We design and manufacture commercial fabrics for spaces and places from offices to universities, hotels to hospitals, for buses to trains. Our textils are made by people, for people. For eyes and ears, bottoms and backs. Creating material moments, where textile style meets real world substance.
Our textile roots can be traced all the way back to 1783, when a British company named Bradbury Fabrics was founded in Huddersfield, not far from where our current manufacturing takes place today. Acquired by Camira in 2012, the company specialised in contract textiles and introduced a number of new products and capabilities to our portfolio.
Our core manufacturing site was established in Meltham Mills, Huddersfield. Now home to over 100 looms, this site produces over 220,000 metres of fabric each week, stores over 100,000 rolls, and is where we make, finish, stock, and supply the majority of our products.
The Made by Camira ethos remains as strong as ever. We continue to explore ways in which we can make beautiful fabrics using the traditional textile heritage on which our name is built, whilst also investing in state-of-the art technologies to remain at the industry’s forefront. In 2022, we acquired a ground-breaking textile recycling company named iinouiio, which will play an important role in our future developments, and ensure we are the natural choice for fabric and textile solutions globally.

Free samples are great
Free samples are great, also fast shippings. The only critique I have is that the colors looked more vivid on the fotos and it was hard for me as a newbie to understand the coarseness of the fabric from the picture, maybe a centimeter scale would be helpful.

Ordered samples never received, but great support

Quick turnover
Quick turnover from sample request to delivery.
Pictures in website are realistic in colour. Size of the actual twine/weave was hard to visualize from image. Samples help a lot with that.

This company owns 'Holmfirth Dyers' in…
This company owns 'Holmfirth Dyers' in Holmfirth and they have caused nothing but hell for their neighbours since Camira took them over!
They have noisey machinery going all throughout the night, they constantly break promises about keeping the noise down, and the banging at 4 in the morning is absolutely horrendous!
I'm told that the last round of banging was Friday night... they thought a car crash had happened outside their house..but no, it was just these selfish sods banging about at 3:45 am! This continued for an hour and a half. Outrageous really.
I visited (and was staying at) a local pub nearby while passing through and experienced this banging for myself.
Environmental health has been involved for years but Huddersfield council (like all council departments now) aren't fit for purpose! We are currently complaining against environmental health for failing to take effective action against Holmfirth Dyers!
Holmfirth Dyers now have told environmental health that since they produce more than 100 tons of cloth per year that they have signed up to a European environmental agency so we will complain to them also.
However, the only way that they could get to 100 tons of cloth per year was by breaking local environmental health legislation and working throughout the night!
We have witnessed staff at the plant violently assault members of the public (proof caught on camera) and no-one likes living next to this site as it no longer feels safe! Its absolute hell living next to this nightmare of a place!
We are forming a citizens group and shall do the following -
1 - Continue complaining via Huddersfield environmental health,
2- Complain via the European environment agency that they signed up to,
3 - Start to look into taking legal action via the local citizens action group,
... we have truly had enough of this shower of selfish sods!
Well saying the rich owners of this business wouldn't house themselves next to the mill!
Don't buy a house within 400 yards of this place. All houses that surround it (back and front) have been through hell with these guys for years, but they truly couldn't care less!
