The Eltham Centre is a bit tired…
The Eltham Centre is a bit tired looking and some facilities are not always available but I think it is good value for money. I’m also aware that the centre will be undergoing a refresher shortly

I am new to the area so thought I would…
I am new to the area so thought I would pop in to see the facilities. I had a great tour from a young gentleman named Ray and he showed me how to use some of the equipment and also offered to write me a programme. I even ended up joining on the spot with the help of the receptionist Sophie , very helpful and helped me download the app they have and show me how to use it. Looking forward to my workouts - very helpful and friendly staff 👍

Great help and support! last…
I had a complete hip replacement last December and was referred to Healthwise at Better Gym. I must say I was quite impressed by the standard of help and support is received. I now have a gym membership and go swimming twice and gym twice a week.

It was our first swimming session and my 4 year old loved it. Mona, the swimming instructor wa really professional and kind and knew exactly what to show and what to ask the children to do.

I love Eltham Centre
I love Eltham Centre. Have been there for two weeks now. The young lady in the reception was very professional, helpful and respectful. The main swimming pool is big enough and not overcrowded to enjoy swimming. I love group exercise and dance classes. The instructors are very good. In the gym there are many maschines and enough space to everyone. I recommend that sport centre to everyone who lives in the area. Thanks!

Smelly changing rooms,swim lanes badly managed, burning water in showers
Smelly changing rooms,swim lanes badly managed, burning water in showers- I've been using the Eltham Centre for a couple of years now and these issues have been consistent in my experience.
1.Whilst generally good for children's swimming lessons, water in the shower poses risk of scalding.There is no way to adjust the temperature and it's dangerously hot.
2.Apart for classes,staff would abruptly cram swimmers into a general area (that spans 3 or 4 lanes) without actually separating the lanes,so everyone is chaotically swimming in circles bumping into each other and making for an unnecessarily stressful experience.
3.The floor is always wet in the changing rooms and smelly. Perhaps that's because there are a lot of users of the facilities, perhaps more regular cleaning is in order.
4. The lockers require a payment of 20p which is petty and tedious.
5. Awkward and not easy to find opening hours of various facilities like the small pool or sauna.

My experience of the Weight Management Programme
I really enjoyed the whole experience, my fellow attendees were a great group and hope to keep in touch but our trainers also helped to make the whole experience both interesting but also geared to our individual needs.
