Denis came in this morning promptly and undertook the cleaning of our kitchen ventilation system. He did a wonderful job. We continue to use CHS for their professionalism, competence and good value.

Used this company a couple of times to buy Hobart equipment first time was fine but the 2nd time was a nightmare ordered the item and then it turned out there was a supply issue, this was completely out of their control however, trying to get information from them was impossible, eventually dealt with Hobart direct who were extremely helpful but Hobart then told chs to send the item and trying to find out when it is going to be dispatched is problematic spoke to customer service and they were as helpful as a chocolate teapot.
Their prices might be good but their customer service is awful

Misleading stock availability and poor customer care
I needed a three door bottle cooler for a birthday party, having looked on the internet it became obvious that stock was limited with all suppliers.Cateringhygiene was showing in stock what I needed so ordered and payed full amount. A couple of days later I received a email saying they were out of stock, which was frustrating. Finally after a few attempts I spoke to a sales person who checked on available stock and reordered with a additional cost. The cooler arrived a day late but fortunately when it did arrive I was there to receive it , the delivery driver and myself gave it a quick look over and all seemed fine. I stored it safely for two weeks until I needed it , unfortunately when all the packaging was removed for lifting it onto a cabinet it became apparent it was badly damage on the bottom corner. I immediately photographed it and reported this to Cateringhygiene ,the response from them was all damaged goods needed to be reported within 24 hours from delivery so they couldn’t help me . I am 100% certain the damage did not occur on my property and I am disappointed with their response, clearly they don’t believe or don’t care.

Steven I am sorry for your situation, however the delivery companies do not accept liability for damage in transit if it’s not reported within 24 hours We make it very clear when processing orders that you have this short window to report any damage. Our terms are in line with all our competitors this is standard within our industry.
As this subject has been raised so it is a perfect opportunity to share terms where costs can be incurred so other potential customers are aware of them. We don't hide them and all our competitors have very similar terms.
CHS Ltd aims to offer the lowest prices with quick professional telephone support, we’re constantly checking competitor’s prices, so you don’t have to thereby ensuring you get commercial quality products for the best prices! Like our competitors we are a business-to-business website and consumer rights do not apply as you are trading under business terms. We hold stock of a number of items but also ship from manufacturers and importers whom themselves and their delivery companies will pass any costs caused by our customer’s error back to us. To provide you the best possible price, we cannot absorb any additional charges passed on to us; to remain the cheapest if the error is due to our customers, we have no alternative but to pass these costs back. Understandably some people are unaware of business trading and can get frustrated even though we are very transparent with our terms. To avoid these issues arising on purchasing we send emails highlighting the points where additional charges can be incurred. We offer good customer service but work within the boundaries below, please be aware of the following areas where additional costs can be incurred.
1) Aborted deliveries for large items like fridges and ovens; please ensure you’re there for the delivery and a large lorry can get to your premises.
2) Engineers called to your site and the issue is not covered under warranty (e.g. like a faulty fuse). The manufacturer will send us the invoice for work outside the warranty, we will request a fully refundable deposit prior to authorising the engineer. This is refunded in full when the manufacturer confirms the repairs were undertaken under warranty.
3) Most companies require damage in-transit to be reported within 24 hours. To help support your situation please take plenty of photographs of the damaged box with the delivery driver, if possible. Sign the note as damaged if you accept it.
4) With re-stocking we do not cover the return postage and will not pay for your re-stocking fees if imposed by the manufacturers or importer.
5) If you have a back to base warranty you’ll need to cover the postage and we will act as the messenger between yourselves and the manufacturer. They may not cover misuse like scale in a water boiler when a filter should have been used.
6) Some manufacturers may not accept back any item that has been used or is not in the original packaging.
The points above can understandably be contentious for people unaware of standard business terms and we’re pleased to make customers aware of these situations to minimise them occurring in future. We are a fair company who’ll not change our terms for customers who are abusive, repetitive or threaten to post public reviews. If you want the best prices in the industry and great customer service whilst working within these boundaries we are a great company to trade with. When shopping elsewhere within our industry please be aware all our competitors have very similar terms.

