Recently visited (22nd March) the Sutton Park restaurant for a belated birthday Sunday lunch.
Front desk had taken our booking over the phone and were very pleasant and on arrival we were seated very quickly and confirmation of our allergies were highlighted as per our request.
Staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and exceptionally polite.
The food we ordered was very nice, well presented and cooked to perfection, thoroughly enjoyed our two course meal (Didn't have room for dessert).
There was a couple of things that didn't spoil our visit but we wanted to raise.
Unfortunately, and this is no fault of Browns, the weather wasn't the best on that day and was exceptionally cold, unfortunately, and while the restaurant accommodated our request of a level floor due to wife's disability, the table was near the front door for customers entering and was permanently open, not only ourselves but other customers were uncomfortable with how cold they were with the draft blowing through, however, as said, its of no fault of Browns with the weather, but perhaps someone on front desk may have noticed people replacing their coats.
There is one major problem which ourselves and other customer made reference to as they had small children, but we believe that there is absolutely no place for pets (Dogs) being allowed in a restaurant that serves food, a guide dog yes, but one instance in our visit there was a serious looking Alsatian dog, on a lead yes, but approached me whilst eating, the owner while carrying its dog food bowl pulled the lead back and apologised, I'm sorry but any pet animals should not be allowed inside, I think the potential reasons for a 'accident' are quite plain.
We would consider another visit, while the food is good, it is slightly overpriced.

Staff could not cope with the Mother’s Day crowd (all pre-booked) coming into the restaurant. We arrived at our booking time and then waited in a queue of five or so groups for 15 minutes whilst the concierge worked through it. Table service was quite efficient once we got there but unfortunately all the food was both cold and overcooked, except onion rings which were greasy and undercooked at the bottom, (after one absolutely delicious one). It did come out quick, but this makes you wonder how it had a chance to get over cooked and cool in the time frame we had. After debating whether to stay for dessert we decided to grab one somewhere else. Staff seemed quite pleased (or maybe just blissfully unaware) to be getting us out and we paid up 30 per head for our over cooked main meals and we’re gone within 45 minutes. Not great on any day but as a Mothers Day treat this was really poor.

A birthday visit to the Canary Wharf resturant was an excellent choice. Food was amazing and plentiful. However the service received from Louis our waiter made the visit a very memorable one. He picked up it was a birthday visit and not only made it feel very special Loius topped it off with a lovely personal treat for dessert. Thank you so much. Every resturant needs a Louis, a rare find indeed!!

cold chips and had sourdough sandwich while agree bread is drier than normal bread the chicken was also dry and not tasty just tasted burned both me and my daughter had it chids fish and chips was ok was using a gift card for my 60th and paid the difference in my opinion over priced for dried cold food waitresse was very friendly and helpful the man that gave the bill was off when i said about the meal not very professional wouldnt go there again shame lovely venue

My Wife & I decided to try out Browns restaurant in Bushey Heath.

The whole experience was extremely disappointing with a final bill of over one hundred pounds to pay for very very average food.
The staff did not really seem to know what was going on.
One instance we asked for some water, it arrived in a bottle, staff poured the water into our glasses and then took the rest of the bottled water away which we thought was very odd behaviour.
We then later asked for some more water and this time a staff member left us the bottle which always happens in restaurants anyway.
One tip I would give Browns is to make sure your food & service is of the highest quality before giving out a final bill for that amount!

Visited Birmingham branch. Customer service was very good, staff were all very accommodating especially our waiter Ash. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was the wait for our first cocktail was quite long and my scallops were cooked a bit less than I asked for.

Polite and friendly staff. Giving the circumstances, it was quiet..but who's to blame?!
Ordered sea bass, which was compared to other restaurants huge and very delicious, served with king prawns, salad and small potatoes... absolutely lovely. Also sirloin stake and chips..perfectly done. Price wise: max £20 per meal. Enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend!!! Thank you A*****

Had a fantastic experience at Browns Cardiff this weekend. The food was brilliant, and the service from James was flawless.
My friends and I have a birthday do coming up next month and this is where we’ll be headed.

I have attended your establishment on a few occasions and feel compelled to raise some serious concerns.

On my first visit I was refused entry because I was wearing a tshirt. While I appreciate that you are entitled to enforce a dress code, this was not explained clearly, and the way it was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.

On my second visit, I attended with a group of friends for a special occasion. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and was shocked to see it poured first into a silver measuring vessel and then transferred into a glass. As someone who has worked in the wine and restaurant trade, I know this practice destroys the carbonation and compromises the quality of the drink.

When I politely asked the bartender not to serve it this way, I was told, “I have to do what I’m told.” By the time it reached my glass, the Prosecco had lost most of its bubbles. At nearly €9 per glass, this was completely unacceptable.

I was considering ordering champagne but did not do so because I was concerned it would be treated the same way. That should never be a concern in a professional bar.

It gave me the clear impression that this venue prioritises profit and control over proper service standards and customer experience. For that reason, I will not be returning.

Food and atmosphere was so calm and friendly. Amelia our waitress was very bubbly and answered all our questions with ease

This was my first and last visit to Browns.
I regret to say that I would never recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or business associates. The unprofessional behaviour of the staff ruined the birthday surprise I had arranged for my future wife.

I had lunch at Browns Southgate today. It would have been overall a pleasant experience as the place is cozy and clean and the food is delicious. However, having ordered a vegetarian dish, I found, yet again, that it was a starter size portion for the price of a main dish. My companion's meal (fish and chips) was massive and the contrast was stark and shameless. We were both somewhat taken aback and I voiced my disappointment to the waitress who listened and walked off without uttering a word.

