⭐ 1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointed and Shocked by the Service

I purchased a car on 19 April 2025 through Central Car Sales Leeds, and the warranty was arranged through Evolution Warranty. Until today, I had never needed to use the warranty. Unfortunately, during my recent MOT, several serious issues were identified — including ABS faults, a tyre issue, and other problems noted by the MOT specialist. I was advised not to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns.

Naturally, I contacted both Central Car Sales and Evolution Warranty.
Central Car Sales did not answer my calls at all. Evolution Warranty’s recovery team spoke to me on Saturday and told me to call another number on Monday.

When I called today, I was shocked to hear a message saying my account is closed due to non‑payment. This makes absolutely no sense, as my warranty is fully valid until 19 April 2026, and I have never missed a payment nor received any notification of an issue.

To make matters worse, I cannot reach anyone — not from my registered mobile number, not even from a different number. Every attempt leads to the same message: account closed. I am now left with a car deemed unsafe to drive, a warranty I paid for but cannot access, and zero support from either the dealer or the warranty provider.

This experience has been incredibly stressful and deeply disappointing.
I strongly urge anyone considering buying a car or warranty through these companies to be extremely cautious. My situation should never happen to anyone who has paid for a valid warranty and expects basic customer service.

Poor condition, dodgy MOT.

Bought a car from these guys last September with a fresh MOT, on the way home some 200 miles I noticed juddering from the brakes. The next day I took the brake caliper off thinking it would be just slide pins sticking or the pads sticking in the slides. It was actually the piston completely seized sold and by the state of it when I finally prized it out it had been that way for a long time, so don't take a fresh MOT as the condition being ok as the garage they are using must be pretty friendly to them. I also had to replace the battery with a couple of weeks.

I purchased a vehicle from Central…

Update November 2023. The car that I bought from this garage has just failed its first MOT with me with three major faults. This car supposedly had a glowing clean MOT when I bought it. Having driven it less than 2000 miles since this "perfect" MOT, for it to fail in three major faults speaks for itself. Excessive wear and tear does not occur in one year and less than 2000 miles driven.

I purchased a vehicle from Central Scotland Car Sales using Zuto Finance on 24th October 2022. It was promised that all their vehicles were of good quality used stock. The vehicle came with a two month initial warranty from the garage which is Central Scotland Car Sales. During the first two months, the vehicle had to be returned to the garage twice – once for a noise coming from the brakes and secondly for an electrical issue which caused the rear wiper to stop functioning. Both issues seemed to get resolved. Everything seemed to be going well for the first couple of months however not long after the two month warranty had expired, it became clear that this vehicle was not as good as it had first appeared. All four tyres on the vehicle were cracking very badly at the edges and for safety reasons, all four tyres were replaced at a cost of £300 on February 28th 2023 which was the first time I was able to raise money to afford to replace all four tyres. The rear wiper began to malfunction again and come on as soon as you turned the ignition on. The Bluetooth has stopped working. The odometer is constantly flashing the mileage. It wouldn't start at all on a few occasions and the message was warning of low fuel although the vehicle was just filled up. The car let me down on several occasions with a flat battery that just would not recharge or hold any kind of charge at all. I had to spend the amount of £120 on a new battery for the car. In less than six months of owning this “quality used car”, I have had to pay out the total sum of £650 in new tyres, new battery, diagnostics and wiring repairs (which were meant to have been fixed the first time within the two month warranty). There was also too much oil in the engine which had to be drained off. The vehicle has a faulty CTM module/Telematic Module which the finance company claim is a matter of general wear and tear, however electrical issues were highlighted on the vehicle within two months of owning the car and this matter has not been resolved or fixed. I reached out separately to Central Car Sales Scotland via their Facebook page enquiring if they had been made aware of these issues in case the finance company had not advised them. My message was ignored therefore I have decided to leave reviews of my experience.