Bought compressor packed up.
Taken them over 8 weeks to sort.
When finally sorted broke down within 3 days.
Lost sales and stock.
Still waiting for reply and repair updates.

Terrible
We ordered a toaster with this company as the price was significantly less than their competitors. The postage was slow and the box was tattered upon receipt. The toaster was broken. We attempted to contact CHS several times but the company either was non responsive or not interested. Thankfully, we paid via PayPal and had payment protection so eventually were refunded after opening a lengthy case. Even more frustrating, was that we were out of pocket for the return postage too. Shocking from start to finish. Terrible customer service. Avoid.

I am not normally someone who complains…
I am not normally someone who complains as i prefer to give people the benfit of the doubt, however, after the Dualit panini machine I purchased arrived and it appeared to been used previously (certainly unboxed before) a piece of the equipment was damaged, this was collected and I am still waiting for the refund, I have chased this several times, get a reply to apologies for the delay and someone will get back to me, then nothing until I email again, get another apology and told someone is looking into it and so this goes on.
I will be notifying my credit card company on Monday to begin the charge back as I am fed up of waiting on the empty promises- this has been going on since 15th of July over 7 weeks!!

The delay in the refund was down to issues collecting the item, then we cannot issue the refund until Dualit confirms they have checked it and accepted responsibility, there was again a delay with this. Severe lack of communication
Given that 38% of reviews are negative, this tells you something about the company's lack of communication.
How many personal customers do you know that trawl through pages of terms and conditions?!! If someone had actually bothered to pick up the phone and speak to me and alert me to these facts which by the way are not highlighted, I would not be writing on Trust Pilot.
Whether business to business, business to personal or personal to personal, communication is vital. What is worse is that this company have basically implied that unless I agree to them taking 30% of the value of the purchase AND an £80 collection charge, they will not take the item away. Surely if this was in their cleverly crafted terms, that I should have read word for word, they would not need to threaten not to remove the item?!
The item is blocking our front door. My husband's carer and all other visitors are having difficulty getting past it. No phone call from them, just silence. Unbelievable situation. I ordered this item for my husband's laundry as he is bedbound. If aomeone had spoken to me about the product, I would have been alerted to the fact that it may not be suitable for home use as it requires a much higher voltage of electricity to function and I do not have the capacity to do this.

Please avoid this company, I bought a triple fridge off them and it’s was 4 weeks late on arrival. Then when it finally arrived it’s done nothing but leak. It took them 8 weeks to finally get a engineer round, when he arrived he said it was un repairable but this Mickey Mouse outfit are still contesting it, saying there not giving me a refund or a replacement. Please please please don’t give them your hard earned money, it’s the worst customer service I’ve ever had.

Kirk I'm sorry you've felt the need to express this publicly because your warranty is not with us but the manufacturer. Unfortunately the engineer hasn't corrected the issue to your satisfaction nor did he say the fridge should be scrapped. To resolve this they have offered to uplift your beer fridge run tests on it at their factory then return it, however this is not a route you are willing to take. The manufacturer is trying to resolve this for you but needs every opportunity to assess it first.

Cowboys !! Avoid!! I placed my order 09/07 with a 3 working day delivery, after not hearing called 16/07 to chase, was told to expect delivery deforme 21/07 !! Called 21/07 to be told it’s now out of stock and if I want to keep my order I have to pay an additional £40+ vat and delivery won’t be before 23/07, CustomerService is shocking and rude ! there are plenty of other suppliers out there, give them your custom not this circus !

Daniel your purchase was held up by a payment review on PayPal so we couldn't release the product until this was resolved. Within this time frame the product sold out through our normal supplier. Please accept our apologies a new member of staff tried to assist by sourcing through a more expensive channel, this is not our normal practice and she has been retrained.