Offering a vegetarian dish of this size appears as disrespectful as it is illogical. The ingredients are cheaper, there is no protein in it, so if anything, the portion should be bigger. And yet Browns appear to be following the overall trend shown by food-serving pubs of not being serious about clients ordering anything other than meat.

We had Christmas Day dinner at Browns in Kingston and it was exceptional from start to finish.

We began with the Devonshire Crab & King Prawn Cocktail – beautifully fresh, perfectly balanced with the classic cocktail sauce, and the toasted brioche was a gorgeous touch.
The Beef Wellington was the star of the show: seared fillet cooked exactly as it should be, wrapped in rich portobello duxelles and crisp puff pastry, with honey & parsnip purée, red wine jus and beef dripping crumb bringing everything together.
To finish, the Champagne Sabayon was light, elegant and festive – Moët & Chandon custard, macerated berries and crisp puff pastry… absolutely faultless.

But honestly, as impeccable as the food was, the service and atmosphere were every bit as impressive. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming – the kind of hospitality you don’t see often enough these days. The attention to detail was spot on, and the whole experience felt special without ever being stuffy.

It is, without question, the best restaurant in Kingston upon Thames. A few places could take a leaf out of their book.

Where do I start ! Paid £367 for Christmas dinner for 2 adults 1 child and never have we ever had such poor quality food . My roast come out with gravy by the time I got the gravy the meal wasn’t even warm. There was 2 tiny potato’s that had seen better days, the parsnip was that hard I couldn’t cut through it and I was fuming the beef wellington was hard and dry never seen filet steak in that state in my entire life. My daughters pudding was burnt so bad it had stuck together, my partner looked at me and said I can’t believe we paid almost £400 for this no seasoning I had to salt the hell out of mine the gravy when I got it was like water no flavour at all just tasted like water. We also paid to have champagne on arival no one gave it or offered it we had to ask near to the end why we had not received our champagne. The music was so loud I couldn’t hear my partner talking and it was upsetting my child. The canapays omg had clearly been left out the bread was hard around the edges with dried out cheese , the crab was ok on the cracker. But the cheese board was awful only 2 peaces wasn’t dried one peace had turned dark orange around the edges where it had been left out in the air or a fridge to long it was the worst roast dinner we have ever eaten ruined our family day and I will never ever go back highly disappointing is an understatement we feel conned out of a lot of money they clearly was not coping with the amount of customers they was like headless chickens it was packed and Hurd the table next to us saying they was never going back they was not happy and left most of there food . My duck around the edges had gone hard I took a lot of photos just to show my family how bad it was everyone was utterly disgusted. Shame it’s gone so down hill . Why have so many customers in if you can’t keep up the standards. We did tip our waitress she was running about doing her upmost and couldn’t apologise enough . We have eaten in over 200 restaurants and let me tell you now this was the worst a £10 pud roast was 100x better , you don’t expect to pay almost £400 out for Christmas dinner to have to come home and make more food to eat that’s actually edible and has taste .

Yesterday I went Browns Victoria. I had the fish pie and it was very very disappointing. Small portion, dry, no flavour and minimal fish. I counted two prawns. It was £19.50 and to be honest if I spent £6 for a Marks & Spencer or Waitrose fish pie I would have been much more happier. Not the standard I expected. Need to seriously improve the dish.

Browns Manchester is a beautiful venue. The staff were charming and the food was good. They accommodated a table for a wheelchair user extremely well. Sadly I cannot rate 4 stars, as when we asked for the fish to be filleted as I was only able to use one hand, the waiter returned with it saying they were unable to do this. Fortunately I was able to teach my grandson how to this. Shame, we expected better

Great food and excellent service. Myself and my daughter had a lovely breakfast at Browns on the 2nd December 2025. We were celebrating her birthday. The breakfast was delicious. We were served by Laura who was very nice and friendly. This isn't the first time Laura has served us! Last year we were here too, for my daughter's birthday breakfast! Her service is exceptional and she is fantastic at her job.

Popped into this little cafe as I was on a visit to Oxford .Had a hot chocolate and a bacon sandwich which was bought to me shortly after ordering. The bread was so fresh and plenty of bacon filled it.Hot chocolate could have been hotter but that's me , i like it steaming ! By the time I had eaten the place had filled up and a queue had formed .if I'm ever in Oxford again I will definitely be visiting

We have used Browns of Covent Garden for many years and have found it to be a safe place to eat with excellent staff. However last night we went and found the bar area had been given over to tables for people to eat, so meeting in the bar was a real challenge. Then instead of a large boothe we were given a table in a dark area near the bar - not good. Then only the christmas menu was presented. Three courses for £50.00. The prawn cocktails were freezing so they had no taste. The christmas dinners were covered in thick brown gravy which in the dare looked horrible and the food in reality was not worth the money with I think they were parsnips being hard and innedible. Then we all had christmas pud and asked for lashings of custard. Extra custard appeared in tiny ammounts whicg wqe were then charged and extra £1 each for them. All in all very diasapointing!

Myself and 2 friends met last Saturday at Browns Suttonn Park for a birthday brunch.
We were served by Dylan who was a truly charming lad who showed us the different menus. Two had the bottomless brunch and another was the driver so chose the normal menu. Dylan was very attentive, informative and didn’t rush us. He also advised us that our table wasn’t booked after us so we could take our time. We had a lovely afternoon and Dylan made sure we were topped up with our drinks.
We will definitely be returning and hope that we get such great service again.
