Been attending courses in various art & design disciplines for over 8 years now, excellent tutors and facilities.

Until the pandemic the customer service was outstanding, but since then it's impossible to speak to a person if you have any issues or need to ask questions in choosing the right course/level. Also several of the longer design and illustration courses were cancelled last minute due to low enrolments.

After going though the pain of making arrangements at work/travel to be able to attend or attending the course for work development training, it's very disappointing and cumbersome.

Enrolled on a course Autumn 2023 - which was cancelled with very little notice .
Enrolled on a ? Replacement Course due to start next week . Due to my previous experience - started to contact CIty Lit at the beginning of last week for joining instruction as I had not heard anything ! I called - and left a message - zero response - I sent a completed contact form - zero response - and after 12 calls this morning - got a human on the phone who gave me the actual department e mail . And yes you have guessed - the course is cancelled !! Due to low enrolment -how long would I have waited to find out the course was cancelled ? Now I wonder how long I will have to wait for my refund . Watch this space ..,

Teacher is great, facilities great all friendly and helpful.

Great range of things to do and learn.
A place for your brain to be stretched in an enjoyable and supportive way.

Brilliant class with excellent tutor. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the lack of catering in the evening. Even a vending machine for hot drinks would be good.

Great college to learn a varied number of subjects.Physical disciplines like dance and body expressing are on the menu. Same as history, art and technical subjects

I have completed multiple courses at CityLit. Surprised that there are so many varying courses! They are well taught, given good notes to help consolidate studies, teachers are friendly, patient, knowlegeable and suppotive. Furthermore, the courses are value for money. CityLit is accessible by public transport.
My only concern is the lack of out of hours catering even for tea or coffee especially for evening courses. It is a minor inconvenience.

CityLit's range of classes is just incredible. I'd highly recommend joining in whether you want a class to learn something fun, get new skills, acquire knowledge, keep your old brain cells active or just to meet people. The college offers in-person classes and online, the latter of which is a Godsend for me as I do not live in London. I enjoy learning and there is no end of topics/subjects that CityLit offers.

The art course was wholly up to expectations and excellent. The reason for lack of 5 stars are the cafe facilities - the cafe closes on a whim, for example, just before lunch time with no warning whatsoever! The cafe is not open for evening courses and there is no drinks machine as a substitute.

I generally enjoy the History of Art courses - particularly those based in the galleries.
I would give 5 stars were it not for the IT system. Just about everyone on my course experienced difficulty registering for a related Google account. Some may have given up. Surely it doesn't have to be this difficult?

A great institution with excellent classes in a wide range of subjects.

I really enjoyed the oil painting course. The teacher was so helpful and clear with his teaching and the facilities were a good standard. I learnt a lot! Great experience.

Very engaging and knowledgeable tutor. Great community atmosphere and a wide range of films, discussions, ideas. Thoroughly enjoyable all round.

My City Lit course is well-organised. The tutor is skillful, well-informed and sensitive to students' needs and abilities.

Great resource for art and design courses. I attend evening workshops on a regular basis. Very immersive experience every time I do. Good facilities...

A GREAT TEAM, GIVING A GREAT EXPERIENCE

The website is rubbish for all sorts of reasons. It is not user friendly except maybe to people under 40.
There is nowhere to get a coffee or bite to eat.
When I have wanted to use the photocopier in the student centre there has been no-one to help.
However, the tutor and accompanist in the Advanced song class are excellent.

Great place, great course, great teacher

So far I’m finding the Advance Figure drawing and painting course extremely stimulating and informative! The tutors and the fellow students absolutely lovely to deal with!
I would have no hesitation in encouraging others to take the Advance Figure Drawing and painting course at City Lit
