I have had my new Penelope Upholstered Ottoman bed frame for 10 days now, I am really pleased with the I-gel Nanotech Mattress and pillows that I also purchased, they are brilliant, really comfortable, but I am not at all happy with the bedframe that is why have only given it the 2 star review, I cannot understand why the designer of this frame only included one ottoman handle to lift the frame on a frame that is so big and heavy absolutely pathetic, it is only 10 inches long by 1.5 inches wide with no loop to fit your hand in, I have almost given up even trying to use the ottoman storage, it absolutely kills me ( I am 70 years of age not a teenager) has anyone there ever tried to lift the frame with a mattress on it using this single strap?. We have 2 other ottoman storage beds in other bedrooms ,one is a super king and the other is a double (bought from your competitor Dr***s) and I have no problem with those as they both have 2 ottoman handles with loops. I would have thought that having 2 on your beds is just common sense.

Delivery was straightforward and on time

Service at the shop. Relaxed and allowed us to browse and then answered questions we had about different types of headboards to go with divan beds that we liked. Service and staff were great. Delivery service was also good so overall a great experience. New bed we chose was Sage Green and really lovely and strong quality. Perfect experience.

Vast knowledge and not pushy

Initially Shirley attended us but then she was involved with another customer so dawn the manageress helped us. I was buying 2 double beds so it was a big expense. Dawn gave me an idea re the repayments upfront so I knew what I could look at. She gave me sensible advice understanding that there was no back problems as for 2 young people but wanted a new bed for first homes. Felt I got a fair deal for my budget and dawn was an easy person to talk to and I felt was genuinely helping me when I was initially a bit overwhelmed with the situation. Excellent service. Well done!!

Bensons for Beds has been brilliant from the initial search for a bed to the delivery.
The salesperson in store was extremely helpful and friendly in helping us select the right bed.
Delivery was quick as we only had to wait 3 weeks. Bensons kept us up to date by email about the delivery and phoned 30 mins before which was great.
We are very happy with our purchase- the bed is extremely well made and comfortable. We would definitely recommend Bensons. Just check out the sales dates though as we missed the sale price by a day which was annoying.

We ordered in store a double TV bed a matching bedside cabinet, a mattress and a double wardrobe on the 5th February costing just over £3K. A few weeks later we got a call from store advising the colour of the bed and cabinet that we ordered were no longer available, we were disappointed but we settled on a different colour. We had asked for the delivery to be delayed until we were ready as we were redecorating the room and also having a new carpet fitted. Then in March we received an email telling us delivery was due that week with just 2 days notice. I called the store advising the room wasn't yet ready and 2 days notice was not sufficient, the lady at store wasn't particularly friendly, some sighing and talking over me which was annoying. We agreed the delivery would need to happen at the end of March, the wardrobe arrived first and was installed by two very nice men, however before they left they apologised as an internal cupboard was missing which meant they couldn't complete the whole fitting which included the jewellery and laundry drawers, they advised we call the store. We did this and long story short after many calls to Bensons it appeared the cupboard insert hadn't been originally ordered. We were told they would order the cupboard and it would be delivered to our home address, it never arrived on the date they gave us, we were given another date and low and behold it never arrived. After more calls, it appears the cupboard had been delivered into the store, my husband ended up having to go in and collect the cupboard, he then had to put it together along with the drawers himself !!. The mattress and bed arrived the day after the wardrobe, it was quickly put together along with the TV installation, however the TV didn't work due to a faulty arcing mains supply, the fitter said we'd needed to order another one via the store, we couldn't believe it, however they did get a new plug connection out to us in the post within a few days and my husband connected it up. All in all a really bad service, we won't use Bensons again .

I visited Bensons For Beds in Tamworth to test for mattresses. It was a lovely no pressure experience. Machine told me what level of comfort I needed was able to choose a mattress, then an ottoman bed base plus headboard. It was easy to sign up and order my bed. I was able to then have bedrooms decorated and have new carpets in time for delivery. It was an easy quick assembly by the bed team. Unfortunately I strained a muscle in my back but have managed to have a good nights rest in bed. It is so comfortable. I tried the ottoman storage, easy with gas assisted struts. Started putting things back. So much storage space. Panicked a little as I found it difficult to lower the bed but managed it. Takes getting used to but overall have had a very good experience. Bed looks fabulous in situ.

Overall a very good experience

We were greeted warmly but no one hovered over us, just kept close enough to answer all our questions. Shirley was charming and should have a pay rise! The young man working with her was very knowledgeable and helpful too.

My order was delivered within the time slot, the delivery team brought my new mattress, put it on my bed and took my old one in under 5 minutes. Brilliant. The whole experience from purchase to delivery was great.

This shopping experience was one I wasn’t looking forward too.
I’d had my mattress for 25 years and I was stressed at getting my new mattress right with only a 5 minute lay down in a shop to test suitability.
Chris at Tamworth was an amazingly helpful, patient and knowledgable. He made the experience stress feee.
A sale that day meant I also grabbed new bedding and pillows plus a better mattress.
Bargain wardrobes had to he had too so I had a great shop in the end.
Delivery men were polite and very well presented. Clean and tidy.

It’s a breathe if fresh air.

We are very pleased with both the bed and the mattress, this was only achieved by the fact that the two amazing delivery guys were able to jiggle both the mattress and the headboard up our tiny cottage stairs. After specifically asking the salesperson whether the mattress came rolled up, she reassured us it did!!!! And it most definitely did not!!!! Could have been a disaster without my two delivery hero’s
