I spoke to “customer service” they…
I spoke to “customer service” they never took any details off me and said I had to pay the rejoining fee.
This all stated back in Feb/March where I found out my membership was suspended due to not uploading my bluelight card as proof of corporate.
I spoke to Mustafa on the phone and uploaded the documents, he then said I had to pay £15 but never made it clear after I asked why.
Since then, on my part I had forgotten and time had passed me by, I have then gone to sort my membership out, I was told by the centre I need to speak to customer service, which why centres can’t do this anyway.
The bloke called Asad found out it was February and said that I had to pay £12 joining fee, I of course argued this and still had to pay it.
I have been at donyngs for over 12 years and I have been left feeling rubbish about this.
I asked the manager at Donyngs to have this raised and almost a week later, I have heard nothing at all.
When I asked Asad if I could speak to a manager he said I would have to wait 48 hours for a call back.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have looked through our correspondence with you and can see that when you initially contacted us, we made several attempts to contact you to assist you and were left without responses on several occasions.
I can see that in May after your membership had been suspended in March, Mustafa reached out to the centre to ensure we could reinstate your membership to your previous price plan and after this was confirmed, he agreed to reinstate your membership without charging you a set-up fee as a goodwill gesture and just sent you a link to make the pro-rata payment for your membership.
Mustafa then sent you this link 3 times and you did not make payment and after you not responding your ticket was closed.
You then rejoined in centre in September. As you did not respond to our emails and waited almost 6 months to rejoin, you did need to pay the set-up fee which is applicable to any customer whose membership suspends or is cancelled.
We are sorry that you are unhappy and we appreciate you rejoining with us.

Antiquated attitudes
I previously wrote a review around a year ago of their gym in Redhill, Surrey, which largely holds true; the reception staff are mostly pleasant if they notice you, the pool isn't too busy and facilities outside of the gym are generally maintained.
A year later;
Whether or not the rules of the gym are enforced appear clearly linked to if you're on good terms with whoever is working in the gym. In particular, around 5pm when the gym is busy, this woman will be very happy to interrupt young people mid-set telling them they need to leave by 5.30 (because that's their rules) while at the same time ignoring all the coats and bags scattered around over equipment by her friends. Most frustrating is when one of her friends starts shouting at other customers and she ignores it because the antagonist is her friend.
Having spoken to other people in the area who previously used the gym, I've discovered this is an ongoing issue and the main reason for people leaving in favour of the better maintained and cheaper option (within about a mile, which i haven't named in case it is deemed to be advertising).
In short, like a lot of other people in the area, I've become fed up with the poor standards they at Donyngs and I've cancelled my membership in favour of the better maintained, cheaper gym.

I have a very poor experience with better UK support team. I have contacted and sent them emails 3 times about the notice of 1 month, but no one is replying. 1stile I contacted 9th July and it’s 2 weeks.

Non-existent swimming space for adult swimmers
Came here late morning on a Sunday, and three of the five lines in the main pool were closed off for children's swimming. This is despite there being a separate kids' pool opposite the main one. This only left two lanes for adult swimmers - a slow lane and a fast one. So you're screwed if you swim at a moderate pace, as you either have to trail behind a painfully slow swimmer, or worry about being whacked in the face by a violently fast swimmer. I'm not sure why three-quarters of the main pool gets closed off at the weekend for kids' swimming, while adult swimmers are confined to two tiny lines, which get very overcrowded. This feels discriminatory and creates a stressful experience. I work full-time during the week, so weekend swimming is the only feasible option for me.
The changing areas and showers leave a lot to be desired. The changing rooms are few in number, and extremely pokey. The showers are communal, which is disgusting as I (and I'm sure many others) don't enjoy washing myself in front of strangers. There's also hardly any water pressure, so it's impossible to properly wash the chlorine off your body and hair.

The centre is very very clean…
The centre is very very clean everywhere. Toilets shine . I enjoy booking classes on line it is very easy. Everyone is very friendly. Lots of classes to choose from. Plenty of free parking. Using your phone app to get through gate into centre, no queuing. The gym is huge with plenty of equipment so no waiting. I have yet to try the pool. But it exceeds expectations so far.
