big lots need to move forward into today's reality. I got a store card and bought a sofa. I have a debit card. I couldn't pay my bill by phone or web site as they stopped taking cards... both debit and credit. Then they stopped taking payments at the store! So what now?? I went in to the Big Lots on Colfax in Wheat Ridge yesterday and had the worst retail experience of my life I asked a question and the clerk was less than helpful even tho I was showing the question I had right to her (on the receipt thingie) After the clerk and her "buddy" standing next to her got a little snippy with me saying they were stressed I told them why I was stressed. My son had been killed earlier in the week. It went from bad to worse and I asked for the manager. I did get upset and was crying and raising my voice. Tho the manager did say I'm sorry for your loss (with a blank stare on her face) she continued to say "You can't be mean to my staff" to anything I said. There was NO effort to calm me down and ever thing she said was with a flat expression. Being half hysterical I did said F You to one of the young male clerks who was actually escalating the situation with his belligerent - yes his belligerent behavior. He flipped his thumb at me and said "Back atcha" - I realize I should not have said that. But that is no way for a "customer service type" person to treat a grieving mother or anyone. I did ask why can't they couldn't let me calm down so I could buy my stuff and she told me to "go outside then". In my life I have never gotten crazy upset with retail people. I don't understand how they could have handled it so badly - there was no kindness or compassion. And of course that's all I would have needed to calm down
On the other hand I had one of the best retail experiences I had when I called to make a complaint. A young man named Clelland was kind, empathetic and showed true compassion - as I said that is all I needed from the store staff. And I told them that albeit with my voice raised and tears pouring down my face. Thank you for listening.
Went in Marianna Florida's Big Lots…
Went in Marianna Florida's Big Lots yesterday for the first time in 2 years and it was so bad in that store!!!! The prices were outrageous and the store was so messy. I worked there for 5 years with a very good manager at the time and the store was so nice back then. Can't believe this Big Lots is still open it sucks Bad. I will never go back again!!
You should pay people what you owe them
My wife worked for them for 1yr and 8 months. They closed the stores she worked and was told she would receive severance pay and accumulated vaca time. Got the severance pay, no vacation pay. They blocked her and won't answer phone calls. Worst company around. No wonder they're bankrupt

Don't Order Online
I tried to order 4 items online for the first time ever. I was short on time and needed to be able to run in and run out. I made sure that my store was set and placed my order on the site. I received emails saying that my pick up was ready. One item was cancelled without notification due to no inventory although it showed as in stock. Two items were ready for pick up at a store miles from my home and the remaining items was ready at my store. Calling did no good because the associate was clueless and rude, so I contacted customer service for a complete cancellation. I spent an inordinate amount of time dealing with this online and I'm done. Ridiculous.....

Shame on you big lots now you are requiring customers to use a pin number or another credit card number. We cannot run our check cards as debit anymore without using a pin number. Guess what you have Lost my business and my families business forever I shopped for three hours in your store just now this is the third time I have went through this three hours and didn’t have another card with me and you’re requiring a pin number so the $500 payment is going to go in another corporations pocket
Be careful by infurniture from big lots
Bought a love seat and recliner, love seat broken big lots gave me such the run around that I eventually gave up. All they could offer me was a $50 coupon. Customer service was not in the U.S I called a store in Blue Ash, where they was most helpful to give me the phone number of the manufacturer but to no avail, that company was no help at all. (Mesa)
Do Not Order Furniture Online!!!!
I ordered a couch from Big Lots on 7/31/24, stating that it would be shipped to the local store BY 8/21/24. I have ordered two previous couches from Big Lots (both in store), so didn't realize the awful journey I was embarking on ordering online for an item that was not in stock in any local stores. On 8/22, I reached out for the first time to customer service via email as I had not been contacted regarding my order and it stated that it was still processing. I was informed at this time (well, technically after receiving a response - being escalated to a "specialist" which can take up to 7 business days to respond) that my order was delayed due to the manufacturer (Ashley) and would be shipped by 9/3/24. On 9/4, I reached back out ... was again escalated to a specialist, waited another ~7 business days and was then informed that they were unable to give me an updated shipping date. At this time, I requested a credit on the order, which was granted at 10%. They asked if I would like to continue waiting and I stated that I would. Mid-September I chose to reach out by phone; I spent 40 minutes on the phone with someone who was, ultimately, unable to help me, said she would have a manager call me back and never did. I called again on 9/25, again they were unable to help and, again, I was escalated to a specialist (back via email and all this time it was the same person "Amy" who was responding to my emails). They continued to state that they had no idea when (or even if) the item would be shipped out and continued to say that they had no further information to give me and no further discounts could be applied. On 9/27, almost two months after making, and being charged for, this order, I decided to cancel it and order elsewhere. Probably should've done that a long time ago but... hindsight. Anyways - unless you'd like to end up like me, I do not recommend ordering furniture from them online!!!!

my original complaint was about biglots charging interest when it was supposed to be zero.
So, I thought all of it was resolved because they issued a check for the interest but today as I am going over my bank statement, these crooks canceled the check and of course my bank has charged me a fee too!
so glad when the last biglots closes because they do not deserve to have any customers!

