I like using our local Better Gym in…
I like using our local Better Gym in Cockermouth. The staff are friendly and helpful and the gym is reasonably well equipped. However the building is beginning to look a bit tired and some of the equipment is also tired and often breaking down. I recently had difficulty contacting Better to restart my account after my evidence for NHS reduction expired. I basically had to start a new account at extra cost. I appreciate that this is a Social Enterprise Scheme and this fact influences my decision to stay with them.

Just moved gyms to Cockermouth from…
Just moved gyms to Cockermouth from Penrith. Staff were very friendly and helpful, taking the time to make sure I had a full tour of the gym. Lots of rooms and equipment, although some of it seems old and there's only one place to refill water.
Also, there is only one decent mat for core or other workout uses, the others are all tiny and thin and slip on the floor. More good sized and cushioning mats would be appreciated

Bought membership online only to be unable to book an induction for over a month. Should not still be selling memberships if you can’t do timely induction

Great experience and amazing value
Recently rejoined after a gap since lockdown. The app makes it so easy to check in and out at the centre, see what’s on and to book classes. In only a couple of weeks I’ve done a range of different activities. They’ve all been great and it’s amazing value for money too.

Friendly & helpful staff & trainers
The people on reception have been really helpful. Classes are good especially Louise and Danielle's classes which are great. A proper pilates class would be good. Also a couple more classes as some always have waiting lists.
Only down side is how busy gym gets & how cold the swimming pool water is.

Great staff, really friendly place. Gym is pretty well equipped too. Justbwish there were more benches for the free weights.
