received no reply. I won't be using this company again, they're clearly scammers.

EDIT: Clearly the owners are incapable of reading as proven by their reply. I have contacted their customer support and am still awaiting a reply. It has been 3 days. I can assure everyone I am a legitimate customer, and have the emails as proof. So yes, this company are clearly a scam, stay well clear!