Always enjoy shopping here. Good customer service, clean store, lots of items to choose from. Please don't close down Big Lots. It's my favorite place to shop. Please continue with the deals and coupons.
Purchased a chair at Big Lots Store…
Purchased a chair at Big Lots Store 1362 in Tulsa, OK. It was on clearance. After ringing up the charges, we were charged more than the original price! After calling out the man who rang up the chair, it was discovered he did not give us the clearance price; nor our military discount. He was very rude when I asked him about it. However, he did correct the invoice and we were given a discount which was to be posted to our credit card. This did not happen right away, actually took an addition 3 days.
I will never step another foot inside a Big Lots store and I will tell anyone and everyone about my experience with them.

Big lots Manteca is closing soon. I never had a very poor experience in any retail store except in this store . Stacy who helped me was very very very rude . She should not be working for customer service. First she said they don’t have cart, second she is not accepting my birthday coupon even if it is not expired . Her reason is because they are closing . Third is she did not provide any bag despite I bought some breakable items. This is an unforgettable experience . I just want to exit the store . It does not mean that they are closing , they can treat their customers unsatisfactory. Their service was unacceptable and needs to be corrected. I hope Big Lots customer care management will do something about this . You need to evaluate her is she can still be in a retail providing service to public . Very uneducated…..
Orange Park , Florida store is closing soon !
My favorite BIG LOTS store on Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park ,Florida is closing after being in that same location for over a decade ! I am sad as it was about a mile from where I live and now I have to drive over five miles to go to the nearest one ! I always got bargain prices on food , drinks , and many other items in the years that I shopped there .
Company Closing
Well as we know the company is closing multiple stores, this store on Warrenton Rd in Fredericksburg VA has got to be the worst along with the company putting out fake coupons. As our purchase was finalized we presented our coupons that were emailed 2 days prior did not scan, we were told they expired when in fact there was no expiration date on the coupon and the cashier stated she could not enter the numbers to override. It also was revealed the coupons could not be used in a closing store on top of there discounted store anyway. They have not made it clear as to how and why not the coupons aren't for everyone. At the end and slow demise they are getting messy in how they treat the people who have supported them this far. I had a few things I wanted to purchase with coupon but returned those and only purchased what I needed then. I don't know if she rang correctly or the discount was applied because the register was out of paper and no receipts. Last visit to that store for sure it's pure trash now and they have no care, it's not out fault be mad at your management, your corporate. Good Riddens!! Bad service
Big Lots doesn't care about customer after purchase!
I bought over $2000 worth of furniture at the Big Lots in Cheyenne, WY. When I purchased the Broyhill, Wellsley Collection power recliner and sofa set, the sales rep told me that the chassis/frame had an eight year manufacturer warranty. It is four and a half years later and the left side of the loveseat is having some issues. I emailed their support and finally got a response from customer care from a person named Terry. I explained the issue and they immediately came back and said, "Your furniture is out of warranty," and would not help me. I asked them if they could at least provide information for a mobile repair person, because they have staff repair people for field service on warranties, but again, Terry said they would not help that they don't have people to do repairs.
I will NEVER purchase furniture from Big Lots again, they do not stand behind their products or provide service when it is needed. I just purchased a $700 mattress and went to Furniture Row since Big Lots doesn't care about their customers.

I bought a pool and the pump was broken. I called and wrote that they would replace it for me, a week later they told me that my problem was solved and my case was closed. But I never saw a solution to my problem. Bad store and bad customer care
Negative refund experience
I ordered a gazebo from Big Lots. It was over 1,000 after the delivery charge. I received a call on July 2nd to schedule the delivery on a day I would not be home. They wanted to place a 350 pound item by my front door. The person on the phone was rude and unprofessional refusing to have the heavy item put in my backyard. The ground is flat and not large. They said we will put it in a room on the first floor of your choice. I refused. Worse customer service. I called customer service to cancel the item requesting a refund. 3 emails and another call to customer service and I still have not received confirmation of the refund. It is now July 10th. I went to Lowes, ordered a gazebo that came to my home with free delivery. They placed it in the backyard for me. Oh it was also 300 less purchasing from Lowes. l will never order a big item or expensive item for delivery from Big Lots again.
